This review is ONLY for ortho with Dr Yang. For general dental review I’d give her 3 stars (4 stars if they are not pricy.)
I really had high expectations from Dr Yang for the wonderful things I’d heard from my past colleague. Unfortunately she totally let me down. I was Dr Yang’s ortho patient with traditional braces. I was not happy when Dr Yang messed up my midline without noticing that until I noticed that and told her. Had I not told her she would’ve noticed that at very end and I would’ve been very miserable. I communicated to her as to why she did not notice my midline shift and she got angry at me at some point. Even though she tried very hard to fix my midline later but it was too late. There are some mistakes one must not make. There were other issues with this office such as Allen, one of the assistants, made my mouth bleed quite many times while trying to finish up what Dr Yang had left. Also, one time I was in big pain (not their fault) and I called in to talk to Dr Yang: I only talked to her on the phone without coming into the office, and later I received a letter from my dental insurance company that they got charged for that (even though I did not come in for any pain treatment and even though I did not pay out of my pocket for this incident and only the insurance company did, but I was not happy about this). In the end I left her office and did not finish my ortho with her for a couple of reasons. Overall, if you are serious about your teeth, you should not do ortho in braces with her because she does not have enough knowledge/​skills/​focus to deliver the kind of quality teeth you want (but if you want mediocre teeth then I think she is capable). She can definitely fix some minor teeth problems similar to ortho situations but not in terms of regular/​standard ortho treatments. In terms of regular dental work, she is very good but pricy, and I know where to get good dental work with better prices. For ortho in invisalign with her, I think she can provide good results as long as she keeps very good focus during every single treatment but you really do it at your own risks, actually with any general dentists I suppose. If you are very serious about your teeth in terms of ortho (either braces or invisalign), I’d recommend ortho Drs for any ortho treatment. Even for ortho Drs, I can tell you that the majority of them out there are really mediocre at best in terms of the «quality» you will receive for your teeth.
