Met a few friends for dinner last night. The food was not presented as described on the menu. The pasta was over cooked. Bay leaf was left in the sauce. Never did get the bread the waitress promised would be out as soon as it was done baking. Hopefully it was just a bad night for the staff.

If you like slow service and undercooked food this is your place. Raw veggies and meat that looked like it had been reheated 3 or 4 times before it was served and this was there supposed specialty ribs. Should have known something was up when it was almost empty at 730 on a Saturday night.

Used to be a really decent inexpensive meal. I’m a local and used to actually take visiting candidates(for job) here. Visited last year and had one of the worst meals ever. I don’t know what happened to the asparagus, but it was the most pathetic, wilted, chewy crap ever. The steak is mealy, poorly cooked and salty. The service wasn’t horrific, but unnecessarily slow. The atmosphere is like a creepy old hunting lodge or something. Steve’s has slid a lot in the last years and they lost their opportunity for my business after 2 such experiences.

Was in Mansfield Sunday and ran across this steakhouse for lunch. Its just okay, but it could be good/great with some minor changes… The pros… The main restaurant seating area is like a great room in a huge log cabin. Big fireplace and decorated accordingly. The bar is old school as well, and very nice. Salads were good, with crisp greens and fresh toppings. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. My steak was cooked a perfect med-rare and was seasoned dead on. And the seafood stuffed mushrooms and onion soup was outstanding! The cons… We were seated in the last booth, not in the main area, but in a side wing, literally 2 feet from the kitchen door. I know these are viable seats, but others were available in the great room. Service was slow, but I dont think it was the fault of the server, methinks she had too many tables. My «prime cut strip» steak while cooked perfectly, was rather grizzled very badly. And on each table, there was a bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, but the bottles were so sticky, after I touched one of them, I had to go to the restroom to wash it off, and it came off hard… its was supper tacky, in fact, disgusting. This was a big turn off for me, as i really wanted to dress my salad, and try the oil with the rolls. And just an additional note, perhaps it was the church crowd, but 90% of the customers were elderly. Not that that means anything, other than the fact of the low review count here. I might return, and if I do, it will be for the prime rib… which I wish I would have gotten. :(

Was taken here for my surprise birthday party. It was wonderful!!! Atmosphere, servers, food… all totally awesome. I had the stuffed shrimp with onion straws and a salad. The stuffed shrimp was a huge portion and very tasty. Would definitely get it again. They are known for their prime rib and have been voted Best in Town for three years running. I haven’t had this(not a prime rib kinda gal) but alot of the people in the party did and all said it was really good. Can’t wait to go back.

Great food & service. The honey butter they serve with the bread is delicious.
