The food and service here is great! I’ve passed by this place on my way home from work for over a year and always wondered if it was any good. Well today I was with the family after a day up the hill and we decided to give it a try. The food was very good! Fresh, authentic and the service was great too. Fast and friendly! We all finished our plates down to the last but of rice and beans.

We ordered a quesadilla burrito Chile rellenos and fish tacos. Food and beer are great. Only the horchata I think was a premix that’s not recommended. Come here and enjoy some great mexican food, I definitely will again

Our first video here. Stopped in on a whim. Really good Mexican food. Wife had beef tacos and she really enjoyed them. I ordered Mole Poblano and all I can say is wow. The mole sauce was out of this world. Smooth and flavorful. Definitely coming back here.

Owner is very nice and the food is good, much better than the competitor’s across the street. My friend ordered flautas and he eats a lot so the portion was sort of smaller than he liked. I gave him my beans lol since I did not want them.

This place is like a trip to abuela’s. The staff is so nice and welcoming, and the food is old school delicious. Don’t let its location fool you; it’s a warm and inviting atmosphere

I’ve been coming to this location for years. It’s some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in the Folsom area. It’s not even in Folsom, but I never mind making the drive. My absolute favorite dish is the large veggie burrito. Everything in the burrito tastes so delicious. It comes with beans, rice, bell peppers, onions, sour cream, guac, pico de gallo, and lettuce I believe. The bell peppers and onions are sliced and cooked to perfection. The mojado sauce and cheese over the burrito is also quite tasty; however you have the option to go without or on the side if you prefer. Parking is easy, and ordering for pick-up is fast. Lupita herself runs the restaurant most days. She’s very personable and a wonderful host. I highly recommend this hole-in-the-wall place.

I’ve been eating at Lupida’s for many years and have never had a bad meal! I always order the enchiladas and its always perfect! If you are looking for authentic Mexican food this place is truly the best in the area. Now lets talk price… today i had two enchiladas, huge portions of both rice & beans and a coke. My girlfriend had an enchilada a huge portion of rice and a coke. Oh and chips n salsa before our meal… Delicious as always and only $ 18. Seriously? I can’t believe how inexpensive it is to eat here! Anyway, i truly recommend Lupida’s…you won’t be disappointed!

Without a doubt some of the best Mexican food in the area, after driving by for about 10 years I finally stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised, the salsa was excellent, chips are good(not to crunchy) The chili Colorado was very good, refried beans and rice also very good, definitely coming back

(I forgot to finish this review back in Nov. 2015.) The absolute best homemade tacos anywhere around here.

Our meal was the best. There were 4 of us and we each had different choices. Each of us thought it was the best Mexican we have ever eaten. We have been to many Mexican restaurants and the food and varieties are awesome. The service is as good as the food. Salsa and guacamole the Best. Take out is an option. This restaurant offers all you need or want.

I can still not even deal with how incredible and authentic Lupita’s is! A group of us came in for dinner one Thursday evening with a craving for burritos, Lupita(the owner) greeted us warmly and seated us at a large table in the back of the restaurant. Our waitress seemed very sweet though with us constantly shouting questions at her she seemed to get a little flustered. We ordered a starter of guacamole with chips which was a small serving but super tasty and came out within five minutes of us ordering. My main meal was ridiculous! I got greedy and ordered a beef burrito with green sauce and also chicken mole enchiladas with a side of rice and beans! It was the most delicious meal I’ve had in a long time and I was 100% satisfied PLUS it only cost me $ 12.00?! Say what? Do yourself a favour– EATHERE!

3.5. Ashli L, Kevin W and Josh N are spot on in their review. Good food, sketchy cleanliness and gross bathrooms. Props for Lupita, the owner/waitress/server and her spunky personality. Seems like she knows everyone who comes in. Love the family feel. Kind of like visiting an aunt, who cooks really well, but isn’t the best housekeeper. Went for lunch w/the kiddos. Lunch entrees are around $ 6.95– not bad for generous portions w/rice and beans. Chips seemed fresh and crispy. Salsa was mild enough for the kiddos to enjoy. Chicken mole enchilada for me($ 7?). Excellent! One of the best mole dishes in Sacramento– I liked it way better than Tres Hermanas. Sorry, not sure what the hype about theirs is. The enchilada here tasted like a homemade tortilla– thicker than most– almost with a tamale like texture, but soft and supple. Loved it! Mole sauce had a nice balance of sweet, salty, savory. Delish! DD1 had the chicken tacos. Chicken was moist, but didn’t have much taste, as the youngster, a budding foodie, pointed out. Kids loved the rice and beans though. Simple, straight-forward… good. Place needs a good cleaning, but again, how often does your great aunt clean her house?!

On food alone I’d give them a 4 but I kinda question the cleanliness of the place and for that I gotta deduct. We came with party of 8 with out of state visitors who wanted Mexican. Our first choice was closed so we resorted to Unilocal with only Mexican on our mind. The only waitress, who we later learned was Lupita herself, was a character. She was pretty forward and sassy in a way to someone else might have been offensive but we all rolled with it. She was the waitress, the busser, the namesake, and we all joked probably the cook. She was running a one person show. My mom had ordered carnitas to split with my grandma and what was delivered was 2 orders of fajitas, one for each of them. Odd. But my mom didn’t want to make a big deal so she ate it. At the end she brought this up to Lupita and she was very apologetic and brought some carnita meat on a tortilla for us to try. Very much appreciated. I got a 2 enchilada combo platter with rice and beans. I opted for shredded beef which was so tender you know there was some TLC(time love commitment). Rice and refried beans are pretty standard. I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. Average at best. We saw Lupita try to kill a fly with a menu when she was with another table to give you an idea of the place. Questionable.

The service is very friendly and quick. The margarita was well made. I was asked if I wanted a straw and the waitress pulled it right out of her apron. The food was delicious, with a large, full plate. The only reason for the missing star was the stained ceiling tiles, which look terrible.

I was looking for a new Mexican food restaurant in Orangevale. I was hoping this would be my new place. First off, the pictures of the interior of this place don’t match up to the place I ate lunch at. Didn’t notice any full booths. I think someone mixed up their restaurants. I went here in part because of the photos and they are misleading. My young son and I were greeted by a waitress that seemed like she was possibly the owner or a family member of the owner. She brought us chips and salsa right away. My son dropped a chip so I set it on the table. When she returned, she picked up the chip and put it back in the basket. Gross! What if this chip had dropped onto the floor? And were her hands clean? I doubt it. She was quick to ask us if we wanted any drinks. We asked for two waters. I asked if their margaritas had real tequila in them. She said no but that they used a wine that was so good one could not tell the difference. Margaritas are like $ 4.25. She suggested I try it and said if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t have to pay for it. I was hesitant but this was one of the best wine margaritas I’ve ever had and it tasted like there was tequila in it, even though there wasn’t. Our waitress brought out our waters. She touched the top rim of our glasses as she took them off her tray and placed them on our tables. There is like 6″ of plastic glass, why does she need to touch the top rim where we will be drinking from? I asked for two straws. She returned to the area but did not bring out straws. Eventually, she brought our food out so I asked for straws again. Our waitress acted surprised that she had not already brought them out. I responded that no, she had not brought them out or I wouldn’t be asking again. Food arrived and then the straws. Our waitress took the straws out of their wrappers and while touching the tops of the straws that we’d later drink out of, shoved them into our waters. Gross! Food was decent and the price was fine. If I rated them on food, drinks and price alone this place is about 4 stars. Got our bill and put down money to pay right away. Long wait for our waitress to pick it up and return our change. Not sure if she was hoping we’d get frustrated with the long wait and end up walking out and giving her a bigger tip or not. We waited her out and eventually she returned and provided change for us. My young son decides that before we leave, he needs to use the restroom and he can not wait. Don’t use the restrooms here! They are so small that I was practically smashing into the toilet as I tried to walk in and close the door. I’m not sure how any fairly large person could ever fit in here. Thank goodness my son only needed to pee as the toilet seat was cracked. I washed my hands with soap and then couldn’t find a way to dry my hands. The restroom is so small there isn’t a place for a paper towel rack. I thought maybe there was one in the nasty hallway leading to the men’s and women’s restrooms but no, there is not. No place to dry your hands. As I left, I thought how unsanitary this place seemed to be. I looked back at the restaurant and noticed that they passed a health inspection. I’m not sure how that happened. This place is not very sanitary as they deliver your food and drinks and there is no way to dry your hands that I noticed after you use the restroom. I wanted to throw up. This place has potential but they don’t seem to care about sanitary conditions and their service could be more attentive/better so I won’t be going back. On a side note, if you want a tattoo or if your want to hit a dive bar, they both exist within the same complex. You could make a full day of this area.

This place is very authentic. The service is excellent, fast, very organized. I have been to this place many times and have yet to be let down. Every time, the food is always on point, fresh and delicious. I definitely would recommend to check it out, if you have not been here yet.

If you enjoy eating in a restaurant that smells like fried food and is on the grimy side — this place is for you. There were several ceiling tiles that were stained, and the air inside the restaurant was filled with smoke from their kitchen. In fact, the windows were cracked inside of the restaurant to let some of the smoke out –even though it was 100 degrees outside, I usually rate Mexican restaurants on the following three menu items 1,. Salsa 2. Beans 3. Tortillas. The chips and salsa were on point. The salsa itself was a bit on the spicy side which is exactly how I like it. I actually ate a bit too much and filled up before my dinner arrived. For my entrée, I opted for the chile verde, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with how tender and flavorful this dish was. Lupita’s managed to serve up pork that was not too fatty– yet fell apart using a fork. In my opinion, this was some of the best chile verde that I have had the pleasure of eating. The rice was just OK — nothing really stood out as being different from any rice-a-roni option that you can find at your local grocery store. The beans were chalky, bland, and were easily the most disappointing part of my meal. Perhaps, Lupita’s offers a «whole bean» or «black bean» option that I can try next time instead of the re-fried beans. The flour tortillas were good –not great. Specifically, I felt that salt could have been added to the mixture when the tortillas were being prepared. Overall, my dining experience was pretty good –despite the restaurants appearance. The food was fresh, hot, and tasty, The prices are reasonable with most entrees priced at $ 10.00 or less. One of my pet peeves is when Mexican restaurants charge 15.00 dollars or more for dinner plates — Ridiculous!

Chicken mole was very good. I had the chicken enchiladas(2) with rice and beans for a lunch special price of $ 6.95 great deal! The chips and salsa were really good. The chips weren’t greasy at all. First time trying, I will be back!
