Top-notch jeweler. Very impressed. Service is second to none. Went out of his way to get the diamond I wanted. Price was VERY competitive. I would not go to any other place. Mark is a class act. I’ve recommended him to many people. I’d give him 10 out if 5 stars!

RMAOTFL … FAKE! I read what someone else wrote about me. I am not fake and very far from it. I am a person that was introduced to «Mr. S» by Mr. Friedman(ring a Borsheims-bell to anyone?), who was introduced to me by someone who was in Ike’s AA Group(rest both their souls)! Thereafter my BFF from Burke moved next door to Mark in the late 80’s and my world got smaller than most. So … «fake» my-A! Mr. S sold me my fist Heuer after telling me how much I would spend on a lifetime of repairs for the Rolex I wanted. Who steers away from that sell? That was honesty and then some! Add to that purchases of jewelry(we’re talking D-F color only for rings & ears rings. etc over the years) that I’ve flown in to pick out and await shipment or to simply send pictures of something I like & to receive pictures or prices back via email/phone — or just a nice package. for prices that no one — and i do mean NOONE — can touch. The only thing fake is most peoples capability to assess fine jewelry, to travel for the purchase of fine jewelry(not your local shopping mall), or the ability to appraise reality. And as I await another package, albeit Omagosh might have gotten another horse or two, I am still rolling …

Mark made the ring of my wife’s dreams! Unfortunately it was the wrong size when I proposed, but Mark was able to get the ring resized and back to my wife before her family came out for a visit just a few days after the engagement! She was thrilled! Mark also made our wedding bands and I’m sure we’ll be back for more in the future!

I visited Mark Edward because I noticed his sign across the street from my house and I wanted to use a local, independent jeweler for my engagement ring. At our initial meeting, he was very friendly, explaining the process to me thoroughly and giving me a great idea of the ring he could create from several diamonds in my family. Despite warnings from friends, I proceeded to commission the jewelery. I gave him two rings that belonged to my great aunt, one a single-stone engagement ring and one a wedding band with several small diamonds. He said it would be done in about two weeks at a cost of roughly $ 2500. Three weeks later, I emailed him to schedule pickup. He did not recognize me at the time. His secretary told me she had no record of my transaction with him, and that she had no idea where my jewelery was at the moment. Mr. Schmelzer called back quickly, explaining that the jewelery had been sent away to another city. We had not discussed sending the jewelery anywhere, and I mistakenly assumed that the work was done locally. This was the first of several attempts to pick up my dream engagement ring. For the next five weeks, I was told alternatingly that Fedex missed delivery, the bench jewelers had screwed up the ring, family illnesses, etc. I finally emailed him and requested my diamonds back in whatever condition they might be. Amazingly, the completed ring was ready in two days. The ring is gorgeous and I love it, so if you have heirlooms that you hope to go missing and a few months’ time to burn, I can recommend him with enthusiasm. Later, I emailed Mr. Schmelzer to get back the original rings without the diamonds, as I planned to set zirconia in the rings and give them back to my mother. A few runarounds later, Mr. Schmelzer finally told me that the settings from my great aunt were lost, never to be found. Evidently, the jewelers in the other city didn’t consider my rings worth enough to insure, track, or send via FedEx. He offered a paltry compensation which I donated to charity. I am now uncertain whether the new ring contains the diamonds from my great aunt. In the meantime, I have spoken with several other people who have had similar problems, making me think this is business as usual. About 4 weeks into the process, a friend of mine looked at me in horror when I told her where I was getting my ring done. I wish I would have followed her advice, which she delivered with the straightest face I’ve ever seen: «My advice to you is get your diamonds back. Now.»
