This is one of many roadside fruit and vegetable stands, iconic of this agricultural/rural area. No pretenses here. Dusty parking lot, shade cloths, no air conditioning, with an essence of dairies and their inevitable end product, cow manure, and the flies. Their local produce still sits in the cartons that were hauled in from the fields. Some produce might be wilty from the intense heat of the summer, but since there was no middle man, it can still be quite fresh.
Check this place out for your seasonal goodies, then keep your eyes open for the others that dot the back roads. This is fun, but also educational for the kids.
