HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHHOPES came crashing down way to fast here… =\ I came here for lunch during work one day with a coworker… well yeah I shant be heading back. Both of us were underwhelmed on multiple fronts. Pro Tip: Park in back, but make sure you are near the rear entrance, it can be a nightmare to find it. My coworker ordered the chicken and got the tiniest ¼ chicken chunk I have ever seen. It was like half the size of Boston Market… Talk about stingy. Heck I think a baby chicken would have been bigger. He said it tasted so-so. I got the pulled pork sammie and was equally underwhelmed. So absolutely ridiculously bland was it. Perhaps Robert Irvine or Gordon Ramsey should introduce them to Salt & Pepper or a seasoning rub. The meat was very average at best. The roll was nothing special. It tasted like a store bought several day old type that your Aunt Ruth wanted to use for thanksgiving because it was long and you could slather it in gravy and it wouldn’t fall apart. The best part were the frozen French fries… *SMH* The bbq sauces were not that special but they were sure trying to get you to buy them as well… At least they contained a little bit of flavor. Overall it was pretty bleh for the price. Quality and quantity were underwhelming and I think there are much better places to spend my money than on this kinda crap.

Had a saladwrap that was really good. Pulled pork, lettuce, tomato, corn, black beans and Caesar dressing all tucked inside of a big tortilla. Yum! :) The man had pulled pork and sausage with a side of coleslaw. It looked really good — he said was really good! Was disappointed that they didn’t have bbq brisket OR bbq chicken OR burnt ends. It was Friday night, 6:30pm and the place was pretty empty. Have more food on hand!

Beach Pit Bbq Brisket Sandwich– Beach pit BBQ. They’re kinda like the fast food of BBQ but they haven’t disappointed yet. Meat Is cooked very well, The meat is always nice and tender. Only thing is you have to add the sauce on your own because they only put a little on the sandwich, so it can be dry at times. The spicy BBQ sauce is not spicy but flavorful, i recommend it. Love this place, hate Lucille’s. Brisket sandwich and Mac and cheese. for more reviews with pictures and opinions of food, check my blog out at:

The food at Beach Pit is pretty good and will definitely satisfy your craving if you’re in the mood for BBQ, but I have to take off points because the prices are way too high for the quality & amount of food you’re getting. But it’s a really a nice, casual place to hangout with friends and get a couple drinks, so it definitely has a chill atmosphere. I usually get one of the plates of one cut meat. There are 6 types of smoked meat to choose from on any of your plates or sandwiches — pulled pork, beef brisket, turkey breast, smoked sausage, pulled chicken, or smoked veggies. My favorite is the Pulled Pork. It’s seasoned really well and usually really soft and tender. If you get the plate, it’s literally just a small-ish portion of pulled pork and a side of coleslaw for $ 8.99. It’s kind of ridiculous if you ask me. My friends have recommended the North Caroline Style sandwich and the Tri Tip Sandwich, if you want something a little heartier than just meat on a plate. I’d also recommend ordering one or two side dishes. I really like their french fries(cajun seasoning), sweet potato fries, and the fried okra is really yummy too. If you come during Happy Hour, which I think is half off select(or maybe all) appetizers, get the Chicken Nachos — $ 5, superrr delicious & big enough for sharing. I’m not exactly sure what the drink specials are, but I think they’re pretty good. Overall, this is a good choice if you want a casual, laid-back atmosphere and a place to get drinks and good BBQ, but be warned in advance that it’s a little pricey for what you’re getting. Service has always been good though!

I’ve been here twice and I’ve gotten the same thing: beef brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. I decided to come here because it’s walkable from my work and wanted to try something new. The meat was very tender and moist. I was able to cut the sandwich in half with a plastic knife without struggling so that definitely impressed me. Sweet potato fries were yummy and I’m happy I don’t have to pay a separate price for getting those fries unlike other places. I saw on their sides menu they had blueberry cornbread and I want to try it the next time I go. They also have blueberry lemonade which I need to try as well(if you can’t tell I’m a blueberry fanatic). Tuesdays they have beer for $ 2. Overall I thought this place was pretty good and I’d want to bring my boyfriend here to try other things on their menu like their ribs and other bbq items.

It was ok. I got the brisket sandwich and was not impressed at all. It was quite tasteless and the BBQ sauce didn’t make it that much better. I enjoyed their mustard BBQ sauce. The pulled pork sandwich was significantly better, and salvaged the night. I wasn’t impressed overall, but it will do if you need a BBQ restaurant to hit up. The sweet potato fries were among the top three best I’ve tasted. I thoroughly enjoyed their blueberry cornbread as well… The interior was very clean and decorated nicely. And it smelled like BBQ. That’s a plus.

Tried this place out yesterday night with my girlfriend. Overall thoughts, if you are on the run and who like to eat BBQ Sammiches, this place will do. Had the BBQ Brisket with a side of Sweet Potato Fries and all i can say is YUM! Only thing though is it really lacks flavor unless you drench your Meat with their flavor sauce. Aside from that, the Brisket was tender as F*$#… Love the fact we went so late and parking wasn’t much of an issue. Will try again!

How good can bbq be when it’s cooked at a beach pit? Yeah, I should have thought of that earlier! My friend and I stopped by this spot despite all the other nice restaurants in the area because we had a misunderstanding and both thought the other person wanted to eat bbq! What a tragic mistake, because the food here was downright disappointing! The guy who took our order told us that the tri tip was their BEST cut, and that the blueberry lemonade was really good and«unreal.» So we took his suggestions and ordered a half rack + tri tips with blueberry cornbread and sweet potato fries as sides and a blueberry lemonade. Total was about $ 25. When our food came out, it looked so sad and dry! You add your own sauce, which they have in bottles at each table. And my optimistic friend said, «Well, looks can be deceiving.» In this case, they were not. We were sawing at their ribs because they were so tough. The meats had no taste, and their BBQ sauce tasted like something from your old school cafeteria. If the tri-tips are their best and most tender cut, I don’t even want to imagine the other meats. The blueberry lemonade didn’t help either. It tasted funky and left a bad aftertaste, so we switched to the soda fountain, which was a lot better. The blueberry cornbread and the sweet potato fries were both okay. Compared to the rest of the food, they were pretty good. The staff was friendly though. Still, the food was a letdown. When there are other, better, bbq places that offer WAY tastier food for the same price, I don’t see how this place can stand to not improve the quality of their food. But until then, I HIGHLY suggest going elsewhere!

We went here last night. Both my husband and I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, I got regular fries and he got sweet potato fries. The regular fries weren’t very good, a little greasy tasting and the cajun seasoning hurt more than helped. The sweet potato fries would have been good, except for the cajun seasoning on it. The burger: mediocre. The buns they use are really weird tasting, and kind of smelled funny. The burger was kind of like a greasy burger you’d cook at home. Cheese, lettuce and tomato, nothing special. Bacon was dece. If you want to eat food like this, I’d rather go to Famous Daves. I wouldn’t eat here again, but it was okay.

I’ll gladly be the 100th reviewer of this spot, and honestly it’s time to be honest instead of trashing the place as if it were the worst thing to hit BBQ since TV dinners. First off, don’t listen to the 1 star reviews, this food is not bad. It’s actually pretty good, and there’s plenty of things you can order as well. I love getting sliders personally because I can choose up to three meats, and they’ve got bomb sweet potato fries. The pulled pork tastes a-ok to me, it’s not like the king of pulled pork or anything, but it definately meets the grade. I almost wonder if half the people here forgot to add sauce. You get sauce selections on the table, use em! They’re good! Personally I love the original one, think I might buy one next time. The beef brisket was a bit tough, but I’ve got no other complaints. Nothing blew my mind, but I find the sliders addicting and find myself coming back for more, and often. Plus it’s in a great part of town, what’s to complain about?

I would’ve given 5 stars if it hadn’t been for the location and the wait. I placed my order online hoping to save time, but when I got there, they didn’t even realize that there was an order waiting for them(they didn’t check their printer). So I had to wait 20 minutes instead of the anticipated 1 minute. Also, since this location was in Old Towne Orange, finding a parking spot was a challenge… but I can’t blame the restaurant for that. The food was delish. Here’s what I sampled: Timmy’s Texas Toast — beef brisket was tender and the Texas Toast gives so much flavor Cole Slaw — dressing is like a vinaigrette instead of mayo, which made it yummy(I’m not a fan of cole slaw because of the mayo). I did find a black bean mixed in though, which makes me question the restaurant’s food preparation quality. Blueberry Corn Bread — this cornbread made me forget how mad I was at the wait. This is a must-try! Blueberry Lemonade — also a must-try. I’m surprised no one else is trying to copy this. Blueberry and lemons make such a great combo. The blueberry flavor calms down the tartness of the lemons. Sliders — comes in 3, so I ordered one pulled chicken, one pulled pork, and one sausage. The chicken and sausage were just ok. I had to add cole slaw to give them some flavor. The pulled pork was as good as you would expect pulled pork to be. Mac n Cheese — ultra cheesy and you can taste the homemade wholesomeness. Sweet Potato Fries — a little over-fried, but portion is a good size. Overall, good food at decent prices. You can probably get BBQ just as good at other places, but the blueberry cornbread and blueberry lemonade makes this worth coming to.

Beach pit… hmmm what do I have to say about beach pit… pitchers of beer!!! that’s all I can think of when I come to this place… well that and sweet potato fries. I had their tri tip sandwich which was decent(it was a little dry). The meat wasn’t all that great and the portion size was small for the hefty price you pay. I’ve also had their ribs which is also, okay. Next time I go, I think I am just going to order sides and beer. Aside from their sweet potato fries the corn bread is pretty good(but if you mess up corn bread, seriously… get outta here!). Overall, not really impressed but a fun place to go/hang out.

I went to Beach Pit BBQ last night for the first time. It was pretty decent. I had a Tri Tip Sandwich with a side of macaroni. I really liked the macaroni and cheese. The Tri Tip Sandwich was just okay. I wish the meat were a little more tender and moist. The only other place where I’ve had tri tip is Stonefire Grill and their tri-tip is amaaaazing. Besides for that, it was a decent experience.

Ok, not bad. I wish they had baby backs which maybe would have gotten another star. Tasted pretty good. Not a resounding HELLYATHATS good but OK. They had the burnt ends of beef brisket sliders which totally sounded good but I went with a half a rack of St Louis ribs and fried Okra. Luv’d the fried Okra. Friend had the pulled pork sandwhich and sweet potato fries. Next time I will have to try the sliders. Its still sounds yummy almost 6 hours after having had lunch. DOH its dinner time that why!!!

We arrived before the lunch rush. Line was short and food came shortly. We had two associates who arrived during the rush and the line was long. My coworker believes he was in line for about 15 min to order his food. This is plausible because we had just finished our meal by the time they joined us at the table. The food is good, but I feel the portions are on the little side. I don’t believe I got value from the pulled pork plate for $ 8.45. Also the menu has recently changed. They now offer tacos and burritos [What!!!]

Working hard Beach Pitt employees and management have been working really hard to improve the whole dining experience. I wasn’t a fan when I first started coming, but over the past year I’ve seen this place really evolve. The menu has expanded for the better, the meats taste much better, new rolls for sandwiches are perfect, and the staff overall is much friendlier and more helpful. I find myself coming here once or twice a week now. Brisket and mac & cheese make for a fantastic evening. Beach Pitt ended up being a great fit for the circle and I hope it stays around.

So I was on a date with this«hopeless romantic» Perv and were on the way to Bar louie and this fuck wants to switch it up and take me to Orange circle, which I have no problem with but seriously out of the cool places to dine, here? I really thought we were going to the place next door, I forgot the name but that place had ambiance, full cocktails and just more my speed for a date. Not some cheap ass version of an already bad version of Lucilles. I will give the place a point just for having a cute looking spot with a fire place and comfy couches. Their menu is all weird how to order but whatever. I keep it simple stupid. So I order the St. Louis rib and my sides mac and cheese and fried green tomatoes. The ribs were luke warm, not tender but not dry. The fried green tomatoes were ok, the batter was a tad bit gritty. The mac and cheese was the only thing that was good. Sorry Beach pit BBQ but yhe only thing that keeps you alive is the nice service, you serve Stella’s and your in Orange circle. I won’t be back :(

I wasn’t impressed. It wasn’t bad… it just wasn’t great. And with BBQ, I’ve found that you are either fantastic or you shouldn’t have bothered. I had the pork sandwich. Meh. The meat was bland. The spicy sauce was okay. The regular sauce a little bland. The bun… a sad soggy mess. The ribs, however, received raves — but from a 7 year old. What was impressive, however, was the Mac & Cheese. I had wished I had ordered just that and not the BBQ pork — which is probably not what you want as a review for your BBQ place. The location and décor were enjoyable and the staff nice. Notice the lack of enthusiasm? Yeah, I think that says it all.

I’m definitely a big bbq fan, and this place is great. But I’m even MORE of a mac and cheese fan. and omg is their mac and cheese amazing. I am considering going and just ordering like 3 sides of it and having that for a meal. it’s only 99 cents!(or maybe you have to get an entrée to get it. I don’t know) But yeah, I went on a fun daytime date here and man was it delicious! Not only was I in great company, but I also got to enjoy 3 awesome sliders, each of my choosing. I got the tri tip, pulled chicken, and sausage. I think my favorite was the sausage! The chicken was kinda meh so if I went back I’d get brisket instead… or a second sausage one.

We went to the Beach Pit BBQ in our quest to eat at all the restaurants in Old Town Orange. We both ordered the pulled chicken BBQ sandwiches. We also got sides of mac & cheese, sweet potato fries, and blueberry cornbread. The chicken sandwich was good, but maybe a little dry. I don’t know if that was because of the chicken, the bread, or both. I had to put on lots of BBQ sauce. Their BBQ sauce was really good! The sweet potato fries were very good! The mac & cheese was bad.(Seriously, Beach Pit management… please take note. The cheese is cheesy, but it is almost completely tasteless! My wife totally agreed. You need to use a different cheese or do something so the flavor of the cheese is strong instead of very, very weak.) The cornbread was fine. Overall, the Beach Pit BBQ is a decent place and we would be open to returning for another visit.
