Omaha Steaks

Teensy, thin ground beef patties, thin steaks impossible to cook any way but well done, and after doing business with Omaha Steaks THEY WILL NEVER, EVER STOP SPAMMING YOU! Even if their products were fabulous — and they are as far from fabulous as they can get — had I known they’d ignore request after request to stop the barrage of emails I would have never ordered from them!

I gave them a 4 star because my order was delayed by one week. That being said, Omaha has the best customer service. They gave me a great discount because of being inconvenienced. That on top of the super sale they were having, made this the most awesome Christmas gift. The portions look small, but in actuality, it’s probably the size I should be eating. My family loved the meats, but say the apple tartlets and cheesecake were absolutely delish. Keep up the good work Omaha Steaks!

Sorry Omaha Steaks but I can not do business with someone who will not keep their word. The story: We bought some steaks and hamburgers from them and some of the burgers tasted old. They kept their word and sent more hamburgers which were OK, just not great for the price. I was also told the next time I ordered I would get free shipping. So I ordered again as they had some prices that was good so when I asked for the shipping to be waived I was told they would not give me the shipping free as promised. I canceled the order and advised them to take me off of their mailing list. I also asked for a supervisor to call and has not at the time of this writ. I do not like being called a LIAR. So I am looking for another mailorder place to buy my steaks. if anyone knows of any place please respond and I’ll give it a try.

Tried to order a $ 49.99 deal which was in the los Angeles times this morning, and they said this promotion had ran out. NO THANKS OMAHA, I DON’T FALL TO THOSE KIND OF DEALS

I received a gift of Omaha steaks last year — some filets, some sirloins, some pork chops and some sides. The pork chops were just plain tough — no better than the worst you find at a supermarket. The sirloins were ok and the filets were ok. But, they were not as good as what you can find locally at a decent meat market — for a fraction of the price. As far as I’m concerned their meats are average at best and their prices are exorbitant. I would never recommend them.

Omaha Steaks quality is pretty good, not excellent, but pretty good. Everyone has their favorite place around town to buy steaks, and I would say their steaks about the same quality of your favorite local grocery/​market.
Where Omaha fell short in my opinion was the size of their steak which were tiny. Keep in mind a 6 – 9 ounce steak cooks up to a tiny piece of meat. 6 – 9 ounces PRIOR to cooking leaves you with a steak almost half the size after you cook it. If it was the size advertised AFTER cooking it then it would be well worth it. But it wasn’t and nobody wants to leave the kitchen table hungry.
So for close to $ 100.00 worth of Omaha Steak is the equivalent to about $ 60.00 as much meat from my local market. If their quality was better I could justify the additional cost; but like I said, their quality is good but not twice the price good.
Omaha tends to spend as much money of their packaging/​presentation with individually packaged items, giving an excellent presentation when it comes in the mail. But I cannot eat the packaging, and their portion sizes are ridiculously tiny.

I have always been selective about what I buy from Omaha Steaks and thus I am very happy — especially with the Customer Service — and you can get better prices if you just ASK for them.
The individually wrapped Strip Steaks (I like the bone-​in) and Rib Eyes are great. I am less thrilled with filet mignon — but I am not a filet lover. The chicken kievs are excellent.
No worries here — and makes for good holiday gifts.

I have used this company before. The steaks were ok. I ordered from them this year for a Christmas present for a family member. I would be wary of their delayed delivery promise. I requested a delayed delivery and they sent it out in a few days. When i called to complain about it, the supervisor gave me an attitude. They need to get a better customer service dept.

Lobster not delivered as promised for Mother’s Day. No flexibility whatsoever. Had to call Visa to stop payment. Of course, I am sure they will continue to call every week to get me to buy something. NOT!!! Stay away, this is the second time they have failed on am important delivery date.

These are one of the most famous steaks in the world, ranking with Kobe beef and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouses. So being in Omaha, I had to just try these steaks, even though I had no way to cook them.
So I bought the smallest pack I could get. I found 4 5oz tenderloin steaks wrapped in bacon for $ 30, normally $ 60. Ok… now what? How do I cook these things in a hotel with just a small microwave??? Frustrated with the lack of cooking utensils, I hoofed it over to the local Wal-Mart…found a grill for under $ 10, got some charcoals, lighter fluid and a lighter. The hotel parking lot was void of any vegetation… so I created a tailgate party of one in that fireproof parking lot.
The first two steaks I grilled had lots of connective tissue through the middle and make that meat chewy and undigestible. The parts that didnt have the connective tissue was fabulous… but I was extremely disappointed. Steaks retailing for $ 40 a pound, should not have this kind of connective tissue and chewiness. The following morning, I had the hotel chef grill the last two steaks at breakfast. One of the steaks didnt have connective tissue, but was rather chewy and not filet tender. The fourth and last steak in the lot… WAS FABULOUS It was tender and melt in you rmouth. Even though these steaks were frozen, thawing according to directions made these steaks taste extremely good and not mealy like alot of frozen steaks taste.
As I was ready to rate Omaha one or two stars, and I was throwing away the remaining boxes, I noticed a slip of paper that advertised 100% customer satisfaction or your money back. I called the toll free number and was instructed to just go back to the store and get a refund or replacement steaks.
There was absolutely no hassel. I got my money back with no questions asked. Complete honor system 100%. Because I only got one good steak out of four, there is no way I can rate them 5 stars even though that one steak was great. But I rate them 4 stars because there is no risk on your part. If your purchase doesn’t produce the best quality steaks you have ever had, you get your money back. You can’t beat that deal.
While at breakfast, I talked to the chef who also runs a steakhouse for another hotel He only orders Omaha steaks because of their name and people ask for it. However he told me he is constantly arguing with Omaha because their quality hasn’t been reliable.
My advice. It’s harder to get your money back in a restaurant because of their overhead and everything else there. If you have to try Omaha steaks, buy it at their store or mail order… and let their great gurantee back up your purchase.
