This place is down the street from Plan B Burger Bar, has better food & service at better prices… I’ll GLADLY go here any day of the week INSTEAD of plan b burger!!! Great food and service!

Truffle burger was amazing! Atmosphere feels high end with plenty of options on tap. Great lunch and dinner spot.

One of my biggest complaints about restaurants is the amount of food you get for your buck– haha! But seriously– this place is no exception. I love their food! However, last time I had a burger and onion rings, and it was 18 dollars. And there were like 7 onion rings! Not that big either :(also, when I get their salad and add a veggie burger to it, it’s also pushing 20 bucks. Come ON! Alas, we continue to eat here, as it’s tasty and close to home. Five stars for taste, down to three stars because of the price issues.

This malformed roll is Prime 16’s attempt at a «pretzel» Please let me direct the attention of Prime 16’s executive and culinary staff to this helpful page: If you get onto an «aircraft» and it goes underwater that’s a Submarine. If you get into an «aircraft» and it goes into space that’s a UFO If you get a «pretzel» in the shape of a roll — it’s, well, a goddamned roll with salt on it. On a positive note the ice water was cold and refilled without asking. The décor is woody and the server served.

Prime 16 has consistently good food, consistently good beer selections, and consistently good service. I used to frequent the New Haven location, but I made a permanent change to the Orange spot, since you can actually see your food and hear the people sitting with you. Every time I’m here, I am seated quickly, and my drink order is always taken quickly, as well. The pours are consistent, and I appreciate the ever changing beer list(and love that there’s almost always a sour beer on the menu). The(I’m assuming) manager always makes sure that we are satisfied with our trip, and I appreciate that this place is dedicated to customer service.

Absolutely one of my favorite all around places ever. My husband and I come here at least once a week and have never had a bad experience. The bartenders Sara and John are one of a kind and always make us feel welcome and appreciated. They are so knowledgable about all the food and their many many beers on tap. I strongly recommend this place for any occasion! Great job Prime 16!

After years of enjoying Prime 16’s New Haven location, their Orange location presented a wonderful option. Their stuffed portobello appetizer may be light, but is made up for by taste and texture. My lamb burger — a slightly overlooked medium rare — had good taste, surrounded by a layer of feta. The Tzatziki sauce — more of a dressing — left a bit to be desired in consistency, while taste was quite good. My wife’s cheeseburger was quite perfectly done, however, amidst a bed of 50⁄50 regular and sweet potato fries. Excellent service to top it all off, Joe, our waiter made the experience smoothie and quite enjoyable for us.

Ever since we discovered Prime 16, we can’t go anywhere else for a burger. The half bacon burger is our favorite and go to burger. Have also had the grilled cheese which is unique and lighter then you would expect since it is made with goat cheese, mozzarella, avocado and spinach. Fries are good(but not the best I have had). They have awesome wings and just tried the buffalo dumplings which were sooooo good! We have always had great service, but we don’t really drink beer which is what most other helpers complain about when it comes to service. However, the few times I ordered a beer, the waitress/waiters seemed knowledgable. Free refills on soda is a HUGE plus these days. Would not recommend getting dessert — options are very limited, we have tried each of them and we are never happy with them. With the size of the burgers you don’t really need a dessert anyway.

We held our rehearsal dinner at this Prime 16 location. We have been long-time fans of the New Haven location and this site can accommodate a much larger crowd, so we contacted them via email six months prior to the date regarding a large party(42 adults in total). All behind-the-scenes communication in drawing up the contract was prompt, friendly, and professional. First we worked with Larissa, and then after she left the restaurant we worked with Lauren. We selected our food menu from a tier of 4 different options and opted for an open bar for the duration of dinner(though they offered alternatives like drink tickets or capping alcohol cost). The only downside was that we had to sign a contract two weeks in advance committing to pay for the full number of guests, regardless of whether they all attended(and more than half were flying in the day of the dinner). Ultimately it ended up not being an issue since everyone made it, but I thought this would be helpful for others to know, as it was less-than-ideal from the customer’s standpoint to commit to paying for everyone regardless of their attendance. On the day of, they were very well prepared to manage a large crowd and had servers dedicated to ensuring things ran smoothly. Our group was too large for their private party room(42 adults + 3 children, private party room seats 30), so they gave us two rows of booths/tables on the far right side of the restaurant. They were patient in delaying the start time as many of our party were ~30 minutes late due to travel, and served drinks while we waited and mingled in our section. The staff members were courteous, prompt, and friendly. The food was, for the most part, the Prime 16 food we have loved for years. Minor mix-ups and errors here and there(to be expected), and burgers ordered medium rare came out medium, which is the main place it seemed noticeable that the kitchen was impacted by such a large crowd. This usually does not happen when we come in smaller groups. Overall, we were thrilled we were able to have our rehearsal dinner here and the staff was great in making the event go as smoothly as possible. The food was not completely up to par with our usual experience at Prime 16, though was still quite good and we were extremely happy with how the evening went.

So I have never been to Prime 16 or plan B. I had read a lot of reviews that mention they are a knock off of Plan B even though they have been around longer. I got there at 6:50 pm just squeaking by for Happy Hour. I had a 4 $ beer and it was very tasty, I will say happy our made me purchase the beer. I was not planning on drinking. I also had a Bison Burger with Truffle Fries. I love a good Bison burger and I have to say this is the best one I have had all year. The fries were perfectly seasoned and hot. Service: My server Holly W was super nice. She was quick to double check if I needed anything. Sometimes when you are a party of 1 you can get poor service but not with Holly I truly felt like she wanted me to enjoy my meal. I will be in this area for a few weeks and plan on going back.

I like this place and I’m a regular. The food is very good and always tastes fresh. The burgers are no question hands down better than Plan B. The martinis are also large and tasty if you’re into that. Substantial beer list. They always have 30 different beers on tap. Want a cool menu hack and doing the low carb thing? Order a Cobb salad with a burger on top instead of chicken. Soooo good. And it’s only $ 13! Try ordering that at Plan B. Not gonna happen! Their«burger in the grass» is a sad patty sitting on top of a wedge of undressed iceberg lettuce. For that tasty treat, you’ll pay at least $ 13 if not more. You can order a green salad for your side, but it’s just boring mixed greens. Prime16 will give you bacon, avocado, egg, cheese, delicious dressings aaaand a burger cooked to order instead of only«pink» or «no pink» like Plan B. Keep it up, guys! *to the person who said Prime16 is a knockoff of Plan B, Prime16 has been around for a long time in New Haven. its certainly not a knockoff. It’s also definitely not more expensive as stated.

Your experience here will always depend upon how busy the restaurant is at the moment. When ¾ full or less, you can rely upon attentive service and your food prepared the way you order it; especially important when eating burgers. Nice variety of burgers and a great pretzel bun. Excellent BLT!!! Delicious bread enhances the flavors. The fries will vary as to the cook of the moment; sometimes crisp & perfect, otherwise, mediocore. When done correctly, can be excellent, especially the sweet potato fries. The moment they are busy, the service falters. Obviously, management doesn’t believe in having enough people on hard to provide excellent customer service. The servers try their best but cannot keep up with increase. Can be loud when full of people. Nice assortment of beer and a great place to enjoy a flight.

I’m giving them three stars because my bf had the Honey Truffle Burger and he said it was amazingly delicious. I wasn’t in the mood for a burger, so I tried the shrimp scampi. It was okay. The shrimp seemed a little under-cooked to me and they didn’t have much flavor, like they were frozen not fresh. The scampi sauce was also just ok, very oily with not a lot of great wine, garlic, lemon flavor you’d be anticipating. HUGE30 choice draft beer selection, very nice dining room and bar areas. The hostesses were super nice and immediately gave us a heads up to a bar table that was open to avoid a wait. Our adorable server Jaclyn was on her game and rocked! We tried the bread pudding for dessert which was very dry, but the ice cream is Ashley’s so it was killer. This is a knockoff of Plan B Burger Bar. Higher prices($ 17 for a burger & onion rings!) similar menu, same atmosphere but a little more casual then PlanB. I think Plan B is much more classier and somewhat less expensive.

Stopped in on the way back from a long work trip. The place was packed on a Wednesday night. Luckily, I found a seat at the bar. Found it odd that the beer menu didn’t have prices. More on that later. Took the bartender a few minutes her to realize I was sitting there. First time here and they have a decent draft list. Ordered the Ayinger Maibock($ 11) as is I looked at my dinner selections. Decided to go with the Maui Burger beef patty topped with pepper jack cheese, smoked applewood bacon, maui onion, grilled pineapple, & lettuce with a side of tropical mayo with the Cajan Fries. Ordered another beer, the Weyerbacher Brewing Company Tarte Nouveau($ 6) then my burger arrived. Not a terrible wait considering it was a busy night. The burger was ok at best. All I could taste was the bacon and the pineapple. The tropical mayo was good, but it seemed to be an afterthought. The Cajan Fries were good, but could have been a tad spicer. Finished my meal with the Evil Twin Yin($ 7). That beer was spectacular. The bar bill was twice the price of my meal. I I would had known that Maibock was $ 11 wouldn’t have ordered it. All and all, it’s better than going to a fast food chain place. I will probably go back again if I’m in the area. Won’t be my go to first choice.

Been here twice and the service has been beyond exceptional. I’m in love with the italiano burger which speaks to my soul. The atmosphere was very layer back a bit loud at times but manageable. The bear variety is very good and the flight taste deal they have is a good way to taste a couple. The cajun fries we’re great as well.

Food was decent, service albeit friendly — dreadfully slow. Ordered drinks upon sitting down, and waiting 23 minutes for them and to order. Ordered a buffalo wing appetizer — wings came far too fast to have been freshly cooked(only timely experience we had), but the sauce had a good flavor. I could imagine them being very good had the chicken not been dryed out under a heating lamp. I requested ranch opposed to blue cheese, didn’t happen and by the time I ended up tracking down my waiter the table had finished the plate but I had one wing, because I wanted to dip in ranch. Win some. Loose some. Burger came out, not cooked as I ordered(medium) it was more medium well, but it had a decent seasoning to it and the toppings were far better than area burger joints. The bacon. Hello! Perfect mix of chewy and crunchy. Although it took about an hour from our initial entry to get it. I ordered truffle Parmesan fries as my side, which I could have easily devoured another few helpings of. After lunch our table ordered another round of drinks(try the outlaw or the bourbon peach tea, both refreshing and yum!) tasty but took 15 minutes. The food is what I expected of a local burger joint on the Post Rd, but with so many other options in the area with staff that seem far more eager to actually feed me, I can’t say I would be back — but my stomach was satisfied. My 3 is generous, a 2.5 would suffice.

Not too shabby! In fact, pretty darn good food, service and beer. Went in for lunch and ate alone at the bar. Had the Vermont Chicken Wrap, mozzarella, chicken, bacon and honey Dijon sauce. Opted for a mixed greens salad as my side dish, which was not just a tiny bowl of greens like most places, but an actual salad with carrots, onions, carrots and tomatoes. Paired that with the BBC Coffee Stout Nitro after noticing a very nice beer list. It was a little expensive at $ 7/glass, but I hear happy hour offers half priced brews. I’ll be back. Especially for the burgers, which apparently are some of the best around. Can’t wait to put them to the test. By the way, the waitress/bartender was nice and quick to serve, the atmosphere was on point, and it’s in a great location.
