Decided to find a new place for carne asada since we were recently let down from our former place. Found this on Unilocal and was not let down. The meat is a perfect cut, not too thick and not too thin. Seasoning is on point as well. Even after grilling it the seasoning stuck around. We will definitely return.

The carne asada was delicious, and the guy working was very friendly. He even offered some chips and salsa while I waited for him to prepare everything. Price was good on top of everything.

Best meat in town by far! When ever I’m in the area I always make sure to stop here for my meat! The meat here is always fresh and the people there are always helpful! Their Ranchera meat was seasoned perfect I didn’t have to do anything but throw it on the grill and enjoy! Make sure to stop by, you won’t be disappointed! Thank you for providing The City of Orange with fresh delicious meat!

New to Old Town Orange area and was ready to bbq. I was looking at all the carnicerias in the neighborhood and let’s be honest, there’s a lot! Driving down Tustin and saw this sign for a carniceria that was tucked away next to a church, barber, and thrift store. In my head I thought, «Heck yeah! A hole in the wall kind of place!» Best carne and pollo asada I saw yet! Very pink and fresh, looked like it was marinated perfectly. Cooked all of it that night for the family and will definitely be going back! Highly recommend going here for your next bbq!

Awesome Carne Asada! Bought some shrimp for the wife and it tasted super fresh. The people that work there are real friendly. This is a little store that packs a wall up. I highly recommend this place if you want some authentic mexican products. See you guys soon.

This place is terrible. I used to come here very often, but then they changed management and it went downhill. My most recent visit went like this, walked in with my mom and the first thing we’re greeted by is the stench of meat, like it was rotting. I have been to many other carnicerias and none smell like this at all. Then we see a line of people trying to get help, and the cashier is on the phone and helping some guy. He glances at us and says what do you want? I tell him, he charges me without saying a word. We left after that. The only reason I went here was because this was the only store still open and I needed or thing very desperately. I will not be back again.

I always go to Ramona’s to get my baby back ribs for the smoker. When I first moved to Orange, I shopped around at the local supermarkets, then at other butcher shops, and I finally settled on Ramona’s. Great ribs!

This is a great little gem in Orange. I like the fresh meat and cheeses they had on display. I pretty much found everything I needed but didn’t have to wait in a long line like at the grocery store. I prefer these local family owned businesses anyway. Check them out!

I’ve been sampling some of my local Carnicerias — gotta be ready for the next party! I had been into 3 places on this particular Saturday — one was packed with people, and the meat looked dry, one was really hot inside, smelled funny, and everyone working there was standing around outside. I expected Ramona to be strike 3, but instead 3rd time was a charm! Parking was no problem. It’s mostly a liquor store, with a few deli cases to the left as you walk in — I was concerned. The butcher had an upbeat, friendly greeting for me right away, in English, which was cool — I can hang with some Spanish — but English made it easier to ask certain questions. He was genuinely interested as he answered my questions and discussed the various meats and cooking styles. The Deli is small — butcher explained that he has no freezer area — his meats are delivered fresh, 4 times per week. He noted that the marinades were their own house recipes. All of the marinades were citrus based — I like that I saw plenty of liquid marinade and fresh oranges in the case. Also no onions, pineapple or bell pepper — which is a good thing — I would prefer to have those items separate for those who want them. 3 styles of Carne preparada– flap meat, sliced chuck, and chopped up chuck. The chuck is about a buck a pound cheaper — I don’t usually go for the cheaper cut, but I wanted to try them all — the chuck ones turned out to be tough/chewy — won’t be getting that ever again, anywhere! The flap meat Carne Asada was very good — tender. Chicken was decent — not the best or worst — it was a cut up mix of light and dark meat. I liked the pork, also pre cut up — but it was a bit too spicy for my wife(she does not eat anything hot) — so it would be #2 for our tastings, however, I found it very good, and I imagine most of you will also. Prices were good, but they were very limited on other items, so it would not be one stop shopping for your meal. Cashier was friendly also — they take debit and credit cards — there is a 10 dollar minimum for credit cards — or there is a 50 cent charge. Overall, the rest of the market for actual groceries would be a 2 – 3 as a market, and a 3 as a liquor store. Service is friendly and they seem to really care about and appreciate their customers. It’s pretty comparable to La Reina, and less crowded on weekends! If you live near this place — give these nice folks a try and see what u think!
