Great authentic Mexican food at impressive prices. Never disappointed. I love their quesadillas!

This is real-deal authentic Mexican food! The menu is simple with your typical taqueria options, corn tortilla tacos, tortas, etc., which was exactly what we were looking for! The best meat(in my opinion) was either the pastor or the adobado, both are marinated pork. The weakest was the asada, which wasn’t bad, there just really wasn’t much to it. The salsas were delicious and authentic, with a mild tomato, and a spicy dried chile option!

Service was great but a little weird. You sit down and a waitress comes to your table but when it’s time to pay they don’t bring you a check. You go to the register and give them your table number. As for the food it was great. 2 Types of Salsa, one was Tomatillo and not sure what the other was but it was good. Got the Taco’s and the Gordita. Gordita was good but seemed like it was a taco on a strange tortilla. Definitely will be back

Had lunch at Taqueria Tijuana today, and had carne asada and lengua tacos. Very authentic and tastes great. Clean with an authentic atmosphere. I would recommend Taqueria Tijuana to somebody looking for real Mexican food in Omaha.

En mi opinión, esta taquería es el mejor en la ciudad. Los sopes son las estrellas del menú. Es un restaurante sencillo, y los sabores son claros y auténticos. Sugiero este lugar a todos.

This place is hands down the best taco place in Omaha. Since my last review I’ve gone to several places and yeah, no one beats Taqueria Tijuana. PERIOD. This place has only gotten better over time. The portions seem to have gotten larger and the prices are still cheap. They’ve updated the place a little and they now take credit cards, although I’m not sure which ones as we paid with cash. The food tastes as good or BETTER than better. I’m considering going back tomorrow. Oh I love me some tacos. I suggest the adobado and the lengua. You would NEVER know it’s tongue(lengua) and it’s so delicious. I suggest an extra order of guacamole because it’s so yummy. For less than $ 10 – 15 dollars(depending on how hungry you are) you could feast. The new people they have their are even more friendly and just about all of them speak English now.

Just moved from out east to Omaha. Spent a couple of years in Tennessee then a couple more in upstate New York. All those years we have lamented not having good Mexican food like we enjoyed while living in Utah. Well, we finally found it! This place is great! Their menu is a bit shorter than most places, but what they have is spectacular! They have a wide variety of meats to choose from for your tacos, sopes, burritos, and more. The tacos were like street vender tacos kicked up a notch. I was definitely satisfied. And best of all was the price! Will definitely return soon.

I’ve eaten at taqueria Tijuana a few times now and I absolutely love the authenticity this place brings to Omaha. Any of the tacos here are what you would get at any street vendor in Mexico. I love the carne asada and al pastor tacos or tortas. The salsa is always great and everyone is so nice! Reminds me of home!

Heard a lot of rave reviews about this place, especially the tacos, so I was very much looking forward to coming here… They just started taking debit/credit so that was a plus in my book, but it was an otherwise unremarkable visit… I ordered 3 carnitas tacos and a carnitas quesadilla… the girl serving us was polite but distant… they have a pretty limited menu, which isn’t always a bad thing, but I would have liked more options… the tacos themselves were ok, neither good nor bad, but I’ve certainly experienced better… Biggest problem was the meat was dry and a tad overcooked… the quesadilla was pretty good… the gentleman who rang us up was a friendly fellow and the prices were reasonable… Overall, not a bad visit, but not one I’m in any hurry to repeat…

Absolutely the BEST. TACOS. EVER. Sorry, California. This taqueria was recommended by, of all people, our bank consultant in Papillion! He grew up in the area and said that this is where all the locals go, so of course we had to. Tried the taco joints across the street and I have to say that this taqueria is as authentic as it gets. The jalapeño sauce is great and goes well with everything. We tried every taco except the chorizo. Our favorites were the cheek tacos, carne asada, and al pastor. Tacos were only $ 1.95 each and were filled to the brim with seasoned meat. My husband ordered the huge carnitas burrito and he loved it. The menu is short and simple, the servers are friendly, and the owner was incredibly nice and welcoming. She mentioned that they just upgraded and added a credit card system so it’s not just cash they accept anymore. We had lunch here and were so impressed with their food that we brought back our extended family for dinner! Great corner location right off of the 75 on Q Street. Parking is a little tight behind the building, so we parked at the thrift store lot next door.

Cleanliness 4 Service 5 Food 5 Overall 5 A great place to go grab lunch! I ordered a steak Gordita and a pork Sope. They were delicious! The tortillas are hand made and are cooked to perfection. They had some lettuce and cheese on top of them and the Sope had some sour cream. I was extremely impressed with what I received. The salsa that comes with the meals is really good too. The Salsa Verde is more of the mild one with the orange/red salsa the spicy one, both are extremely tasty! The pricing is pretty decent for what you get. very good tasting and very prompt in their getting a full table their orders. Some of my friends got the burrito, and it is huge! It reminds me of a Chipotle or Qdoba size burrito. Great for the price. Overall I will definitely be coming back and recommend this place to anyone looking for a small place that cooks some delicious food. Just make sure to bring cash as I believe they only accept cash.

This place is pretty great. The salsa they bring to your table is legit and the pastor and carnitas were muy delicioso. Sopes and gorditas for the win. Horchata was good but was luke warm. I know adding too many ice cubes will water it down, so I appreciate the gesture of only 3 cubes, but really it should be chilled. BUT their torta was just meh. 1 star. Too much mayo, 1 slice of tomato in the whole thing, no avocado, bread was kind of flat, meh meh meh. Chorizo was very processed, oily, and«mystery» meatish tasting. Not my thing. Eat here, do some thrifting, and then hit up the bakery down the block.

While in Omaha recently, I was searching for some authentic Mexican food and had been told by locals to head south on 24th and you’ll find it. So, I did just that, parked near the wonderful bakery(review to come) and pulled out Unilocal.Taqueria Tijuana popped up as the highest rated, so off I went. I walked in and was seated right away. I should have read the other reviews about the servers not speaking English because I started out in English and soon realized I was getting nowhere. Luckily, I made my way through two years of high school Spanish 25 years ago and was fully prepared. OK, maybe not. But, I knew enough to get my order placed, which was three tacos(two chorizo and one carnitas) and Coke in a glass bottle. My server brought out a number of «accessories», including two types of salsa, radishes, and perhaps grilled jalapenos? Not sure on that last one. But, the tacos fully dressed came with cilantro, onion, and an avocado sauce(GETIT!). The carnitas taco was good, but a little dry. The chorizo tacos were honestly the best tacos I think I’ve ever eaten. They were amazing. I had to order another one just to top them off. I dream about them and cannot wait to get back for more. The service was friendly and fast. I had my food within a few minutes of ordering each time. Very quick. I didn’t try anything other than tacos on this visit but look forward to trying other things. I enjoyed the visit and I know that I will find myself down here for lunch quite often once fully relocated to the area. Check it out if you want authentic and delicious tacos… and get the avocado!

As a Mexican from Arizona, I do not approve.(Seriously, Arizona has the best Mexican food.) With that said, this place was ok. It’s definitely not worth all the raving reviews. The rice in my carne asada burrito was overcooked and hard. And the overall burrito was very bland. The horchata was decent though. Question — Is there anywhere that sells carne asada fries in Omaha???

Sweet spot! Stumbled upon it and we were pleasantly surprised. Everyone working was very accommodating and genuine. I really liked that they use little food service/safety techniques that maybe only a former server would notice but makes the experience better for everyone. Food was amazing, inside was beautiful and very clean. Can’t wait to get back!

I have been eating here for years and years. Quick service, good food. Not a huge variety on the menu, but what they do they manage to do it very well. I usually just get the tacos de carne asada(yum — I really enjoy the avocado), but the sopes are delicious as well. I’ve been disappointed my last couple of visits. No sopes/gorditas left when I went on Saturday. The week before they messged up my order a tad. Little annoyances that aren’t enough to make me stop frequenting.

This place is, as Unilocal calls it–«A-OK». I was actually trying to go to my favorite across the street but they were closed for holiday hours, so we finally made our way into Taqueria Tijuana. I’ve been curious about this taqueria for a while, but since it always seems so dead in there vs it’s competitor across the street, I’ve never been too enticed to go in. The place is cute– sort of a mexican homey feel and the staff was friendly. The food was amazingly quick-it came out only minutes after being ordered. The menu is my main gripe– it’s so limited! I was really looking forward to eating some steaming hot platter type dishes(cue the beans and rice!) but they only have burritos, sandwiches(torta) and the tacos basically. The tacos, while having guacamole(a perk for sure) fell short for me on the flavoring of the meat and the small tortilla(impossible to eat without meat bits flying everywhere). Also I did miss my complimentary chips. I would give this a try if you’re a taco lover, but maybe not for the other menu items. I prefer the flavored meat/larger corn torillas/clilanto and onion toppings of some of the other restaurants in town over this one, even if it did include guacamole.

This place is ok. BUT not as good as the place across the street… the old dairy queen building… But it is always very busy in here… you get chip and salsa. The green salsa is very delish. The meat is not as tender as I like it… I think that it is not the best cut of beef… go figures but… def not a bad place to try. With close competition with several Mexican restaurants in a close radius… you have got to stand out on some menu item… and this place failed at doing that. If this place was in another area of town… Bellevue, West Omaha or somewhere with little competition… the rating would probably increase by one star

Working just down the street, this is our favorite spot to grab lunch on teacher inservice days. The décor is cute and bright, the workers are usually pleasant(though they may not speak much English), and you can’t beat the prices. I love the steak tacos with all the fixings – onions, lime, avocado, radishes, peppers, and several salsas, with an order of rice on the side. They don’t have complimentary chips, but the food comes so quickly you won’t miss them. The horchata is good, but in my opinion El Chalan’s(down the street) is better. They do have the good glass bottled Cokes from Mexico. Service is extremely fast, the food is good, and it’s a great place to take out-of-town visitors when you don’t want to break the bank. It is cash only, so be prepared. There’s an ATM in the gas station down the street if you need it. One word of advice, be careful with the roasted peppers that come on the side. Some are mild, but some are SPICY.
