It doesn’t get much better than this if you’re on the lookout for healthy food in Oneonta. Each shelf is stockpiled with healthy goody after healthy goody like chia seeds, hemp seed butter, handmade, yummy-smelling soaps, organic granola and so much more! They’ve got a refrigerated section where you can find yogurts, different types of milks, fresh fruits and veggies, and beers. Also, if you’re looking for things like brewer’s yeast, farro, quinoa, whole wheat flour, etc., they sell those in bulk so that you’re able to buy as little or as much as you need. With a kombucha filling station, fresh food made right on the spot, a juice bar that is very reasonably priced, and fresh baked organic treats to indulge your sweet tooth throughout the day, there is a little something for everyone. In addition to their food, they’ve also got an awesome selection of classes like yoga, reiki, and meditation, many of which are donation based, which I think is amazing! Everyone who works here is also really kind and welcoming and willing to answer your questions, so don’t let the idea of it being a «health food store» scare you off the next time you’re in the neighborhood because you’ll most definitely be missing out!

Where else can I stock up on spices, herbs, teas, and other amazing organic ingredients all while sipping delicious fresh brewed coffee & enjoying wifi in a comfy seat? Nowhere! The Green Earth is the place! Also, I have to say, this is the only place around where I can get specialized ingredients like oat straw, mullein, colts foot & comfrey at an affordable rate & exactly in the quantity I need. I’m grateful for this place.

The best roasted veggie panini I’ve ever had. They have great fresh juice as well. And the Hemp muffins in the morning are the perfect dessert or side snack that doesn’t leave you feeling guilty. Everything is fresh and made with care. It’s worth every penny to come hear and have fresh food and friendly service.

Well first let me start this review by saying I have been using Unilocal for a couple of years now and this will be my first review. I absolutely loved this place. First of all, I was greeted with a warm welcome. First impressions are always the lasting impressions and boy has the saying never been truer. I ordered a raw juice and the roasted veggie panini. The raw juice was with apples carrots beets and kale… they used the freshest ingredients… it was amazing. Now to the best part, the sandwich, it was the best roasted veggie panini I have ever had! It had goat cheese, pesto, roasted beets, potatoes, carrots, onions and peppers and boy was it FANTASTIC! Thank you lovely health food store café for existing in the vegetarian food dessert of upstate New York!

Stopped in here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The panini was very fresh and extremely tasty(and came with homemade chips!). The coffee was really good as well. I don’t think the rest of the store is my kind of place, but the sandwich area is pretty good.

Green Earth is the place to go for all of your supplement and health food needs. Groceries are a little pricier here, but that is to be expected from a health food store. The employees are all very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly, and they never shun your inquiries about their dreadlocks. The store features a café where you can get delicious fresh food made for you on the spot, and about half a dozen tables(and a couch) where you can dine as you shop. The store also offers free Wifi for those who are passing through and need an internet connection, or those who want to grab a bite at the café while going through emails. Frequent customers can rack up points that will ultimately redeem a 10 dollar discount coupon.

When I was a little girl and we had a little bit of extra money to spend on healthier food we would go the Green Earth. I remember going and filling up a small bag with some trail mix and eating it on the walk home. I live in Oklahoma now so I’m sure that the Green Earth would be most comparable to Whole Foods(minus the chain store attachment to it). If you’re health conscious this is a beautiful place to go to!

I love this store. On my way home from Lake Placid, even though it was out of the way, I plugged their address into the GPS and stopped for some groceries and some hearty three bean chili and rice. Great staff — knowledgeable. The store is quite literally PACKED with goodies… you have to kind of know where to look for everything, but the staff are more than happy to help you find something. Supplements, vegan and veggie goodies everywhere you look, fresh juices and soups of the day and a WONDERFUL bulk section. I live in San Francisco just about a half mile from Rainbow Grocery which is a mecca — this store is really doing a great business to provide healthy alternatives to the community. I am duly impressed.

We stopped in Oneonta on our way west through New York State; we had found this sandwich shop listed on a vegetarian travelers’ website. Non-vegans, fear not. There’s enough offerings of vegan and meat to go around. The sandwich shop is part of a grocery. The regular visitor probably has the routine down pat, but the first-timer has to figure it out. Order the sandwich at the kitchen window, take the hand-written sandwich order copy to the grocery cash register, add a drink and a snack or side dish and pay there. Café tables are located in the front of the pleasantly bustling place and in good weather a half-dozen tables are available on Market Street, too — a good place to tie up the dog and enjoy eating. College kids from SUNY-Oneonta and Hartwick College like this place and so, seemingly, do their parents and families. It’s a winner all around. My sandwich had succulent chicken breast, pesto, and cheese on ciabatta bread — and it was a full, stuffed sandwich. Excellent food and value for the price here. Look at the bulletin boards and posters; you’ll get caught up on all the local social and political culture, at least from the left side.

Really great store for vegan, gluten-free, and organic food. I love it. I always get friendly service and their café’s food is delicious. The vegan burritos and grilled«cheese» are amazing. Oh, and they have an amazing bulk section where you can bring in your own containers or jars if you like so that packaging waste is minimized. They have a student discount and rewards program too.

This place was such a gem for us to stumble upon during our week long stay in Oneonta! I am gluten free so was pleased to find ALL of my staple snack items as well as anything else you could possibly need from Kombucha to tempeh to local honey and ice cream. The deli offers daily soups(today was bean and kale) which are always gluten free. They also make a variety of breakfast/lunch sandwiches as well as juice and smoothies. The staff made us feel so welcome by inviting us to their free yoga classes and even making a list of other great local places to eat! This place is def our daily go to for just about everything we need.

Small natural food store, with a deli and some tables to eat-in. The place has a good selection of bulk food, and I am a fan of their bulk spices and teas. For buying local gourmet food its a good place to start. I would like to see them have more competitive prices. Its hard to encourage local small stores when they are way overpriced, and it is sometime the case with Green Earth.

We’re pleased to see that the new owners of this health food store seem to understand the basics of customer service(the former owner never failed to greet us with a scowl when we walked in). You’ll find a good assortment of frozen health foods, local meats and fish, and fabulous local ice cream here. Excellent and eclectic selection of herbs and dried beans, rices, etc. Good(not great) assortment of fresh local produce. Good(not great) assortment of local cheeses. Overall, a worthwhile option for finding healthy, interesting, locally produced foods – including plenty of cool stuff for the«foodies» among us.
