Though there is no taco Tuesday here, and tacos are a bit on the expensive side($ 3 each), Taco Adobe is definitely worth the moneyz as their MAHIMAHI tacos are mouth watering good; one of the best I’ve tasted. Love that they give a bag of chips and salsa with to go orders and free chips and salsa with dine in. Their salsa is on the sweet side, but still very delicious. Located across the post office, they have a tiny private parking lot and seating for max 30 people. Know what you want beforehand as they are extremely busy and won’t give you the time of day. My suggestion: MAHIMAHITACOOOOOOOOS

First time trying this place in my home town and I got to say I loved it ! There burritos were excellent would definitely recommend it if you love Mexican food and fish The beans and rice are the best and the food isn’t oily like other places so clean for a hole in the wall place :)

My favorite item is the calamari steak taco/burrito. It’s so tender and complements the cabbage and sauce just right.

This is a small Mexican joint everyone should have. The chips and salsa they serve as soon as you walk in is just perfect. Chips are not overly salted. Salsa is not spicy but smoky. It was so good that I asked for refill. I had horchata for my beverage. I had Carne Asada Taco and Calamari Taco. They were both very very good. They have several kinds of seafood tacos. I didn’t try other items like enchilada and quesadillas etc. I will try other items next I go there. Service was really fast and great as well.

Had the blackened chicken taco. It was tasty but not at all spicy. Same for the salsa. Tasty, not spicy. House salad was very good. Fresh.

Taco Adobe never fails to amaze me! Me and my boyfriend always eat here and they have the absolute BEST tacos! I only order tacos from here, no other tacos compare

Not the best Mexican food. It’s not authentic. The rice taste semi crunchy. Over priced for the quality. –Kay Von Kakes

Very disappointing dinner here tonight. After many recommendations from friends to give it a try, I decided to stop by tonight. They must have been understaffed because we had to wait fifteen minutes at our table for anyone to notice us. We also waited a full half hour to get our check after requesting it as we sat outside as the night got colder and colder. Food was good, but nothing fantastic, especially given the myriad of better Mexican options to be had within a few miles for cheaper. Finally, there were two unexplained(albeit small) charges tacked on to our fairly pricey bill. At that point we were shivering outside and just decided to bite the bullet and leave. 2⁄5

Came here with my coworkers today for lunch. We found out about this spot on Unilocal and came here based on the reviews. Ordered a carne asada burrito, added guac, to go. Came with chips and salsa. Cost about $ 10. Burrito was good, came with rice, beans, cheese, cilantro, and I added guac. Best burrito I’ve had so far in the Santa Ana — Orange area. Location is small and tables are pretty compact, so I don’t think I would eat inside for that reason. Other than that, I would recommend and would come back again.

Paid almost 10 dollars for a «carne asada» burrito, but guess they gave me the good ol’ rice burrito instead. This place is disappointing. I’ll let the pic speak for itself.

Fantastic tacos and vibe! We went to Taco Adobe yesterday based on great Unilocal reviews and really enjoyed our food and experience. We both ordered the two taco plate with one shrimp, one calamari. Both were cooked perfectly with a nice hint of cheese on top. The plate is served with your choice of rice and beans. The atmosphere is very warm… feels definitely like a neighborhood hangout. Service was good and server seemed to really enjoy her job and talking to the customers. We will definitely be back…

Best Mexican spot in OC. Gasp! It’s true though. They didn’t get voted Best Hole in the Wall Mexican Restaurant in OC for nothing. We come here probably 2 – 3 times a month since we live down the street and just walk here… passing all the other restaurants in the circle to this little slice of Mexican food– heaven. The food is so so good. Their salsa is THEBEST!!! My wife always jokes that she could put a straw in the bowl and just drink it. I have not been disappointed once eating here and we have had probably 20 – 30 meals here. We try and order something different every time, just because they put such a great spin on traditional and non-traditional meals. There are ALWAYS specials and we order those often, just to see what they come up with. Everything tastes so fresh. Their customer service is stellar. Wonderful family atmosphere. I have NEVER felt un-welcome or had a water/waitress be rude or un-interested. They are always wonderful and joke around all the time. They really take pride in how delicious their food is and have just the right prices. I have never felt like I didn’t get what I paid for. I cannot recommend this place enough!

A solid whole in the wall a little off the beaten path just west of the circle. More than just standard mex fare, they have a variety of cross-over dishes. One friend swears by the pasta. If you like spicy salsa, make sure you ask for the habanaro hot sauce for your food. For my last lunch here, I had the swordfish tacos special and they were really good. sauteed, not battered and fried, with 2 tacos and rice and bean. It was a big lunch for a bit north of $ 10, not a bad deal.

Love this place! As a Chapman student, Taco Adobe is a great place to grab food between classes. Fresh out of the oven chips paired with flavorful salsa is the perfect starter. Varied specials daily, I usually opt for the shrimp enchiladas. Portions are big, I sometimes take a box to go. My mouth is watering as I write this, it’s a must try!

I give it 1 star because the staff is friendly. I am a BIG lover of Mexican food it’s what I know and LOVE. The carnitas in their torta was burnt and it was smallest thinnest torta I have ever seen. I had a quesadilla with al pastor, it tasted nothing like al pastor meat. It had an overwhelming taste of cinnamon. It was gross sorry but I’m never coming here again. By the way all we ordered was a torta, al pastor quesadilla and a sprite my bill was 20.79 makes no sense there prices are way off especially since the quality is so bad.. oh yeah the salsa was not all spicy or flavorful it was soooo bland. That being said this is nowhere near being Mexican food.

This is a GREAT tiny, hole-in-the-wall kind of place, just few blocks away from Chapman U. This is a second time I tried this place and I really enjoy their food each time! First time, I had salmon burrito and today, I had mahi mahi burrito. Their fish is very fresh and flavorful! You get a big chunk of fish(not shredded) and they just went really well with the sauce that comes with the burrito. Unlike typical meat + rice + cheese + bean burrito, their fish burrito was light and felt healthier! I can’t wait to try out more stuff here! Also they have great chips! Nice and hot, crispy, light, and perfect amount of salt :) Also there’s a parking lot just across the street so the restaurant is conveniently located. I never have issues finding a parking there.

Over the years this has become one of my favorite places. This is the only restaurant where I consistently order from the specials board, despite having favorite things on the menu. The owner is often out taking orders and serving, and loves the chance to make you something special you haven’t tried before. They are dog friendly, and are one of the few places in the area who are ok with you letting your pooch sit in your lap at the table if they are nervous of the traffic that passes by. This restaurant is in an old, smaller house, and it does get busy and loud during peak time.

The food is not special. I ordered the steak quesadilla, which was cheap on the cheese and meat. The carne asada itself was dry and unmemorable. My friends ordered the shrimp enchilada which was tasty, but the beans and rice it came with were disappointingly bland. The veggie burrito was OK, but again, unmemorable. Two stars because meh, I’ve experienced better.
