Confession: I like a real juicy dog. I think Linx delivered on that. I mean, I got a vegan dog(but Chicago style, obvi) and it was actually pretty crisp but still quite delicious. It had been waaay too long since the last time I enjoyed celery salt. I also got an order of fries with the fry sauce and the housemade hot sauce. Mega hefty portion but as someone in our group note, great to take the leftovers home for breakfast potatoes in the morning since the fries are the box-y, thick fresh cut kind. Oh, and they have a nice little selection of draft craft beer and incredibly accommodating staff. Above and beyond here for sure.

Fantastic food and a great beer selection. Had a few different dogs and they were all really good. Especially liked the bacon blues dog. Fried are medium size and covered in Rosemary. Add in the sauces and not sure they get better.

They have a great take on dogs and brats. They have an amazing menu ranging from dogs that they’ve masterfully assembled themselves to create your own dogs. The fries and onion rings are amazing and seasoned very well. The variety of dipping sauces is amazing, delicious and so hard to choose from. They have 2 types of bacon sauces and 3 ketchups… that’s just a start. The beer choices are on point and fairly priced.

Mmmmm sooo good. If you’re in the mood for a major cheat meal, linx is the place to go. All of their ingredients are fresh and authentic. You can tell they make everything in house. The pretzel bun is really just something from heaven. They have a list of awesome hot dogs you can choose from or you can build your own. My favorite is the beer braut. They also have some really great fries and a whole list of sauces to choose from. The lemon garlic mayo is my absolute favorite. I am not a huge oatmeal cookie fan, but they have this apple oatmeal cookie ice cream sandwich thing that is absolutely to die for amazing.

What the what!!! If you find yourself in Orange, don’t miss this great little restaurant! I love the build-your-own hotdog concept to begin with. Marry that with unique, artisan-inspired toppings and links and you really get my motor running! And don’t get me started ok the fries!!! Great outdoor dining option for those wonderful SoCal days and nights!

Is it cannibalism if you feed your dog one of your hot dogs? My dog wouldn’t mind eating a hot dog at this place. This place has a wide variety of gourmet hot dogs. Very«haute,» crafty, artisan-like. Some choices to choose from include The Dogfather, Slaw Dog Millionaire, and so on. Names of hot dogs are creative. I really like the New York Water Dirty Dog. Belgian pomme frittes are really good. Dip them in their sauces! They have a ton of different sauces. The chorizo mayo sauce taste exactly like chorizo. To make it, I think they use the fat from the chorizo meat sausage and mix it with the mayo. So that’s double fat – extra dosage of LDL cholesterol – prepared for a heart attack? They cut up the chorizo and use it as toppings for some of the hot dogs. The habanero sauce packs extra heat on it. So be careful with that sauce too. Very good though. There’s 20 other great sauces to choose from. The place has great décor both inside and out. Not a lot of gourmet hot dog places around, so that makes this place special. Price is not bad – about $ 6 or 7. They have a decent selection of beer, but they didn’t have a single IPA on tap when I was there. Would definitely come back here again.

This is hands down my fav hot dog restaurant. Just about everything on the menu is delicious. I love all the sauces they have especially the spicy ketchup. The only downside to coming here is that parking is limited.

Linx is a neighborhood gem if you’re looking for gourmet hotdogs and sausages. The menu isn’t as diverse as Wusthaus or as whimsical as Dog Haus with their Hawaiian buns. Linx does provide a good combination of various sausages from your typical frankfurter to the german bratwurst, and with out breaking the bank. We came here on a Sunday afternoon, not realizing that the streets were closed for a Vintage Car event. Luckily we found parking about a block away, and at 11:30 the place had a line out the door. Fortunately, people were eating their food near their vintage car, so we were able to find 2 seats facing the street. The last time I was at Linx was about 2 years ago, and there were some changes in their menu. For starters, they used to have the menu on the chalkboard by the register. No one passed a menu in line, so when you got to the cashier, you had to peruse through the menu, while people were waiting to place their order. I inquired about the Currywurst, but that was no longer on the menu. I ordered modified version of the double down: a fried dog with chili, bacon, pinto beans, cheese on a poppy seed bun. I guess that’s a Deluxe Linx with added chili. Stephen had the Beer Brat, which was a Nurenburg style bratwurst, with bacon saurkraut on a pretzel bun, topped with a spicy mustard. Both were messy to eat, but oh so good! We added a large order of their fries, and had 4 dipping sauces: FriteSaus, Honey BBQ, Spicy Mustard, and Curry Ketchup. Since my last visit, they now carry Coca Cola fountain drinks, not just the independent colas in a bottle. Stephen had a beer, and it went well with his brat. Overall, it was a good meal, and we left satisfied and messy fingers(which could explain why they give you a fork and knife) but worth it.

Unilocal challenge 2016. 58⁄116 Super cool space in a area rich in history. Located a hop, skip, and jump away from The Orange Circle. Right next door to Waahoos. With late night hours. Offering burgers, dawgs and Beer. Order at the counter, I think? and they bring it over to you. We were never offered a table or welcomed. Just shown a menu, paid and sat. Not a whole Lotta interaction with staff. It kind of was what it was. So, if I am hungry and I don’t get my fill then its not a winner in my book. My Chicago Weiner was teeny tiny. Not as long and thick as I expected. And did not fill me up at all. In fact I was starving after we left. The flavor was okay. These are better than average dogs. Buuuuut I did not get that snap in every bite and the texture of my dog was a little weird. Maybe it was undercooked? The toppings outnumbered my meat and were spilling out with each bite. I used my fork to scoop up all the wreckage and into my mouth. The misters said his bacon and blues dawg was good. Not a whole lot of room inside. When I made my way back inside for some ketchup and the line at the register was long and I was claustrophobic. Outside there was plenty of self seating with perfect people watching views. Dog friendly seating too. Heat lamps were appreciated during our cool late night dine. This is also how I noticed they share the outdoor space with Waahoos which is supposedly Haunted. So trust me my 6th sense was on the lookout for anything lingering in the far corners. But nothing was there. $ 202 dogs and a large fry. We were both still hungry. I’m givinng it 3 stars. Based on Hungar factor, lack of service. Plus There are other 4 star dogs I liked more. #870

I’m not a huge hot dog fan. When I was a kid, I found hot dogs kind of revolting, actually. That’s why it really surprised me that I even tried LinX(on several occasions now) – let alone that I liked it! Heck, I’ve even introduced it to several friends. So much for not liking hot dogs. Apparently I just didn’t like those hot dogs that you buy at the grocery that I grew up with. I needed to class that hot dog up, and that’s exactly what you get at this place – a dog that goes beyond the mustard, ketchup, and relish you find on most tube steaks. Instead, you’re treated with«gourmet» wieners, a plethora of interesting toppings, and some great fries. My go-to frankfurter is the Sonora Dog, while my wife prefers the BBQ, Bacon & Blues Dog, but I’ve tried a few others and they’re all pretty solid. Come for lunch, get the special, and enjoy the fries with an ample selection of dipping sauces.

There is another place that should have been there when I was going to Chapman, but of course it wasn’t there. We really had it hard, not like the kids that go to school nowadays(I was too long in Colombia, came back a bit more dramatic, but it will go away) Linx have the must creative selection of sausages, and obviously hot dogs. They also have burger. The sausage flavor is very good, but in my opinion sometimes they overdo it with the seasonings/sauces, so f yo have a sentive palate be careful with the tasty and creative hot dogs. The look cure but your mouth will burn for a while, also mind your allergies before ordering. To accompany the meal they have yummy handcraft beers, kinda limited but well thought selection, general speaking something for each taste. The million dollar question is: Where were you guys when I needed you the most?

I have been here three times and I think it’s high time I give this place the review it deserves. This place is near the orange circle and close to orange train station. Amazing stuff: I have tried vegetarian dog and Chicago dog and can safely vouch for everyone that you can pick anything from the menu and you won’t be disappointed. I have also tried their buffalo chicken wings and they were delicious, especially the sauce. Oh and did I mention the prices are quite reasonable considering the yumminess factor of food. Good Stuff: The ‘cold and cheap ’(that’s the name!) beer is good. True to its name, they do have other options for beer though. Meh: The seating is kind of limited inside, I have however always found place inside. But sometimes in those rainy and cold days you may have to prepare yourself to sit outside. Parking can be tricky you would need to park on street in front of on Lemon street. Ambiance: The place is lively, not too loud not too quiet-just a perfect place to hang out with friends and eat some good food. I would definitely recommend this place if you are around the orange circle.

I’ve been coming here for months now, and for someone who doesn’t care that much for hot dogs, I love this place. Definitely my favorite place in the orange circle to grab some quick food. Definitely recommend the BBQ Bacon Blues Dog!(I’ve always gotten it without the honey mustard)

Great place to try some fancy hot dogs! I’ve had this bookmarked for awhile since I’m a fan of the old town Orange area, but never know what to eat there except Felix Continental Café and Bruxie. Linx has quite a few already-made specialty dogs at $ 6.25 each, but you can also customize your own for $ 6. I tend to be pretty indecisive so I opted to go for their own creations. I ordered the TJ Street Dog and my friend ordered the BBQ, Bacon, and Blues Dog. Both were pretty good, but if I had to choose one, it would be the BBQ one. I found the TJ dog to be much spicier than I would’ve liked. We also ordered a small frites($ 3.50) with chorizo mayo. Really tasty! These hot dogs are pretty heavy so one was enough for me, but the portions are by no means large. There’s not much seating inside, but they do have an outside patio. It’s a very chill place and the people working there are really pleasant. Mainly street parking, but there are a few parking lots in the area. I’ve never had a problem finding parking. Fyi, they don’t accept the 25% off coupon from the OC Restaurant Dining Guide booklet(came in the mail for me). Bummer, but it was only a few dollars so no biggie.

Cool spot in the Orange Circle. Place is pretty tiny with a much larger outdoor seating area. Once inside, it’s pretty cozy and you immediately see the solid draft list on their chalkboard to the left. Of course you need some beer to go along with your hot dog and Belgian style fries! I was feeling like a toddler, so ended up getting their corn dog haha. I know, walk into a gourmet hot dog place, get the only thing that’s fried on their menu. Pshh it was awesome, whatever: D No but seriously, the breading was amazing. Still soft in the inside, not that overfried crunch you get at most other places. You get to pick a couple different sauces with fries and there’s a handful of interesting choices. Reminded me of Wurstkuche in LA. Overall, great place to grab a drink and chill, while munching on apps or a hot dog. Good times!

Gourmet hotdogs seem to be gaining a lot of popularity these days, which makes me happy since I’ve always been a fan of these encased meat creations. If you’re looking for a quality hotdog, Linx serves up a solid selection of topping combinations, along with a satisfying list of craft beers, all in a clean and attractive setting. Call it hipster all you want, but the experience here is certainly elevated than that of your typical Nathan’s cart. You can choose one of their popular hotdog creations or customize your own dog by choosing the type of bun, linx, toppings, and sauce. The list of different linx and toppings are extensive, so you’re sure to find a combination that you like. We went with the T.J. Street Dog because it seemed like the most popular, and the Coney Dog because I’m a sucker for chili dogs. The avocado and cilantro on the street dog worked well to balance the spicy polish and smoked bacon, and was full of interesting flavors. The chili on the coney dog was a bit thick and dry, but matched well with the mustard and onions. My favorite thing about these dogs tho, was the potato bun. It was toasted nicely on the outside, giving the dogs a great texture. It was infinitely better than any regular or poppy seed bun, which tends to get soggy and fall apart. Although these dogs were impossible to eat with your hands, both of them were constructed nicely, and came with generous toppings. With the addition of a deliciously dark milk stout, I left pretty full and satisfied. Honestly, as much as I crave a good chili dog from time to time, I don’t really expect to be blown away from a hotdog. Wurstkuche and Wursthaus are probably the closest thing to making an impressive weiner, but even then, I’m left with a full stomach and a guilty conscience. So give me a spot where I can enjoy a thoughtfully prepared hotdog with quality toppings, and some beer on draft while watching some college football, and I’m a happy man. Thank you Linx, for making me a happy man.

My favorite sausage/hot dog place that I’ve had thus far. It doesn’t have the exotic meats that Wurstkuche does, but trust me, it doesn’t lack exciting flavors or ingredients. They’ve also got a nice selection of craft beers. Beer. Hot dogs. I’m in. Me and my friend started with the day’s special(a bacon wrapped hot dog w/ketchup, mustard, onions, and jalapeños) and the TJ street dog(spicy polish, applewood smoked bacon, chorizo mayo, giardiniera relish, avocado, cilantro, potato roll). I love the snap from the dogs when you bite into them. That along with the vibrant flavors made us crave seconds. So we ordered the frites and 2 more dogs: the Sonora dog(griddled frank, applewood smoked bacon, pinto beans, grilled jalapenos & onions, ‘trinity’, four cheese, potato roll) and the BBQ, Bacon & Blues Dog(smoked cheddar bratwurst, bacon marmalade, blue cheese-bacon aioli, honey mustard, honey BBQ, crispy onions, potato roll). The BBQ was my favorite of them all. It had the perfect sweetness and richness. When I finally realized I was down to my last bite, it was a sad moment. Why didn’t I slow down to savor and enjoy it more? Can I really fit another dog in me? I came to my senses and just finished the frites, which were crispy and not too salty. I can’t wait to come back to try the rest of the menu. I just need to find a couple more buddies so we can order one of each.

Sonoma Dog — Fresh toppings, great toasted bun, flavorless dog. Dirty Water Dog — Fresh toppings, great toasted bun, flavorless dog. I thought maybe the toppings were distracting me from the hot dog, so I took the hot dog out and ate it by itself. Literally could not taste anything. I felt good texture in the meat. The skin snapped the way a high quality, fresh dog should snap. But there was no taste, at all. It was really weird. When you’re a hot dog spot and your hot dogs are bland and boring. there’s something wrong. Sure the grilled onions, sauerkraut, and bell peppers were great. Sure the whole grain mustard was tasty. Sure the toasted crispy bun was a very pleasant surprise. But I don’t want to pay $ 7 for toast and kraut. Maybe if I had ordered the polish sausage, I would have been happier. *shrug* Dog Haus is better hands down, but I’m looking forward to a second visit to try their other options and hopefully will update with a higher rating because I really do want to like this place.

LinX has quickly left its mark on the area and become a staple of these parts when looking for some quality grub at fairly affordable pricing. They are definitely one of my favorite places in the area when it comes to picking up a quality artisan style sausage. LinX has around 10 «Haute» Linx favorite items on the menu as well as a full build it yourself menu. Select the style of bun you want(potato, poppy or pretzel), the type of sausage(7 types) and then all the toppings and sauces you want. You get 2 sauces and 2 toppings for the $ 6 price but more can be added for additional costs. They also offer a burger, burrito, wings, salads, corn dogs, giant pretzels and even a couple of sweet treats options. In both of my visits I have opted to create my own sausage and was pleased with the outcome of each. Please note that some of these creations are so big and hard to eat that they become more a knife and fork type of meal. On both visits I went with the spicy kielbasa and topped that with grilled onions, grilled sweet peppers and ranch dressing. My most recent visit also included pico de gallo and roasted jalapenos added to the mix. Both of these were cooked to perfection, the sausage itself was large and succulent while all of the toppings tasted fresh and really elevated the dog to new heights. On our first visit we opted to go with an order of the hot wings for a starter and they were really good but portion wise I felt that the size was a bit too small for the price(about 6 wings for $ 8) and despite the good flavor there was nothing really standout about it. The service here is always really good and the setup is quite nice despite the small dining area. A larger dining area is available outside as well that LinX shares with the Wahoos next door. The artisan lemonades and teas are also good choices to help quench your thirst for those who don’t imbibe on large number of craft beers offered. We went with Arnold Palmers during our most recent visit and the guy behind the counter asked our preference on the tea to lemonade ratio to ensure we got what we wanted which was nice as I tend to lean a bit more to the tea side as lemonade simply makes me more thirsty. This place is a definite winner in my book and I have quickly become a fan. It is no longer a question of if we will be back but more of when we will be back and I hope our next visit is sooner rather than later.
