We had friends rave so much about the donuts at the Corner Bakery Café, we had to give it a try. It’s a relatively small place in the center of a quaint town, and it’s clear that the locals love it, which is always a good sign. We arrived about 10AM, and were the 8th people in line. They have about 4 tables, but most of the business was carry out. We ordered a dozen, which was an incredibly reasonable $ 8. The cinnamon-raisin donuts were huge, moist, and packed with raisins. The glazed were light and fluffy. Both were incredibly tasty. My favorites were the cream puffs and the eclairs, both filled with incredible vanilla crème. The crème puffs were so filled that rather than the usual flat shape of a typical donut, they were round like a baseball, and the crème started breaking out once they were picked up. They were exceptional! The eclairs had the same overstuffing, but were cylindrical. Rather than the usual thin chocolate glaze, they had a thick chocolate frosting topping that was outstanding. We drove 45 minutes to get to the Corner Bakery Café, and it was well worth the drive! These were definitely the best donuts I’ve ever eaten, and we’ll definitely be back!

Their baked goods are superb. My rating is because of how they treated me. The woman tried correcting me for requesting their Boston crème, trying to say they were all eclairs. The round ones are Boston crème and I showed her what I meant. She was very rude to me about it. The service takes quite some time and it’s always packed. It’s a good 15 – 20 minute wait on Saturday, and you MUST come early to get what you want. Ask even if you don’t see your favorite doughnut because they keep em in the back to get rid of the ones with a longer shelf life.

Best doughnuts ever! The cream puffs and Chocolate éclairs are to die for. Only suggestion: put chocolate filling in the cream puffs!

Uhhhh — YES! We read about the Corner Bakery before we visited Onnancock, so we were excited to try out the famous cream filled donuts and man oh man, did they exceed our high expectations! These were the softest pieces of heaven I have ever laid my hands on and were delicious! You can tell they are freshly baked, most likely in small batches too, to keep them coming as yummy as possible every time. We also tried the glazed — same weakness spot on how soft it was — and it was pretty tasty as well. Corner Bakery glazed donut 1 — Krispy Kreme glazed 0. Oh, and a cinnamon which we were also big big fans of! Lastly, we had an éclair but it wasn’t our favorite treat. Prob won’t get that one again and will get some more of those yummy cream filled donuts! Cutest atmosphere — mom and pop style — bakery. The walls were bright yellow, which make me smile from ear to ear. Price wise — super cheap! Great experience and we can’t wait to drive up next time and make a very worthy detour to Corner Bakery again!

I stopped to try the donuts. The glazed was amazing. The best I have ever had! The little old lady was charming. Parking out back. Great stop!

killer glazed donuts. you wont find them like this anywhere else. they’re old fashioned, yeasty and delicious. but the crème filled donuts were a definite disappointment. she fills them with a kind of marshmallow fluff, instead of the more traditional custard. no thanx. therefore the only donuts i got were the glazed and the jelly, wish there had been more of a selection, i can only imagine the genius of getting plain here.

No breads or muffins available here, but their vanilla crème puff and is amazing(and likely 200% sugar). Go for those. Their pastries are often hit or miss otherwise. A local favorite.

Quite possibly the BEST donut(or doughnut?) I’ve ever had. I tried my best to savor the fluffy, cinnamon-y deliciousness and not shove it all into my mouth at one time. Presentation is nothing spectacular, but it doesn’t need to be when the donut is that good. Obviously a gathering space for the older crowd in the mornings– a table of men sitting in the corner chatting about life and local politics.

Please go here and buy yourself at least a half dozen cinnamon twists. When you’re about to eat them, warm them up a little in the microwave. You won’t regret it.

It feels like I went to a whole different place than other reviewers. We had a brusque employee help us, then got very forgettable pastries on little paper plates. We sat next to a table of old guys who did nothing but complain about Obamacare and life in general. We ate quickly and left, never to return.

If you are in the area, ITIS A MUST! The best variety of donuts is in the morning! I love the sticky buns but everything is delish. They will also do cakes, sweet pot. rolls/biscuits and petit fours!

Delicious Donuts! My personal favorites are cream puffs and regular glazed donuts. Petit Fours are a great idea too for special events like bridal and baby showers.

This is a review for their Sweet Potato Pie that they provided to the Harvest Festival this year. I cannot say enough how good this pie was. It literately melted in your mouth and was so delicious that I just can’t find the words to describe it. Mind you, this is coming from a person that’s not a big fan of sweet potatoes to boot. Next time I’m heading north for a trip I’ll be swinging by here and picking up some fresh donuts. I’m really looking forward to it.
