This was the first time in 15 years that I have visited Taco Johns. This particular store is located on the west side of 72nd street. You will need to whip a U turn if your traveling North on 72nd street. The store was clean, the menu board was easy to read(big print for use old folks). After I placed my order it took about 45 seconds and my food was ready. I ordered the 2 Taco Combo, the Tacos were pretty bland, the hot sauce added taste to the Tacos. The Potato Oles saved the meal, hot, crispy and outstanding. The staff was friendly and the store appeared to be well run. .

Worst fast food location in Omaha. They forgot my nacho cheese 2 times in a row(which I paid for). I called them and the manager took down my name and said she would give me a complimentary meal next time. When I went in to claim my meal and give them my name, they said I would need the original receipt. I then asked what the purpose was for taking my name then. They said they didn’t know but basically accused me of trying to get a free meal. I sent in a complaint on their website and nobody ever got in touch with me to even apologize.

I hadn’t had taco johns in years and was super excited to see one again and enjoy some of their life altering potato olé’s. I arrived at this location at 945 pm. The store closed at 1:00 am. When we pulled up to the drive thru, the employee seemed annoyed to be there. We asked for ketchup with our potato olé’s and she replied with a curt, «you’ll have to remind me at the window.» When we got to the window, we presented the credit card and asked for ketchup, as the employee requested. She seemed incredibly annoyed and slammed the window shut. She gave the credit card back and had us drive forward to wait for our food. After 20 min, she approached the car with the food. We asked if there was ketchup in the bag to which the employee responded, «no. You’ll have to come back through the drive thru» and promptly walked back into the building. Next, the employee presented us with a total of 37 packets of ketchup. Needless to say, we got a hearty laugh out of her passive aggressive attempt at service recovery. As far as the food goes, it was below average for what I expect from Taco Johns. The olé’s were soggy and old. I’m not sure what we waited so long outside for, but it certainly wasn’t for the preparation of our food.

I normally like Taco John’s. I remember when they first opened in a little trailer on Saddle Creek. The food was far better then. Today, I went there thinking I could get something enjoyable. Big mistake… 1) I failed to check the Douglas County Nebraska Health Department’s web site for their rating. «Standard», meaning a «C» average. Not a place to which I want to return until their rating has come up to at least a «B»… Today the Grilled Chicken Burrito was terrible. The cheese sauce is obviously from a can, and nearing end-of-life. Really bad. The Potatoe Oles were not bad, though. Not very greasy, but had been sitting out too long so they were somewhat stale, and certainly not very warm. I got my order to go so I could take it back to the office, and wish I had not, so I could have returned the Grilled Chicken Burrito. Their«hot» sauce was really disgusting. No heat to it at all, and tasted so metallic I could not put any more on my burrito to cover up THAT taste. Other Taco John’s restaurants are much better, but this one apparently has no management oversight so they let the quality plummet. My advice: Go to Wendy’s, across the street. Its quality and Health Dept rating(«Excellent», as of 8÷12÷2014) are much, much higher.

Potato oles are seriously the best thing ever, and the chicken actually tastes like chicken, unlike their competitors. I love taco john’s. They even have fresh pico de gallo on their condiment bar, which is awesome. Best fast food tacos out there for sure~

Eh I wasn’t impressed… Granted the people working here were nice, but between the food and what I felt were high prices I’ll probably wait a while before going to another TJ’s…I ordered a couple of burritos and a side of tater tots and a drink and paid over $ 11…Granted I realize this isn’t Taco Bell, but for that kind of money I’ll just go to a sit down restaurant and have better food… I enjoyed what I ordered but I didn’t think it was good enough to warrant the price I paid… The dining area did appear cleaner than your standard fast food joint so that was a pleasant change…
