This place is great! We accidentally came in 10 minutes till closing and the staff still treated us with open arms and kindness. Brook(e) was a wonderful waitress and made sure all of us were well taken care of. Thanks Brook(e)! The food was delicious and the bayou nachos were exceptionally great! I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get a bite of cajun here in Gulf Shores. Thanks for the great experience!

Great service, great food, great atmosphere! My family and I were a little wary because of the previous reviews, but we didn’t encounter any of the older issues when we ate here. We ordered seafood etoufee, jambalaya, chicken alfredo, and the shrimp platter, and they were all DELICIOUS. We couldn’t stop tasting each other’s meals! The chicken alfredo was the best we’ve ever had. Our server told us this restaurant has bad reviews because of poor servers from the past, but service has really turned around since then! Our server was so nice and cheery. And the food seems to be MUCH better than it used to be. Definitely recommend!

This is wonderful food, the portions were huge and The food was excellent. There was live music when we went and it was a great atmosphere. Seriously, the muffs lay could be split by 4 people, it’s that big! The seafood nachos were ridiculously huge and with wontons it was pretty awesome, I highly recommend this place!

We have been wanting to try this place for a couple of months so we stopped in on our way home from the beach the other day. Fortunately, like most places in OB/GS, it’s very casual. We were okay in beach cover ups and swim trunks and tshirts. We started with the New Orleans crawfish bread. I’ve never had it before, but I completely understand what all the fuss was about. My hubs ordered the shrimp étouffée and I ordered the cajun seafood pasta. Both were delicious. We opted for bread pudding for dessert. Bread pudding is my weakness. Theirs was very good, especially with that scoop of ice cream on the side. I can’t remember our total tab, but it was average when compared to other seafood restaurants in the area. The service was good. We’ll go back again I’m sure.

This place has obviously stepped up their game recently. I love Cajun and creole food but the restaurants often look gross. The place looks new. Had the boudin balls as a starter and most places will try and skimp on the good stuff by filling it with mostly rice and sausage. These were hearty and tasty. The menu says the big platter is a meal for two but I shared with my my two teenage brothers plus our dad and we were all perfectly full. Dets on the platter, it’s heavy on the alligator, crab legs & crawfish bites. I’d personally rather have more shrimp & catfish. Our waiter was nice enough to split up the gumbo so we could all have our own cup. I’ve spent a lot of time in New Orleans, I actually plan to get married there next year and gumbo normally ends up being all rice and roux. I counted about five pieces of shrimp in my little cup plus okra and other deliciousness. Note: dude in the corner, don’t intensely stare at the customers. It’s kinda uncomfortable. I’m sure you’re the owner but maybe get two way glass? Or look like you’re doing something else while you stare?

WOW!!! We did a, destination wedding in orange beach Alabama this weekend and pick Little New Orleans as the restaurant to have a dinner after. The owner is GREAT, the Staff was OUTSTANDING. They allowed us to have a private room *(which they held for us), they allow us to decorate(which the staff per set up for us to make it easier for us to come in and perfect it), THEFOODWASDELICIOUS, and it was nice portions. I would come back to Orange Beach Alabama beach resort area just for this restaurant. They treated us like Family and my Best friend And guest LOVEIT. TRY the sea food nacho, Wings and dessert

Good food. Good service. We showed up a little after lunch time and avoided the crowd. I had the seafood étouffée and jambalaya. It was delicious. Our server was kind and talked to us about all of the great things to do in town while on vacation. You could buy margaritas, pina coladas and daquiris to go. My wife had a margarita, and it was very good. I would definitely recommend this place.

The atmosphere was very relaxed at 2 in the afternoon. The wait staff was overly kind and accord atone of my husband and I and our baby. The server forgot to bring out one of our sides, but they gave it to us for free since it wasn’t served with the rest of the food, and our server was very apologetic. It was a very relaxing way to spend the afternoon with great food. I would definitely recommend this place.

This was my first visit, but we enjoyed the casual ‘Nawleans’ vibe. My husband and I shared a Muffuletta which was ample for us. The sandwich could have been hotter. The cheese was not melted and the sandwich was a little dry, but otherwise tasty. On to the beignets… boasted as the best on the island! Alas, they were raw in the center! The cook needs to cool his jets and give the food adequate time to cook. Service was friendly and attentive. Will try again for a better result.

Called in a pick order. Used a $ 15 coupon when you spend $ 30 from . Many establishments would raise a fuss over having to dine in in order to use the coupon. This place didn’t even raise an eyebrow. The food was absolutely delicious! The best shrimp and crawfish étouffée I’ve ever eaten by far. My wife had the shrimp pasta and the crabcake and it was equally delicious.

I was not impressed at all. Service was poor and we all thought they needed more training. Bartender did not know the difference between white Zinfandel and Chardonnay –she and the waiter actually argued with me about it! The gumbo was very watery, the jambalaya had no sauce and a tiny bit of rice, and the étouffée was mostly sauce. The bread was stale so it must have been sliced several hours before. We were not charged for water but it was listed on the receipt! With all of the good restaurants in this area, we will not be returning to this one. We wanted to give it a try and unfortunately, we were disappointed.

FOODISWONDERFUL… SERVICEISGREAT!1 Let me start this review with, my wife and I are both originally from Louisiana. My wife was born and raised in Crowley, LA. We have experienced good and bad Cajun food. After trying Little New Orleans I am unable to understand some reviews about this place. This is the REALDEALPLACE. My wife and I went and was waited on by Jami. This young lady has to be one of the best waitress I have had the pleasure of meeting. She was eager to answer our questions as well as to mention some of her favorite items. My wife ordered the fried crawfish platter with sweet potato fries and salad as sides. Crawfish was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the sweet potato fries were slightly seasoned a perfect«10». I have never been a fan of sweet potato fries but I would order these. I ordered the oyster platter with red beans with rice and potato salad. OMG, the potato salad is the best I have ever eaten. Oysters and red beans with rice were also excellent. Gavin(manager) came by the table is check on us and we got to talking. Gavin gave us samples of their gumbo, Cajun pistolette and jambalaya. All were extremely delicious. We returned the following evening to try other items on the menu and again we were both extremely pleased. Melissa waited on us this time and she was also very pleasant and friendly. We were sitting next to a couple from St. Louis and they had ordered the crab cakes. He said they had crab cakes this last time they went to Maryland. He said the Little New Orleans crab cakes were just as good. People need to realize this is in Alabama and catering to mostly tourist. Many have not tasted Cajun or New Orleans style food before and might not be able to tolerate the spicy foods. We need to remember spices can be added but not removed. Therefore if you like it hotter add some tabasco or Louisiana hot sauce which is on the table. All I can say is, service has been outstanding both times we have been there and food is the Real Deal. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food served. The sides item servings are not small. The Bayou Nachos are large enough for 6 to 8 people.

Ran into this place on vacation. The Bayou Nachos were great!!! I only ate half my meal due to eating so many nachos. They are big enough for 6 to 8 to share. I ordered the muffalata. It was good but a little dry. Wasn’t very full of meat. My buddy ordered the BBQ shrimp. He commented that it was great but really rich. Swimming in butter sauce. Kids enjoyed their meal as well, especially the key lime pie and beignet dessert.

The closest you will get to New Orleans food is the name on the front – we tried 4 dishes the gumbo was as thin as swamp water and tasted like it –the few shrimp were obviously left over from one or two days ago as they were dried out and tasteless. The red beans and rice were perceived as canned and plated with minute rice. I had the jambalaya which was also served with minute rice, dried out left over chicken and some small pieces of unknown tasteless sausage – I left this uneaten on the table. My partner had the étouffée which was full of some type of orange pudding mixture that had a foul almost sour taste and was full of dried out shrimp. —The portions were large but only because they were probably trying to get rid of this awful food — –Don’t go – save your money for a trip to the real New Orleans about 4 hours West

We tried this place on a busy Thursday night to avoid the crowds at the more popular restaurants. The staff was very accommodating for our large party. The gator bites were a little dry but the red beans were great, as good as we have had in New Orleans. The burgers and po boys were good. I recommend you give them a try as they are new and should improve with time.

Nice people but food was not good. Had a bad oyster, salad was decent, but the biggest disappointment was the gumbo. No shrimp in mine. My wife had 1. Very runny with little flavor. Hope this place is here next time we come to town. Not likely.

Typically I don’t believe one star reviewers who have no friends and no reviews. Especially seeing five star reviews. Little New Orleans restaurant does have great potential. I actually had food that looked appetizing, like the nachos. It has a sports bar feel without music, and or dare I say a very fancy waiting room at a garage. So ambiance is 4 out of 10. Service was actually very good. No problems there. The food; however, it reminded me of airport food or a hospitals cafeteria. I was somewhat flummoxed reading the one star review and the shrimp dish she ordered, that she eventually threw up. I actually thought if she was in the bathroom why didn’t she throw up in the toilet instead of the waste basket. I thought she was a liar. Now, I’m not so sure, I ordered the roast beef po’ boy with debris, fearing the shrimp. It now sits in my stomach like a lead weight. Devoid of flavor, texture, anything resembling a roast beef po’ boy with debris. Now, not wanting to dis the chefs, go to ACME in Orange Beach and order the same thing. I understand they have a hard job. And like I said something’s looked good. I wish them luck. Tourists will be going away soon. And, the probability of me coming back pretty bleak.

Oh my goodness! Love, love this delightful splash of New Orleans! Great seafood with an honest taste of the Crescent City! My husband and I were so thrilled to see this most intriguing restaurant open in the heart of Orange Beach! Excellent menu with creatively designed dishes mixed with standard, yet delectable offerings! My husband and I began by ordering the SEAFOODGUMBO(wow!) and the SHRIMP&CORNBISQUE! Both were perfectly seasoned and prepared. We could honestly have made a meal on these delicious soups, but kept eating like we had huge holes in our stomachs! Ha! Next to arrive was our fabulous mountain of fried wontons sprinkled with fried shrimp, crawfish, onions, peppers, and plenty of cheese …, BAYOUNACHOS!!! This is a ‘Must Have’ dish! This dish could easily be shared with probably 4 – 6 actually! Divine!!! Last… believe it or not, we split a terrific SHRIMPPOBOY! Yes sir! We were certainly stuffed to the brim, but couldn’t resist testing out a New Orleans ‘real deal’ PoBoy! Well, we loved it ALL! Even loved our very southern hospitality right from ‘hello and welcome’ at the front door! Our adorable and friendly server, Jaimi, was THEBEST! She worked intensively to be sure that all our food was good and delivered quickly, and that we were satisfied, as well as, our drinks were filled and tummies full! What a wonderful evening! I can’t end this review without throwing a huge hug for the best sweetened ice tea ever! I mean it! They serve Sweet Brew… you can’t find better! As we finished our meal, the owner, New Orleans native, Richard Montelaro, came to our table to introduce himself! Kudos to you, Richard! Your Orange Beach New Orleans restaurant is the real deal!!! We felt like we should grab our umbrella and dance a little ‘March’ as we left with our satisfied bellies to ‘When the Saints go Marching In’ and we found our way back to our car and on down the beach… thank you. Thank you!!! We will certainly be back!!!

I came in late so I’m going to give them a small pass. Service was quick at 9pm but there was only about 3 tables eating at that time on a Saturday. I had a bowl of gumbo and a beer and the bill was $ 13ish, So not too expensive. The low rating is because I had 1 shrimp the size of a dime and a pound of rice in the whole bowl. I might go back at an earlier time just but not if something else is open

My husband & I were excited to see this place. Someplace new and we love Cajun! My gumbo is pretty good, but I love to see how someone else makes theirs. We arrived fairly early on Friday night, around 7. Their grand opening was going to be the next night, they had only been open 2 weeks. Asked our preference about seating, we could be in the bar area(felt like a sports bar) with window, or in the back dining room. We chose the dining room. Plain, no music, no ambiance, but that’s ok if the food is good!(2 tables were seated in each room) Took quite awhile to get started. The water then finally the margaritas arrived.(she had said they were great, but they tasted like they were out of a machine) Waitress was knowledgeable about the menu. However, by the time we ordered, we noticed that another table that was seated close to us, got up and left. Seemingly nobody had paid any attention to them. We brought it to the attention of the server, and she said. I wonder why. they had drinks ordered?!! and then we had to get her BACK to our table to refill our drinks as she had not noticed they were empty while talking to us. Ordered the crawfish bread as an ap to split, and then the seafood étouffée to spilt. The crawfish bread was not bad. wish it had been toasted more, so it was crunchy. Seemed like lukewarm bread with cheese on top. The crawfish were plentiful. The étouffée was a different story. Looked good. but very bland. tasted like«Americanized cajun». Needed lots more trinity and more seasononing. then it suddenly occurred to me. This was SEAFOOD etouffe, not Crawfish étouffée. I saw 2 small shrimp in the entire bowl. and crawfish. That was all. We did finish it all. and watched another table walk out. No body had been to their table in the 10 minutes since they had been seated. The food was bland, we watched staff stand around(3 people were in the front room) there was no ambiance(give me some jazz and some beads please) Our $ 65 for split entrée, split appetizer and 2 margaritas each seemed over the top. We were not full, nor were we pleased with the experience. The kicker to the evening. we stopped at our favorite watering hole on the way home, halfway thru my first beer. i excused myself to go to the restroom. I spent the next 30 minutes throwing up in the trash can, and having painful diarrhea. We both ate the same. but I got the shrimp. things happen, even at good restaurants. but this just topped the evening off. My husband called the restaurant to tell them about it, so they could check their shrimp. and the comment was only. thank you, we will tell the chef. We will not be back, and I seriously doubt if they will last long.
