This place is great for lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch! So nice to have«downtown» quality food and menu options in Ooltewah!

Love love love this place! Perfect location for a neat little wine bar. Marcus and Georgia are wonderful people who take great pride in their establishment. They research new wines, beers and food to give us something unique. The service is always amazing and I learn something new every time I stop in. I love it sooo much that my hubby has planned my 40th birthday there and I cannot wait!

I have been there three times and the food has always been excellent. Service originally was rather poor but has gotten markedly better the longer it has been open. Weekday happy hour is great. Definitely worth a try!

I stopped in around 11 on Sunday for brunch. This location was not crowded as I suspect many have not realized they serve brunch. I ordered the eggs Benedict and shared some stuffed French toast with friends. My entrée was very reasonably priced and delicious. I am pleased that the Chattanooga area is becoming more of a brunch town like Atlanta. This place would do well in west midtown Atlanta. Mimosas were 2/2.5 stars, service was prompt and friendly. I will be back.

To all of my Tennessee wine bar rookies out there, which based on a few posts I have read, there seems to be quite a few… Finally, Ooltewah has something to soothe the wine and whiskey palates for those who have a more refined taste… THANKYOUWINEDOWN for bringing an authentic«Wine Country experience»(aka Napa /Sonoma for all the newbie wine lovers) to this lovely little town! Server recommendations were great, timely, and friendly. The food was delightful and went well with our chosen wines… also love the staff attire! I bought a Wine Down t-shirt and I will definitely be representing Wine Down until my next visit! I’m giving this place 5 stars and recommending that everyone go find your favorite wine at Wine Down!

Finally! Ooltewah has needed a place like Wine Down for a long time! After reading some mixed reviews here in Unilocal,I decided to see for myself if this place was going to be all I hoped and Wine Down did not disappoint one bit! They offer an extensive wine portfolio with a great range of prices as well. The food was equally impressive and paired very nicely with the wines recommended by our server. The truffle fries were amaaaazing! Just get them. Do it. You’ll thank me later. We found the staff to be pleasant, knowledgeable, and very attentive, even though the place was very busy at the time! The atmosphere is very classy and you can tell that the owners really have a passion for wine and food by the care they’ve taken in making this place unique. I’m so excited to have a place like this in Ooltewah, and it will definitely be a regular spot for me to haunt! Cheers!

Loved the place but I definitely think they have some quirks they need to work out. They offered a happy hour menu that they refused to serve after happy hour. Meaning even if you liked what you had and were willing to pay more, you could not have it. I thought that was pretty odd and annoying. The fries and truffle fries taste exactly the same so I would not pay more for the truffle fries. They were good but there was no difference in taste. I think it’s a fantastic addition to Ooltewah and I hope it does well. Servers were all friendly and fast too.

I was impressed. I never been to a bar that was specifically a «Wine Bar». You just come in and sit down at the bar and order wine like you would beer at a singles bar. Now, you can order beer here too like any other bar and they have some high alcohol beers. I saw one beer that was 13 percent by volume. You can also dine here too as you can order food. Come here for lunch«they say». They have several tables that seat 4 in here. They can also be put together to seat more such as a table for 6. However, there is an automatic tip charge for tables of 6 or more like I have seen at some upscale restaurants. Wine Down has a quaint, intimate and yet quiet setting that is really appealing. All staff, bartenders and waitresses wear Wine Down shirts. One thing I noticed it that is very relaxing in here. At the time of visiting, I heard no music playing. In summary, this is not just a Wine Bar. You can come in here and sit down for lunch or dinner.

Despite the better-than-average wine list and food, the service(and even more annoying service charge) left us with a bad taste in our mouths. The sweetie(now fiancée, btw!) and I came here with a group of friends on a busy Friday night, six of us total in our party. The service was a bit spotty from the start, but as this is a fairly new business I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. We obviously had a new server– she not only had trouble describing many of the wines on the wine list(which admittedly can even be tough for an experienced server), but she made rookie mistakes like leaving the table with empty hands even when there where glasses/plates to be cleared, not taking everyone’s order at the same time, taking excessively long to return to the table to let us know that they were out of one of the wines we’d ordered, etc. We shrugged it off, until… we had no server. Apparently she left in the middle of the shift, with not a word to us. Oh, okay. But kinda weird. Our new server was definitely better, though a bit over extended. Our group shared a meat and cheese plate, then we ordered a number of main courses. The food was tasty, though the menu was far from groundbreaking. Additionally, as someone who tries to avoid eating a lot of gluten(I like to save my weekly allotment for beer and burgers!), I was disappointed to find very few bread-free options on their menu. Of course it can take a new spot some time to get everything together and running smoothly– and I like to be realistic about that. However, the reality I can’t get on board with at this place is the check. When we all got our checks, we were shocked to find some strange«rounding» adjustment, which was especially weird as it didn’t round to any sort of even number and more so, WHODOESTHAT? I’ve eaten out thousands of times and have never seen it. Then, I was even more irritated to find a 20% service charge had been added to all our checks. I’m not sure if this is their policy for parties over 6(it wasn’t noted on the menu that I saw) or if they just didn’t think we were going to tip them appropriately. Regardless, in my mind, 20% implies great service and honestly, we just didn’t get it that night. I was really happy to see a restaurant of this type open in the area and wanted to support them… But don’t see that happening if this is how they do business.

Best wings I have had in a while. Grilled not greasy and fried. Wine is great and so are the olives.

Went a few weeks ago right when they had opened. Limited food menu at the time but was impressed with what they had. Wine knowledge of staff was 5 star. Looking fwd to second visit to see how they are progressing
