Hidden Gem!!! I have lived in Orange forever and just found this place. Great food resonable price. Friendly staff went on a Monday morning and was not crowded but a constant flow of people coming in and out. My waitress said its crazy on weekends anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes or more on weekends. But it my opinion would be well worth the wait. Place will be one I will return to and look forward to and step out of my normal breakfast option country fried steak.

Been going to this place for years. Great mom and pop type food. The French toast is a must. Small dinning area can be packed when the car clubs plan to meet here. Only drawback for my family is they don’t have much for patrons with food allergies. My daughter has a gluten allergy so we often times find ourselves headed to The Original Pancake House, even though this place is only a few blocks from home.

I love places that crush breakfast. This is one of those places. I am a sucker for hash and eggs. I think this was my favorite presentation in years. Great made from scratch flavor. Will be coming back.

I will start with the food: I ordered the mixed berry waffles. Typical diner waffles. Nothing special: a simple waffle topped with generic canned whipped topping and mixed berries. Not sure if the berries were supposed to be in a compote fashion but my strawberries(and only the strawberries) were a semi mushy and bled the juice all over(being a food photographer this was a pet peeve) Service: I noticed that my boyfriend’s pancakes had a hair in them. I had the waitress come over and pointed it out and her response, «Are you sure that’s not yours?» I’m sorry, but in all situations, restaurant 101: The customer is always right. No, the hair was not mine, but to question my complain I found rather rude and offensive. Thankfully she returned them and brought him out a new stack. I am just still shocked at her response. Overall: The food was sup-par and the service was disappointing.

Cute small café in Orange. Their menu options are great. Everyone is sure to find something they love. I really enjoy their Crab Cake Benedict! It is a comfort food like no other. You can’t go wrong with their bacon and eggs plate either. Comes with your choice of hash browns, home style potatoes, or fruit. To top it off you get to choose from toast, an English muffin or pancake. All for about $ 9. I stop in here at least once a month on my way into work and it’s a great way to start any day!

Had the Denver pancakes… they were amazing! Only 4 stars because of the lack of space in the restaurant. Will come again!

Amazing!!! Great find!!! We came in for breakfast early on a Saturday morning. The wait was 5 minutes. The food was hot and served quickly to our table. The waitress was very friendly. The menu has a lot of selection and the prices are fantastic. The fruit here that comes on the side is cut fresh and crisp. The portions are perfect so come hungry. The scrambles are phenomenal. The hashbrowns are great add the onions and peppers! Yum!!! We will be back it’s worth the drive!!!

I came here for my birthday brunch, and it was pretty empty, so my party of three was seated quickly inside. The service is nice, mostly when there aren’t that many other occupants, and the food looks very delicious, but it’s not crazy good breakfast/brunch.

I’m sorry but I was not impress. The wait was pretty long(an hour wait to be exact) even though I saw tables available. I thought the food would accommodate for that but it was fairly mediocre for me. I came here because they had a variety of eggs Benedict and I was excited to try the crab cake Benedict. It felt short when I tasted it because the whole dish lack flavors – everything was a bit bland for me. I hate having to add on a bunch of other stuff like salt and ketchup just to bring out some flavors to my dish.

First time here on a Saturday morning around 11:30AM we got seated within 15 – 20 minutes after singing in. Was surprised we didn’t have to wait very much. If it’s your first time make sure to walk in and sign at the counter. The sign on the door«Wait to be seated» might be misleading lol. But anyway the food was far better than expected hand down. Very affordable for the amount of food and service you get. definitely coming back soon!

Awesome breakfast! Had the breakfast croissant with sausage with some delicious hashbrowns topped with onions and peppers. The croissant was super fluffy and went perfect with the egg, sausage and cheese. The place is kind of small so likely there will be a wait to be seated. The staff are super friendly and very attentive. There are lots of options on the menu and definitely have to come back and try another dish.

What a cute brunch place! I came here on a weekday morning so seating was right away. But still, I’m glad I came as early as I did cause the restaurant filled up fairly quick(I can only imagine what it’s like on a weekend). The décor reminds me of an all American diner. There’s approximately 10 seats and they’re all pretty small(2 seaters — 4 seaters). Our server was this super adorable old grandma, and she also always came to check up on us too! So cute :3 I ordered the Sunrise Scramble($ 8.95) & my friend got the crab cake Benedict. For the price you are paying, the portion and quality is excellent. I enjoyed everything I ate. The Sunrise Scramble came was an egg scramble with bell peppers, onions, and ham. The eggs were cooked perfectly and you can never go wrong with that combination. It also came with a side, which in this case I ordered the house made potatoes. The potatoes were so addicting! They were perfectly cooked and seasoned; it really paired well with my scramble. They were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The scramble also came with a side of toast; the toast was too buttery for me(heaven for some) so I didn’t really eat it. My friend who ordered the crab cake Benedict really enjoyed it! She also got a side with her dish so she ordered the fruit. She couldn’t finish the whole thing just because the crab cake was really filling and the hollandaise sauce was pretty thick. Overall, I really recommend this brunch place. It has a nice ambience where you can have a nice chat with a friend over a delicious brunch.

Delicious breakfast with the best hash browns ever produced by man! Benedicts are fantastic covered with a fantastic hollandaise sauce. Fresh squeezed orange juice to round a wonderful breakfast. I’m still eating but already looking forward to my next visit!

The wait is pretty horrendous(as is true of most good breakfast places), so don’t go here if you’re totally starving. They have a lot of great options, most of which are total comfort foods. If you’re food adventurous like me, they have a lot of unique combinations. I tried the biscuits and gravy style eggs Benedict and it was so amazing. I felt my arteries clogging as I wolfed it down. Their gravy was quite good especially with a bit of pepper added… And the concept itself was just out of this world. I could smell the delicious scent of my neighbors seasonal pumpkin pancakes and I wanted to pounce on her table to steal them from her. Service was so-so. They got the job done but it could have been much quicker and way more attentive. It was base-level service. Passable. The interior is cute and diner-ish… But definitely cramped! We enjoyed looking at all the license plates hung around the room. This place is a must-try for a hearty diner style breakfast with flair!

This is little diner has awesome breakfast. It was pretty busy on Sunday but the wait wasn’t too bad. Everything that was coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. But I had to get the crab cake eggs Benedict. I love eggs Benedict but crab cake eggs Benedict is even better. The crab cakes are very big I could only eat one of them. The eggs were nice and runny the hash-browns were cooked perfectly crispy on the outside while being soft and fluffy on the inside. The staff was super nice and very attentive. I have to go back to try another dish. I love breakfast of course, cause of the eggs. ;)

Orange Café is located off Tustin and Mayfair. It is in a very small plaza, so don’t blink or you will miss it. The place is small, but does fit quite a bit of tables inside. They probably had about eight tables that seated four, and about four tables that seated two, and two to three tables outside that seat four. I could be wrong on the count, but you get the point. It does get packed, so if you are up early, go early. I believe they opened at seven when we went on a Sunday. We arrived closed to 8:30 and it was packed and full with people waiting outside by nine. I already had my heart set on their gourmet omelet due to pictures on Unilocal. I decided to make it an egg white gourmet omelet. It came with mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese, avocado, and sour cream and spouts on top. I chose to make fresh fruit my side option and squaw as my toast of choice. I have to take advantage of squaw bread as a lot of places either don’t have it or mention it. I loved that their fruit was not canned fruit or just cantaloupe with honeydew. I know there was some cantaloupe, watermelon, apples, grapes, bananas, raspberries, and blackberries. The bread was soft and moist. The omelet was good too. I ate half and took the other home. I am not a huge omelet person besides at one place I visit in Cerritos. It was still good though. Plus, my appetite was MIA again. It seems to have been a pattern for the last month at our weekly breakfast trips. My husband had his heart set on something else.(I don’t remember what exactly), but had to regretfully change his mind because they could not substitute ham with bacon. I never saw that happen before. He ended up with the crème brulee French toast combo which also came with eggs and his choice of bacon or sausage. Once again he felt that the eggs tasted like Denny’s. I am not sure what is up with that lately. Luckily he really loved his dish. I think to be safe with me and my appetite, and also the fact that the pictures looked appealing, that I may have to try a fruit waffle next time. I know they have a strawberry banana waffle and a berry waffle as well as a few others. It’s a cute, small, quaint little place that seems to be quite popular. I will definitely be back to try other options.

Well, it is Father’s Day, and I needed to get out of the house for breakfast cooked for me. Orange Café is one of our new favorite places. It did not disappoint. I had the bacon and eggs. I’m quite fussy about my eggs. They need to be cooked medium perfect meaning that I like the eggs runny and the white part of the egg cooked. They do eggs perfectly(for my taste anyway). My wife tucked into the big Belgian waffle covered in fresh cut strawberries, whipped cream smothered with maple syrup. Another delicious treat. If you’re looking for a small restaurant with an old-school diner feel, This is the place for you.

In our ever ending search for quality breakfast eats, this week’s choice was The Orange Café. The morning started off a bit rough as my map app on my phone was having trouble pinpointing our location and had us turn the wrong direction off the freeway before quickly recalculating itself. We turned around and arrived around 8:45. Luckily for us they had plenty of open tables available and we quickly took a seat and our drink order was promptly taken. I would recommend arriving prior to 9am as this place got pretty busy by the time we left and by 9:30 they had several groups of people waiting for tables outside. Having done a bit of homework on the place prior to our visit I knew I wanted one of two things for breakfast, the Denver omelet pancakes or the crème brulee French toast. I looked over the board of specials lining the wall as well as the menu and did not see the crème brulee French toast anywhere so this made my decision clear. As I attempted to order the Denver omelet pancakes with bacon instead of ham(I am not a ham lover), I was told that this was not possible as the meat and other ingredients were already together. This threw me for a bit of a loop as I have never had any issues substituting for bacon before and how this wasn’t possible here is still a bit unclear to me. It was just prior to this that my wife found a second specials board located on the far wall behind me that had my crème brulee French toast listed so I went with this instead. Why they have different boards on opposite sides is beyond me as I do not have eyes in the back of my head to read this board but perhaps a specials sign located near the door or a printed daily specials menu or table tent would be a better way to go. My wife went with the specialty omelet with egg whites and seemed to like it despite her complete lack of appetite and half of her meal was brought home with us for later consumption. The crème brulee French toast came with 4 pieces and was perfectly cooked. The crème brulee topping was sweet but not too sweet and really elevated the flavors of the dish although a bit of syrup was still needed in my opinion. The French toast was reasonably priced and also came with 2 eggs as well as bacon or sausage and was quite filling. The service here was friendly and the food was delicious and came out quickly. I understand places get busy but the one thing that irritated me was allowing those waiting for a table to open up, to stand in the middle of the floor inside between tables as this is quite distracting to the other patrons. This is something I am seeing more and more and it creates this unnerving sense of urgency to finish my meal as they continue to stare down each patron, it can be quite an uncomfortable feeling. Most of the people waited outside so this wasn’t a huge issue but there was a few who claimed it was cold and hung out inside without taking a seat at the unused stools at the counter top near the registers. Overall this place was another great breakfast win in my book and despite a couple of minor flaws is definitely a place I would visit again. I highly recommend the crème brulee French toast if it’s on special as this was unique and quite filling. The prices are reasonable on most items, the service was friendly and the food is good and comes out quick. I will be back again soon.

Was visiting a friend in Irvine and wanted to grab some brunch before going out and about for the rest of the day. I found Orange Café on Unilocal — good reviews, lots of different options, and nearby — PERFECT! This is definitely a little mom and pop shop(the best brunch places are in my opinion), which I was happy about since I like to support local small businesses. I decided on their ‘gourmet omelette’ which had tomatoes, cheddar, mushrooms, avocado, bean sprouts, and sour cream(I opted for no sour cream). Along with house potatoes with peppers and onions and rye toast. The portions are huge — they gave us each four slices of buttered bread. But what is brunch if not a gluttonous meal? At least. it always is for me… Anyways — the omelette was really good(moist and cooked well), and the potatoes were fried diced spuds with some sauted green peppers and onions. Everything tasted really good after a little salt and some tabasco(I put that on all breakfast foods). The service was also really great — just one waitress working when we went on a Monday, she was nevertheless incredibly friendly and always there to refill our waters and coffees. Overall I would highly recommend Orange Café to anyone in the area looking for a solid brunch spot.
