Very cumbersome appointment scheduling and website did not work via Unilocal link. This seems unfortunate because it must slow Web based traffic. Great they are open on Mondays… just have to be able to an appointment.

I’ve been going to Joe Novotny for the last 12 years, following him from his salon locations. Joe is exceptional with my hair, and I have had everything from a cute hair cuts and colors, to high lights, and he also did my hair for my wedding! He is very unique and detail oriented. He is extremely laid back and casual and makes you feel comfortable and at ease when getting your hair done. Totally would recommend :)

I’ve had a great haircut here on multiple occasions, but went in to have it dyed and had a terrible experience. Went back again to have it fixed, and the hairstylist and another stylist observing both said it didn’t turn out like how I asked, but offered no alternatives to fixing. Both agreed my hair just wasn’t «taking» the color, and my hair turned out a terrible shade of dirty blonde when I asked for a deep brown. Offered no refund or alternatives. I spent about 6 hours in the chair from the 2 appointments, spent over $ 100 and wish I wouldn’t have wasted my time and money.

I initially felt guilty about my previous review, thinking it premature and overly harsh towards Joe N. and his business. I probably should have deleted it and moved on, secure in my knowledge that my hair and wallet were in better hands elsewhere. However, I’m quite happy that Joe N. shared his feedback. I hope it becomes an abject lesson to other small business owners on how NOT to respond to negative customer feedback. This stuff literally could not be copied from a college textbook about business branding. A couple of takeaways from this experience: 1) It is not the customer’s responsibility to provide the hairstylist with the day’s entertainment. Better to arrive on time, sober, and keep your hands steady for accurate measurements. 2) Hire an accountant — at the very least a front desk receptionist that can detect these errors in a timely manner and run interference with bewildered customers before these issues reach the ‘Yelp review’ phase. If you notice that the customer left a 60% tip, it’s probably your mistake and it’s also not the customer’s duty to contact you first and remedy the situation. If you can’t afford to hire a front desk receptionist, then you probably can’t afford to operate a business in Old Market.

Okay. Okay. Maybe I was a little quick to judge my first time around. After another customer explained to me the business model if this establishment, I decided to give it one more shot. And I am SO happy I did. Tarah is fabulous. I have lots of naturally curly hair and she knew just how to handle it! I received an amazing cut and will only trust this woman with my hair!!! I would highly recommend her for anyone, but for those of us blessed with the curls –trust me– make an appointment!

This salon is clean and upscale. It’s clear that the stylists care about the environment. I have been going to Tristin for 5+ years for cut and color. She really listens to me and offers options when I’m looking for a new cut. She also did my hair and makeup for my wedding. It is amazing what great makeup can do — I have never felt as beautiful as I did on my wedding day. She listened to what I wanted and the end result was so, so great. I highly recommend Rain Salon, and specifically, Tristin.

Beautiful salon, very clean, upscale and hip. I have been going to Nicole O’Brien for two years now and followed her from another salon to Rain. She does amazing things with color and I have gotten tons of compliments on my ombré. She always spends as much time as is needed to get the best possible outcome. I never feel rushed or ignored because my appointment is taking a while. It’s great to have a stylist that actually listens to you and asks questions.

If you want extension, there is no better person to see than Natalie! I can’t begin to explain how wonderful Natalie Dixon Rose is to work with. I admit– I am a big pain as a client. I am always anxious about my hair, and I tend to not really know what I want when I walk into the salon. I made the decision to get extensions. This was an enormous financial investment for me. Not only that, but the idea of going to a new stylist to get the extensions done after 3 years with someone else made me even more nervous. Natalie scheduled a consultation with me and after the 30 minutes we spent together I knew everything would be fine. She answered all of my questions(I am sure I asked 50) and dealt with my over anxious nerves. Natalie takes her job as a stylist seriously and her consultations made me feel like my opinion mattered and that she listened to me. I planned to keep my extensions in for a few months, but loved them so much I made yet another financial investment to have my extensions reapplied. Everyone who meets me compliments me on my hair. Turns out– it’s totally fake :) If you want extensions this is the lady to do it. She’s flexible with scheduling and makes you feel like your her only client.

Nicole is great. I always figured finding someone to cut my hair would be fairly simple. However, I managed to go through 3 or 4 people before I found Nicole. This is the 3rd salon she’s worked at since she started cutting my hair & I’ve been happy to move with her.

It is my humble opinion that Tarah is amazing! She’s cut my hair for 6ish years; I wouldn’t go to anyone else. Tarah and I started in one of my short stages, and she saw me through the growing phase to super long. With Tarah’s expertise, I easily avoided the awkward growing out phases — she had the right cut/shape for every length. I’m back to short now, and get so many compliments on the cut from strangers; I think it’s pretty awesome, too. I highly recommend Tarah!!!

My former stylist just moved to Taiwan so I was left with my final transition to Omaha, finding a good stylist… I have tried a couple, some were just OK and some were just awful… however Jill at Rain Salon was awesome, I have received endless compliments on my hair… reasonable prices, relaxing ambiance in the salon… I definately recommend her…
