Really good, fresh meals. Very busy at lunch so waits can be long. Place is quite small & crowded at mealtimes. Tables outside are perfect for additional seating.

For a «fast food» type place, this is very good! Very tasty with very large portions. The meat is good quality and the price is pretty reasonable. It’s alittle slow for a fast food place but well worth it. The parking is not so plentiful but usually you can find a spot pretty quickly.

So glad I stumbled upon this place from Unilocal reviews. It’s a great alternative from the other fast food joints in the area. The portions are huge! I’ve gotten the teriyaki chicken, combo(half chicken/half steak) with half brown rice and half veggies. They have the best brown rice I’ve tried! It’s soft, sticky and moist! I also love their volcano shrimp. The veggie egg rolls are just ok, kinda bland though. Get the Habanero, teriyaki, and shriacha sauce. I call in the order and pickup to save time.

I love it. Always uses high quality fresh ingredients. The owner is involved in the daily operation and it shows by the outstanding food at a great price. The portions are generous and it all tastes fantastic. Customer service is kind and professional. Give it a try and you will never stop going there. I get the white meat chicken with rice.

Hawaiian Asian fusion meat bowl. Simple but very tasty. Beef is tender and juicy, sauce is zesty. Great place for a quick bite to eat

This place is great. I love the teriyaki chicken bowl. They cram in lots of chicken. I get full every time. The orange chicken is good too. I like the tiki art on the wall. That tiki likes to have fun.

Got the chicken and beef plate and substituted the rice with cabbage and got veggies for a side… my girl got the beef veggie bowl. paid $ 18.34. They charged $ 1 extra for no rice but that’s pretty standard for these types of places… cool local spot not bad prices with good portions.

This is generally my go to spot for a healthy alternative to Waba Grill or Flame Broiler. I usually get the White Meat Chicken & Veggie bowl with brown rice. They pack the bowl super full, sometimes it ends up being two meals for me if I ate the protein to carb as a 1:1 ratio but usually I go because there’s like two portions of meat compared to any other place and I just end up eating less rice. The popular bowls come with a free med drink and cost is super cheap, around $ 8 – 9 for a white meat chicken bowl with brown rice + free drink.(White meat is $ 1 extra) Can’t beat that! I don’t really have any complaints but sometimes it gets packed and it takes a while to get your food, but well worth the price and quality!

— Locale Destination — It’s on Tustin St and between E Meats Ave and E Heim Ave in Orange. It’s in a shopping center across street from the Mall of Orange(big shopping center). Ambiance: Simple, casual. Service: Minimal. Slow. However, I don’t mind waiting for good food. I’m totally fine with this. Parking: Enough — Gluttony Expedition — Chicken & Steak bowl: They put lots of meats in it. It took time but they seemed to cook them carefully, which showed it on the bowl. Better than«flame broiler» for sure. Not wow but cooked decently. Not bad. — Conqueror’s Deduction — It was a better teriyaki chicken bowl than average. But not wow.

Came across this place when I was searching for new places to eat around my area. Since my bf was sick, so I decided to try this place since the teriyaki chicken sounds good and it is not fried. Bf got the chicken and steak teriyaki and I got the tropical orange chicken. I’m sorry but I prefer Panda Express orange chicken since I think the orange chicken here is overly sweet. The rice has a lot of sauce on it, which make it even sweeter. But you can definitely tell the chicken is fresh! My bf bowl was amazing! If someone took this for me to go, I wouldn’t know that the bowl is from a «semi fast food», I might say. I will definitely come back to get the teriyaki! I still give this place 5 stars since the lady behind the counter is nice and also the tropical orange chicken is not bad at all, just too sweet.

this place is so ridiculously good. i want to eat it every single day, but i settle for a couple times a month so i never ever get sick of it. the pictures truly do it justice; you get huge portions of extremely fresh chicken, steak, and seafood– perfectly sauced, and perfectly priced! i always get the chicken teriyaki plate which comes with a huge portion of chicken, brown rice, a veggie egg roll, and some cabbage/coleslaw type side. everything is perfect together… you can tell that these guys know wtf they are doing and it isn’t gross at all like fast food Chinese places, they legit just cooked your chicken in the back. Oh, i also got to try the brand new TROPICALORANGECHICKEN the other day when i went and its super yummy and sweet! if you like orange chicken better than teriyaki, then you’ll loooove it. personally, im a teriyaki girl! i recommend using the habanero teriyaki sauce– it really isnt spicy, its just the right amount of heat to make everything pop. overall, i HIGHLY recommend this little place, and apparently so does the rest of the city of orange, so go try it out!

Move over Flamebroiler, Tikiyaki crushes you. I’m a big fan of Hawaiian style food, and healthy Hawaiian makes this place the best. Large portions of nicely cooked chicken, shrimp and steak at winning prices make Tikiyaki my new favorite go to spot. I’m not a fan of sweet sauces, but the way Tikiyaki makes them makes me a fan.

Just tried this place and it blows flame broiler out the water! Got the regular chicken and veggie bowl combo with a drink for $ 5.99. Good deal because the bowl was pretty big! They are not stingy on the meats! The chicken was really good and flavorful. I will definitely be back to try their steak. Make sure to ask for green onions or they will not put it on. I also need to try the habanero sauce everyone is talking about.

: VENUE/SERVICE : Located across the street from The Village of Orange. Tikiyaki is situated in a lil run down looking plaza between H&R Block & a nail salon. Really close off the 55 freeway. Tikiyaki is like a «fast food» joint & not a full service establishment. It’s a clean/simple venue. Once you step in, you place your order with the cashier. I’ve had the pleasure being served twice by a really nice/friendly young gal there & once by the owner — who really was indifferent. Generally, I place my order ahead(as suggested by other fellow Unilocalers) so it does help cut down on the wait time. For there hardly is any much room to stand around to wait if your taking your order to-go. So I’ve waited outside before(since all the tables inside was taken) where the gal brought out my to-go order. Table seating are limited & there is in-door & out-door seating. : FOOD : Simple menu but FRESH&TASTY food. Very affordable prices esp for the amount of food you get. For some of the bowls I’ve ordered all veggies no rice & some bowls with veggies w/brown rice. Veggies included are cabbage, carrots & lots of broccoli. For some reason their brown rice tastes different but in a very good way — it seems a lil fluffier & tastier. MEBBE cuz it’s covered with the sauce?! Regardless I am loving the brown rice with their proteins here! They don’t skimp on portion or chop up their proteins small(chicken & steak). You seriously get a hefty portion. Ratio wise i say more protein then rice. Their chicken & steak is tender &IMO yums! Not dry at all or over cooked. I tend to buy extras to go – to bring for lunch at work since I don’t work anywhere nearby Tikiyaki. To my surprise, they are still good after 1 – 2 days. Definitely top it off with their habanero teriyaki sauce — unique & delish! Teriyaki Chicken & Veggie Bowl [5/5] Teriyaki Steak & Veggie Bowl [5/5] Side Order of Volcano Chicken [4/5] Eggroll [2/5] : OVERALL : After giving Tikiyaki a shot I don’t think I’ll hit up Flame Broiler or any other chained-establishments that serves chicken teriyaki bowls — unless I must for convenience & proximity. This place is amazing as other Unilocalers have mentioned. I’m looking forward to try out other menu items as well in my future visits but must always get their teriyaki chicken!

One of the best teriyaki chicken places I’ve had! It’s located in a small plaza off Tustin. Interior looks a little basic/old, but don’t let that turn you away. Looks like they always have a $ 5.99 deal running for Teriyaki Chicken + fountain drink. Their meat is always juicy and fresh, and their teriyaki sauce is bomb! You can pick between white rice or brown rice. Here they call it «sticky rice», but(lol being Asian), seems like short grain rice covered in teriyaki sauce. 1 portion will definitely fill up one person and maybe a little leftovers. Comes in a styrofoam bowl. Overall reminds me of maybe an «mall food court» joint with an establishment, but definitely good for quick yummy food.

My family and I were in Orange County for my daughter’s travel volleyball tournament and wanted to have an after tournament meal, which is part of our volleyball family routine. Being a Unilocaler, I did some advanced recon and found Tikiyaki, where Unilocalers had it at a high 4.5 stars and glowing reviews. As I write this, I’m reminded of my daughter and my niece who often make the loud proclamation«Yahssssssss» whenever they see something good. Well, after my experience here at Tikiyaki, I’ll tell you my new name for this restaurant and justify why I rated Tikiyaki a resoundingly strong 5 stars. Tikiyaki is located in Tustin on the busy Tustin Street. There are many retail stores in the surrounding area and Tikiyaki is in a small strip mall with a hanging banner advertising their $ 5.99 Teriyaki Bowl with drink. When I searched on Unilocal,I had typed Hawaiian in Unilocal’s search engine and a slew of Hawaiian restaurants came up. Tikiyaki has a muted Hawaiian theme within the restaurant. There are circular steel looking artwork with a man wearing a Hawaiian mask either surfing or paddleboarding. Above the order counter, there are rows of steel waves with a shark in the middle of it. As we were eating, I could tell Tikiyaki was a local favorite as customers sitting down and customers ordering takeout called the owner, a friendly Asian man, by his first name«Mark». Mark greeted all of them like he knew them for sometime. Mark’s outstanding customer service was part of the reasons for my 5 star rating. Mark made our first trip to Tikiyaki so easy by answering my question of what to order, explaining what the various sauces were, and providing me with chopped green onions for my dish. The main reason for my high Unilocal rating is Tikiyaki’s delicious and abundant amount of food. Unilocalers were so right about how plentiful the food was for any of their plates. If you’re hungry or a big boy like me, order any of their plates. If you’re not a big eater, their bowls are more than enough. Order the Volcano Shrimp!!! It says its spicy, but I didn’t find it too spicy and just right. The plates come with sticky white rice, cabbage salad, and an egg roll. All of it was delicious and sooooo yummy. The shrimp were hearty, covered in lip smacking sauce, and I practically inhaled them. I wish more shrimp came with the dish, but like I said, I’m a big boy, so anyone else would say that’s more than enough. Loved the rice, the cabbage had a sweet dressing, and the vegetable egg roll just put this dish over the top. My wife is very hard to please. She had the tri-tip teriyaki steak and couldn’t stop talking about how tender and awesome the steak was. That will be my next order. The other thing that should definitely draw you to this gem are the reasonable prices for such quality food. My daughter will be playing in Orange County multiple times, which means we’ll be making multiple visits to this must visit restaurant. 5 stars is well deserved for a customer service oriented owner, engulf like no tomorrow food, and prices that make your wallet smile. Tikiyaki, I’ve self appointed you Tiki-Yahssssss-ki. Holler at me if you feel the same way when you experience this 5 star restaurant.

My bestie raved about this place to me so I had to try it. She said it was better than Flame Broiler, which I’m not a huge fan of so I was hoping for the best! We had a really big order for about 11 people that we called over the phone to pick up. Once we arrived the guy had our orders all ready and separated for us. He was super sweet and funny. You can tell he really takes pride in his business and customers. He provided all our sauces and utensils in the bags for us. I got the teriyaki chicken bowl with veggies and sticky rice. I have to say that sticky rice is flipping bomb!!! I still think about that rice like every day craving it. Ha. The chicken was cooked so well with great flavors. It’s definitely my favorite chicken rice bowl place! I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often, but I could always just tell the bestie to bring it to me!

Sometimes finding the best restaurant is through word-of-mouth. Thanks to Unilocal, this seems to hold true to Tikiyaki, a tiny Asian/Hawaiian restaurant located in a small strip mall across the street from the Panera and Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at the Orange mall. Two things were commonly said about this place: — The Asian guy/owner of the place can be a bit grumpy or abrasive — The prices are fair, the portions are hearty I found one of the two things to be true. Upon walking in, I found this tiny store to be empty. I had a puzzled look on my face, as I was supposed to be meeting Karen here. The owner asked if I was at the right place, and I said I believe I am if this place is called Tikiyaki. I told him I was going to wait until Karen arrived before ordering, and with a dry sense of humor he responded it is polite to wait for your friend. It was our first time here and I told him I heard he serves large portions. He nodded and took out a small bowl, a medium bowl, and a large styrofoam box. He commented that his entrées are filled to the top. Not sure on what to order, we decided on the special posted on the banner outside. He said the specials was either the teriyaki chicken and veggies, or the orange chicken bowl. We decided on the teriyaki chicken, and the special came with a soft drink for $ 5.99 plus tax. He told us to have a seat and that it would be about 10 to 15 minutes for the food. While we were waiting for our food, more customers came trickling in. Most of the people took food to go, which was good considering the place holds about 20 people. Our food came out with chicken piled on top of a bed of steaming white sticky rice. I completely forgot that brown rice was also an option. The teriyaki chicken was fabulous. The meat was tender and the sauce was not overly sweet, yet flavorful enough where I did not have to add more. Underneath a pile of my chicken was about five pieces of broccoli and some steamed cabbage. The broccoli was al dente, and was not seasoned, but I was able to mix in the teriyaki sauce to flavor it. The restaurant also has additional sauces if you want to add more heat or more flavor. I can see why people really like coming here. It may be a tiny place, but the flow of foot traffic was nonstop from the time we stepped in, until we left. The owner suggested to call in your order during lunch, but do not expect the food to be ready in five minutes, even with a call-in. He said to allow him to prepare the food and give him at least 15 to 20 minutes. If you have a tolerance for spicy food, his volcano chicken or volcano shrimp would be a good dish to try. If you’re an extremely hearty eater, the plates would be worthwhile. The chicken bowl was plenty for me, and an excellent value. I think next time I’m going to try the steak, or a half and half combo.

Place is small, with some seats outside. They were out of for sale-bottled waters, so the owner asked if we would like«room temperature water» perhaps from tap, uhm, «No thank you,» was my reply to that. Opted for the fountain machine(tap) water. Requested brown rice and green onions with my teriyaki(white meat $ 1. extra) chicken plate and my husband ordered brown rice and green onions with his teriyaki steak plate. Also got a side of egg rolls and tropical orange chicken. Food was fresh, hot and pretty good. The only thing missing was the brown rice and green onions –__– I didn’t even mention it until after killing ¼ of my plate because the goodness distracted me. The owner said, «Oh why didn’t you say something earlier?» I just wanted to see if he would check on us but he never did. Anyway, the steak was a 5 stars for sure. My white meat chicken though, kind of tough. Egg rolls good and the tropical orange chicken was typical orange chicken. I dig the concept and the food, but customer service and order flaws made me salute them with 3. Next time I hope that will change.

In a small strip of shops across the village mall I found my new favorite spot for a chicken teriyaki bowl!!! Flame Broiler just a short walk away will no longer be an option! I ordered a regular size teriyaki chicken veggie bowl! This bowl is $ 5.99 and comes with a regular size drink. The bowl with no veggies is the same price so might as well get it with veggies. It’s a $ 1 more to add all white meat and green onions are optional. The bowl is a decent amount and I had leftovers. I loved how sticky the white rice was and soft. The broccoli, cabbage and carrots were steamed just right. Now for the chicken it was delicious. The pieces are cut into strips with the right grill. The corners were a bit crisp and the inner part juicy. The teriyaki sauce was delicious! The egg rolls were crisp on the outside and soft veggies inside. They have different kinds of meats to choose from like orange chicken, beef, shrimp and spicy options! You can order sides and plates which come with a salad. There are different hot sauces to choose from as well. The customer service was great and they have outside seating too! Definitely be back for more!!!
