It’s great to have a craft brewery/pub in the Athol-Orange area. Honest Weight, which opened in late 2105, offers a tasty and unique assortment of beers. Filling sample cups, glasses, and growlers are owners/brewers Jay Sullivan and Sean Nolan, and brother Brian Nolan. Their expertise, passion, and pride in their product is very evident. Those who love hoppy beers will want to try The Tully American IPA, Mason Brook grisette, and Postcards From Seth session ale. If you like a golden saison with spice notes, Sunk Pond is for you. Being a dark, malty beer fan, my favorite is the Tom Swamp Road stout. Located in a former factory, the atmosphere is simple and inviting, with a stand-up bar and some table seating. They are planning to expand with a beer garden area in the future. Parking is free. You can bring your own food, and soon they will be having caterers with food trucks, which has been very successful at other brew pubs I’ve seen. A definite must-go destination for beer enthusiasts.

These guys are killing it! New brewery opened up at the bedroom factory in Orange, and we are glad to finally have a local craft brewer in the area. These guys brew are using different hops than most other breweries typically use, and are making top notch brews. Right now they are up to 5 different types of beer to fill growlers with, and awaiting approval to serve single beers. Right now, you can go in and sample all their brews for free, but they only fill growlers at this time. It is $ 5 for a new growler, and around 10 – 12 for a refill depending on the beer. They are making some delicious, juicy IPA’s, Saisons, and Ales so far, and they are all really good!
