Old Chicago

Love old Chicagos food — however tonight was ridiculous. We had a party of 5 with 2 of us being celiacs. Tell the server we need gluten free menus — she never comes back with them to the table. Order anyway knowing what is usually safe -‘salad and asked for no croutons … Salads come and they’re full of croutons … Ordered grilled chicken sandwich no bread– comes on the bun. Chucked was cold — server doesn’t come back to the table for 20 minutes. No silverware. Super frustrating to find someone to stop and wait on us. Ordered drinks that never came. We won’t be back here to this location again… And where is a manager ?!

Got here around 430. only had 1 bartender on… had to wait forever before me beer came… had my appetizer before my beer! Not OK! Don’t get the dinner salad if you want a salad the serving size is beyond pathetic with the lettuce & they put the dressing cup in the salad to take up space so you get even less lettuce! For the prices they charge that’s pathetic!

Why do I keep coming back? I live very close to this location, but the service is ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ (or worse) and there is frequently something else that is unenjoyable about this location. Every once in a while we do have a stellar experience.
Tonight, I came with my family and the sound was turned up so loud that we couldn’t hear each other talk. When we asked if they could turn it down, two different employees talked to us about it, stating that people are watching the game. Really, most of what we’ve heard has been blaring commercials. Not all of us come here to stare at TV sets!
If you are in the mood for Old Chicago, I would go to any other location besides this one. BTW, I am married to someone who worked at the downtown location for years – I would never eat their pizza but the beer options are great.

Came on a Saturday when it was not very busy but good took almost an hour to come out. Good food, just don’t make plans to go anywhere right after

Showed up at 10:00 p.m.ish with the family and friends for a late night slice. We stood up at the front for quite awhile, unsure if we seat ourselves or what. Pizza was great, service was just fine.

Food was spicy when server said it wouldn’t be. Handicapped parking they had before is gone, and I’m disabled. The only reason this is getting 4 stars is because our server, Malik was friendly, efficient, and addressed each concern.

OK… I keep giving this place a chance and walked away pissed every damn time… was seated with my girl friend and our friends and ordered a blue moon tall… i eventually had to ask if they were brewing my blue moon as my friends were half way through what they were drinking. Finally came but with no slice of orange. OK. on to ordering food! i thought i would try something different because last time i came here i received a mess on a plate and later a mess in the bathroom. oops. I ordered the whisky bacon burger. it came in a reasonable time but once i picked this thing up it bled grease everywhere (down my arm and filled my plate) by this time i was just fed up. So i took a bite of this 30 weight oil burger and tasted like i thought it would and left a film in my mouth. Sooooo… manager came and i explained and showed him the oil slick on my plate. Maybe i was hearing wrong but i think he said «well all the burgers are greasy like that » HUH? greasy like that? A little beyond greasy i told him. Told the guy to take it away and yes I’m not referring to as a manager from now on. So i ordered another blue moon because appetite is now gone but still have to sit there looking at waitress that had her little sister put on her make up for her that morning. This blue moon came with a lemon and not an orange… Soooooo close. I would recommend locking the doors old Chicago and do everyone a favor.

First time here. The pizza was wonderful! Not too expensive (we’re not drinkers). I would go back.

Lettuce was brown… garlic bread half hard half edible, took awhile to be sat down (while people working just passed by), sat with empty tea for a good amount of time, and they weren’t busy… too bad used to love eating at Old Chicago.

Here for happy hour right now. 25 minutes to get my first beer. Get your staffing together.

Wow, didn’t expect to have such a strong rancid bar smell at this location. OC: You’re not cleaning your equipment and drains effectively.

Open very late on Sunday nights until 1:00 a.m. with a fantastic Reverse Happy Hour which starts at 10:00 p.m. every night!!! Great prices, food & drink. Hot & made fresh pub pizza for $ 2 plus drink specials.

Not a fan of the recent changes. How can you call yourself a tap house when you only have 36 beers on tap? Very bland and forgettable environment. O.C. Has no character anymore.
We used to go at least once a week. It’s been almost two months since I’ve been there, and I have no need or desire to go back.

My family and I went to this restaurant on May 8, 2013 and it was one of the worst experiences at a restaurant that is usually pretty good. We waited almost an hour after placing our order and with my wife’s salad, my wife poured some sort of liquid substance that filled a ramekin completely. The server had the manager come over to talk with us about the salad problem. After the manager stopped initially at the wrong table, basically blew it off saying that the «Staff did not properly ‘Spin’ the salad and that besides water that the rest of the liquid was water.» Talk about lack of customer service and really wanting to make things right, it came across as an excuse and that we were inconveniencing manager in regards to this. The server came back after the manager stopped by and seemed to instantly adopt the same nonchalant attitude. It made me sick that my wife had this issue and the lack of courtesy from the restaurant left an even more awful taste in my mouth. Maybe it was just an off night as previous visits to this location always seemed to be pretty decent and the location down in the Old Market seems to still have good service.

Food is always good when we go. I usually get their salads, but I tried the calzone this last time. It was good. Only could eat about half, but it tasted great as leftovers the next day. Wish the prices were a little cheaper and service was a little more attentive. We will go back again soon. Beers on tap are great.

Pretty good beer selection on tap although most of it is overpriced.
The food here is always pretty good. Can’t say I’ve had a bad meal here. I don’t recall if I’ve ever had one of their pizzas, but their sandwiches are always good. I do like there flavored fries as well. The jerk fries are pretty tasty.
