Shake’s is the greatest thing that has EVER happened to Florida… Well, at least to this side of the Buckman Bridge. Normal ice cream is so boring! The frozen custard at Shake’s is *pure creamy decadence.* This married woman can attest that eating at Shake’s is similar to «marital delights.» Their hot fudge and peanut butter Concrete makes me sigh with rapture! I’m not kidding. [Is my husband going to be offended I said that???] Instead of blasé milkshakes they have«Concretes.» Concretes are densely packed frozen custard. They are VERY difficult to suck up through a straw and better to dig in with a spoon! However, if you’re craving a milkshake or a malt, they have those too. The Sundaes are as *pretty* as they are tasty and they all have cutesy names like ‘Pink Poodle’ or ‘Dream Lover!‘ They blend in REAL ingredients fresh on order too! Toppings include: strawberries, cookie dough, fudge brownies, Oreos, Snickers, blueberries, caramel, Heath Bars, Butterfingers, raspberries, cappuccino, M&Ms, bananas, Reese’s Cups, and nuts. While Shake’s does not have indoor seating, they do have umbrella shaded tables outside. Your scenic view is a parking lot with a strip mall on one side and Blanding Blvd on the other. Is it pretty? No. Do you care once you’ve taken a bite of the frozen bliss? No. Dairy Queen? I’m not breaking my diet for that. Froyo? Been there, done that. Frozen Custard — Come to me, love of my life! [INSIDERSTIP: They have FREE«taste treats» for toddlers or dogs. And check out their website for coupons!] Get one to GO and you might not even mind the awful Blanding traffic driving home. ~_^

I got the shakes bebop. It was pretty good. They give you a ton of custard with quality toppings. I’m not really a huge icecream fan my sister wanted me to try this place out. I think if I go back next time, I’ll get something with bananas or fruit in it to cut through sweetness. But over all it was good.

For eight years I have been coming to shakes and always love trying new things when I am there! Their custard is AMAZING and so rich and flavorful, far more than any plain vanilla ice cream you would get elsewhere. Their concretes are are like a much better version of the DQ blizzard and their sundaes(especially dream lover) are to die for. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the last time I got a sundae, it wasn’t entirely solid when they gave it to me.(A one minute drive down the road and it was completely melted.) But this was a rare occurrence so I figure I’ll give them another chance.

Everything you get here is AMAZING!!!(shouldn’t really say that since I’m stuck on the concretes and milkshakes), but you get my point! Would so way rather have this any day of my life over yucky regular fattening shops. Frozen custard is by far THEWAYTOGO!!! :)

Had a Pumpkin custard thing last night. Wow! I can’t come too often or I will need to visit the tailor for alterations. So many things can be done to this delicious soft serve ice cream custard that the sky is the limit. Just add ingredients. They are made to your order. Drive up Soft Serve Desserts are back in the spot light it seems like the 50’s and then 70’s have returned in the 2010’s. Hugh?

Shake’s is the place for a summertime treat. Ice Cream cones, shakes, take home cakes, and best of all, their concrete«shakes». These are thick, creamy, flavored vanilla treats similar to the DQ Blizzard, but better. They are addicting! We have always had fast, courteous service with a smile.

Yes, the following should be read with a NJ accent; «Hey, youz guys wana go to tha custood stan?». I remember when I first heard someone say this. I had to think for a second, then realizing she was originally from Jersey, I surmised she wanted ice cream. I’m aware that a lot of homemade ice creams starts with a custard that is frozen in a churn, but still, I’m not sure why she called it the custard stand. It was Dairy Queen… I’m not sure why this place calls its product custard, but one thing is for sure, it’s not ice cream. Its an order of magnitude better than most ice creams I’ve had. Actually, there’s no comparison. Truth is, it’s hard to describe. It’s sweet, it’s cold, but the one thing that strikes you is, it’s smooooooth and it’s coat your tongue creamy. One taste is worth a thousand words. If you have calories to burn, go try one of their classic sundaes like a, Dream Lover, a Pink Poodle, a Heavenly Angel or a Banana Dana Split. There’s even one called Banana Berry Concrete, go figure. I especially like the fact that when you ask for pecans, you get whole salted and toasted ones. Soooooooo guuuuuuuuuuud. Now, stop drooling and drive over the ditch, fight your way through OP Mall traffic and indulge yourself. Then go to the mall and do 25 laps.
