The best chicken fingers around! The grilled chicken fingers with special sauce are the absolute best and I can’t get them anywhere else. The Texas toast and crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside crinkle cut fries compliment perfectly. They also have great sandwiches and wings.

First time we have eaten here, but definitely not the last! Food & service was very good; atmosphere is casual. Constant line of people coming in, including lots of families and older folks, too. My husband had the chicken fingers & cheese basket. I had fish & chips. Both were very good, cole slaw was excellent! Easy to see that it’s a favorite of locals, too.

The food was good. Freshly made and with great flavor. The only thing that keeps me from rating it higher is the service. The two of us were there during a slow time, maybe only one other small group there. When the group in front of us ordered and we moved up to the register, the woman working the front walked away with no acknowledgement that we were there. She ignored us for a few minutes while she did other things, including answering the phone and taking someone else’s order before us. A simple«I’ll be right with you» would have been nice as opposed to flat out ignoring us. When she did take our order, she wasn’t friendly. No eye contact, no smile, no warmth at all, which is so unlike the South. It was more like«What do you want?» in an annoyed tone as she started down at the register. While the food is good, I’m not sure we’ll be back to support a business whose workers are so indifferent to their customers.

Salsalito sandwich was a hit as was the chicken and cheese basket. Yummy Texas toast and fried apple pie. Quiet place on a hot Saturday afternoon –service was nice and quick.

Hands down the best chicken fingers I’ve ever had. The secret sauce was great, but the grilled chicken fingers were phenomenal on their own. Also must recommend the apple pie. Cool hole-in-the-wall atmosphere with awesome food. Going back for sure

I love the Breezeway. I have tried several things on the menu and have never been disappointed. They are known for their chicken fingers, including delicious grilled fingers. Their special sauce is the best chicken sauce around. Don’t want chicken? Try the Reuben or the Salsirito(turkey marinated in salsa!). When I am in the area, I always eat at the Breezeway — usually a few times!

The food here is awesome and the service is outstanding. The prices are great and not cost you a fortune to eat. The employees here are great and are very professional and nice

Delicious. Order the cheese basket with grilled chicken. This place has the menu like your typical Louie’s or Guthrie’s, but the food is 10x more delicious. Literally everything in the platter tastes amazing. Not the healthiest place to eat, but hey, live a little.

A very good option in downtown Opelika. The Breeze Way offers Boars Head meats and cheeses. They have a wonderful selection of sandwiches and salads that would be a good choice for anyone trying to eat healthier, unfortunately, I did not go the healthy route.(To My wife, who will be reading this review, you can just stop trading here, honey) I got the 747. The 747 consists of 4 chicken fingers, which are lightly breaded or grilled, 5 chicken wings, which are a bit small but full of flavor, and a standard portion of their seasoned crinkle fries, all for 8.99. A great deal for great food. 4 stars for the food –1 star for atmosphere. Very old worn out seating, old green carpet, and a smell that attests to the age of the building.

I am giving this a 4.5 :) the inside itself leaves much to be desired but if you look over that and are just there for food, well you will be golden. Chicken finger places are a dime a dozen here, but Breezeway stands out because you can tell they are fresh, made from scratch tenders, like your southern grandmother might make at home! Great Texas toast, crinkle fries and typical«special sauce»(note honey mustard was extra but maybe because we got both?) there was plenty of food in the snack(3 tenders, fries, toast) and they actually have other menu items even though we all got fingers. Definitely my top choice for chicken(also the leftovers heated up great today :))

My hubby & I almost always order the Chicken & Cheese platter. You get 3 – 4 chicken fingers, 2 cheese sticks, fries & an order of their AMAZINGLYDELICIOUS slaw! It is soooo much food. The slaw is so good I order it for family gatherings. You can order a 32oz cup for around $ 7-$ 8. My family always requests it. It doesn’t have carrots or red cabbage, rather green peppers and a sweet note to it. Wish I could figure out how to make it at home! The service is always friendly and quick. Highly recommend over Guthrie’s/Zaxby’s/Louie’s, etc.

This type of restaurant is a dying breed for some reason. Every time I visit, it’s a must go for me. I usually order the chicken and cheese basket which includes 5 chicken strips, texas toast, fries, and 2 cheese sticks. Probably not something you should eat every day but every now and again should be okay :) I’m not a huge fan of crinkle fries but for some reason dipping them in sauce(honey mustard and special for me) makes them taste delicious.

The restaurant looks dangerous on the outside but warm on the inside, especially on a cold spring evening. The service was nice and the prices were reasonable. $ 4.99 got me a snack size meal of generous portions with a Texas toast. I was in a food coma until lunch the next day. I feel the start to any good meal starts with crinkle fries. Therefore, my review already starts out unfairly high. The steak nugget basket consisted of nuggets but with cheap ground up steak. Because I was expecting that flavor and taste of cheap steak, I was satisfied. For those accustomed to sirloin, eating this for fun would be a terrible idea.

Great restaurant. We love the grilled chicken fingers and the sauce can’t be beat. The wings and fried fingers are great too. Lots of imitators but this place makes truly quality food. Stop there every time we come to town

Almost 20 years ago I went here with my buddy Grant. We were looking for good wings and the word on the street was that we’d have to hike over to Opelika to try them at The Breezeway. Well Grant wanted to be a real man and got the super ridiculously hot ones while I just got hot. The cashier was like«are you sure you want them that hot?» to Grant, but he confidently said yeah. Once we sat down with our sweet teas and started eating, Grant smirked at me saying how it wasn’t that hot. I was nibbling on my wings too which were good and just right heat-wise. After a few though, the cashier guy smugly walked over and leaned up against a nearby chair and asked Grant how his wings were. By this time, Grant was sweating and looking to get a refill of his tea to cool him off. Yep they were pretty freaking hot. Flash forward to Dec 30, 2010 and I finally returned to the Breezeway. it looked much like I recall it had from the 1990s when I was last there. The area is actually trendy now, near Eighth and Rail. The wings were still good but it seemed like they served a whole lot more now than they had before. I didn’t go mega-hot, but the ‘hot’ ones I got weren’t really that hot — do I dare to try the freaky heat next time? Stay tuned… Hopefully it won’t be in another 20 years.
