Ok I remember when I moved back to So Cal the first time and was told that there was this super cool place called The Block. This was back at the end of 2001. That place was where everyone went to grab a brewski, grub, see a movie, or just do a little shopping. Some awesome joints were there and everything was always packed with people having a great time. Fast forward to 2014, this place has been renamed to the ever so trendy and popularly unhappening place, The Outlets at Orange. Ok truth be told, I don’t even think there is an outlet store here. Then again does it matter? No one I know even goes here hardly ever anymore. Whenever anyone I know does cruise over here they almost always leave disappointed or underwhelmed. I personally haven’t had a great experience here since about 2006. Pro Tip: Unilocal check in gives you a free coupon book from the mall kiosk. Basically everything here has pretty much gone the way of the chain big box store or restaurant. The few exceptions that are clinging to life support are barely former shells of their previous popularity. This place has gone from trendy dynamic edgy and fun to dirty corporate fake and manufactured. Please let me know if you have had some exciting fun times here in the last 5 years. If you have, you would likely be the first person who I know who has. But if you truly look deep down this place is just a waste of time to head to anymore. The theater is overpriced for its conditions, the restaurants are bleak chains and well the rare special shops have all been replaced it seems like. The only advantage to this place over mainplace mall now is that it is outside and doesn’t have the«anchor» stores that most malls survive with. So yeah… enjoy it if you can… as for me, I will treat it like the plague and avoid it.

This mall might also be called Outlets at Orange. This name came up on my Unilocal Check-In and it is what my friend called it. Whatever the current and correct name may be, I like this mall. It is outdoors. There are a lot of stores and places to eat. It is a great people watching spot. It seems like a great place to walk around to reach 10K steps. In the evening the hanging lights are really pretty.

Yeah this is a really cool shopping center. Also known as THEOUTLETSATORANGE. Its funny that some of it tries to be «retro» in Orange County, but they have a nice mix of hipper retail stores, From Ann Taylor to Hot Topic, there’s something for everyone. Even a Neimans! and good dining options too. Very clean and crisp feel.
