This is the first Gourmet Food Truck I have ever eaten off of, and I must say it did not disappoint! It was NYE at a bar in Orange. They were there for the party and served an wide range of people. I had the opportunity to try the chicken jalapeño sausage, The Brig, the Pineapple Baked Beans and the Pork Sliders. All were very good. The thing to remember is that it is not a southern BBQ, but a southern BBQ with a Caribbean flair. It was spicy but no too spicy to lose the flavor. The friendly and highly accommodating staff prepared everything nicely. I highly recommend if you see this truck, stop and try it.

A number of unique offerings, served quickly and very flavorful. The tacos were good quantity for the dollar. Hard to go wrong!

I first tried Porko Rico about a year ago. I actually went to get lunch from another food truck, but it didn’t show up. Porko Rico was the only other truck there and the person I went with wanted to order. However, their menu did not look good to me. I ended up ordering what looked the least terrible option(Voodoo Tacos). I like jerk chicken. But, the thought of it in a taco didn’t sound great. Putting watermelon chutney on it sounded even worse. Thank god I ordered it. Those Voodoo Tacos are awesome. There is some sort of unnatural synergistic affect that makes all of the individual ingredients that should not be mixed together amazing together. The light, watery sweetness of the watermelon/fruit blends perfectly with the spicy and savory flavors of the chicken. I’ve brought many people to the truck since this first trip. The reviews on the rest of the menu have always been so-so. But, the Voodoo Tacos are a hit with everyone. The fries are pretty good also.

Just cause you have a cute name doesn’t mean you can cook. I’m so sick of all of these second wave food truck that are getting by on fad alone. All of the OG food trucks that were worth anything now have restaurants. Hopefully there will be another non-coattail truck soon. The buccaneer bowl tasted like microwave lean cuisine rice and beans, with a PINCH of pulled pork covered in generic brand BBQ sauce. Remember the lime truck?

Saw this truck parked at Vidcon at the end of July. Love the Caribbean BBQ concept. The menu contains sandwiches, tacos, and fries. I ordered the Cannon Fire Fries($ 9.99), containing a bed of fries topped with jerk chicken, jalapenos, peppers, cheese, and a jerk BBQ sauce. Easily the best item I had while in California. The juicy chicken had a wonderful sweet-spice balance. Perfect fries, yet it was the jalapenos and BBQ sauce that took it all to the next level. I did a video review of the fries with another food reviewer here: It’s a decent amount of food for the price, and one could opt to split this with another person as a smaller meal or appetizer. Hopefully I can track them down again next time for more great food.

I had The Brig and it was delicious. I love the mix of perfectly Caribbean style seasoned pulled pork, ham and bacon. The jerk spiced BBQ had just enough heat. The cheese was a great compliment. I could eat it every day. That is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had.

I’m not a big fan of barbecued pork, but these guys might have won me over. I literally just scarfed down 3 of their skull island tacos and wish my tummy could handle more. The meat was seasoned really well. The pickled onions gave it just the right amount of acidity but didn’t over power the pork flavor. The cheese and cilantro added a nice Mexican flavor to the tacos. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the grease factor. Just a tad bit too oily for me. Would I recommend them? Heck yeah! Would I try their food again? Most Definitely! You guys have a repeat customer. Can’t wait to see you again at the Discovery Business Center in Irvine. Keep the good food and good vibes flowing.

I live in an apartment village and we have food trucks come twice a week. At first I was not excited that this was the truck on a Tuesday evening(I am not a pork eater) so I quickly looked on their menu and saw that they serve chicken. My boyfriend and I were greeted by two very friendly guys on the truck. I ordered the chicken tacos which were absolutely amazing. It had a bit of a kick to it, which I love, and even had some mango salsa. Next time I want to try the Puerto Rican style rice bowl with chicken. Very yummy and can’t wait for them to come back!

Strolling through the FoodTruck scene at Star Wars Celebration, and what do you find?! Porko Rico! I had to reread it a few times to understand it is not called«Puerto Rico BBQ» and starting dying when i read it as Porko Rico! I knew this would be good and definitely was one of my favorite meals of the weekend! after trying the other trucks(not that i tried all 20 that were there but a few) i wish i just returned to Porko Rico each meal and ordered a different dish! oh well, this time I ordered the captain porko fries which were about $ 10 The fries were not so «thick cut» at least when i think of thick cut i think more so steak fries, but they were fried nicely, but wish they were more well done for the amount of saucy meaty goodness in this dish! There was also a season-salt spice mix concoction powdered over the fries prior to the toppings which gave it an extra nice kick and spice flavor, a more dry texture but a good one to the overall dish the pulled pork was heavenly, pull apart tender, juicy, flavorful, and a whole lot of meat! the mango slaw was good, but do wish there was some more mango chunks in there to taste more with the meat, and the beans were fresh and soft! the citrus sauce was tangy and not drenched but just enough to have all over the fries and meat! Porko Rico, i would be happy to return!

One of my more favorite food trucks. Huge line, but they got through people at a reasonable pace-ish. Took me 40 minutes to get through line and to get my food. Pros: ++ The Brig was meaty. Really meaty. It had pulled pork, bacon, and ham and they were all pretty good. Just wish that it had more jerk sauce. Cons: — Side of fries was $ 4. Wut. Overall, the wait took up most of my lunch break which wasn’t the beez kneez and the burger was delicious but not completely filling.

Good food at a reasonable-ish price Got the skull island tacos and cannon fire fries. Skull island tacos were my favorite. The good: Those onions on top just gave the taco the best crunch and extra touch of flavor that was needed. As much as I hate cilantro it surprisingly complimented the taco well enough that I didn’t mind them in my food. Yummy yummy pork The bad: there was supposed to be a garlic sauce. I saw the sauce but didn’t taste th Garlic :(but that was ok the onions made up for that missing sauce Cannon fire fries weren’t shabby. Not as good as the tacos but still yummy. The good: really well seasoned fries. Yummy slaw. Great over crunch and combo of flavors. The bad: Slaw on top hid the pork. Seeing the meat would have made my mouth water more. Overall great food truck. Didn’t know they existed until today. But now I’m a fan! Edit: forgot to add a little shoutout to the super awesome staff at the truck. :) nice friendly and helpful.

I was stoked to find these guys during the Gourmet Lunch Truck Thursdays by my work. A new lunch truck to try! Pork. Check BBQ. Check Lunch Truck. Check. Kitschy name. Double check! Like moths to a flame, yuppies everywhere crowd around lunch trucks and my friends and I decided to give this a shot. I ordered the Cali Pirate Fries, $ 9: Fries topped with brisket, pickled red onions, cheddar cheese, and avocado sauce. Heaven! The staff was friendly, and my food was given to me in less than 5 minutes by a dapper looking dude with the perfect hipster ‘stache. Fries were crispy outside, light as air inside. The brisket was flavorful, tender, and smoky. The pickled red onions gave it a nice tang. Money well paid for.

The Porko Rico BBQ is amazing… Best Food Truck I have had. I work for a apartment community in Laguna Niguel and have trucks out every other week. This is by far the best truck we have had. All the residents love this truck and always asking for them to come back out. Must try… the BRIG is the best…

OK, how many vegetarians out there would get their hopes up for a place called«Porko Rico BBQ»? Well, the last time that we visited The Bruery, the truck was there, and I was interested in checking them out, but my vegetarian wife was not as enthusiastic. We looked at the menu board, and saw«Tofu available upon request». We asked about what the tofu could be substituted for, and we were told that they could add it for any menu item(and omit the meat, naturally). We picked one of the fries dishes(I don’t think I see it on the online menu here), and it was delivered to our table at The Bruery in about ten minutes. The tofu had been marinated in BBQ sauce and was very flavorful. What a great topping for the fries! It’s a perfect bar snack, so definitely check them out when you get a chance. We told them that they were as good as The Viking Truck(which serves veggie sausages), and, wouldn’t you know it, they have the same owner! How cool that two trucks that concentrate so much on meat should also have veggie options? Good for you, Porko Rico BBQ! Thanks for accommodating us. I hope you have those Cannon Fire Fries the next time we see you. N.B.: We were told that the rice was not vegetarian. If you have a dietary restriction, be sure to let them know before you order.

Read no further the best bbq around! The brisket and pulled pork are on point! We specifically go to food truck nights just for Porko Rico. Since day one we have traveled near and far to put their deliciousness in our mouths! Also, not only is their food great but all of the guys are super awesome and nice! We like/have tried: Captain Porko Fries, Black Beard Brisket, THEBRIG, Barbosa Grilled Cheese, and Pillager Pulled Pork. Although our all time favorites are the Captain Porko Fries and the Black Beard Brisket. OH! And I truly miss the brisket with pesto sandwich… that thing made my life! Bring it back! :)

Found them outside Noble Ale Works in Anaheim last week. Slowly perused the menu. It gets slightly blurry as you drink IPA. It would be cool if they could make a menu, or a set of menus, that progressively reverses those effects as the night goes on. Any who. The food was fantastic. Standard burger patty attempted to be cooked medium rare. Glad they asked but you can’t do that with thin patties. What I truly enjoyed was the fact that the guys in the truck said I could put anything on it that I want. Looking at their menu makes the mind start to concoct the perfect topping combination. I saw bacon from the Brig, the slaw and sauce from the pulled pork, and cheese to top it off. I wish I could comment on the shipwreck brisket sandwich, but my lady friend inhaled before I could get a bite. Fries that came with the burger were great. Love the guys in the truck. Good guys who were enjoying what they were doing and made great food.
