Bought wood from them about 3 years ago. I didn’t notice until we got about ½ of it loaded that their pieces were getting shorter and shorter. If you are paying for 16″ Oak, and it is set up in their rack, it better be 16″ or you are getting shorted. A chord is 128 c.f. I understand a few pieces here and there might be short, but whoever does their cutting needs to ‘get a clue’. I am considering turning them into the Weights and Measures. I went back three years in a row to look again, and same story. PLUS, their prices are about 10% higher than Tony’s. And if you’re getting shorted by 10−15% it starts to add up. Tony’s has always been honest, with good wood, and good prices. NPC is not professional in their business practices.

With deliver fees they are over priced. Ordered½ oak ½ soft wood and the majority was soft wood. Would not use them again!

Buying firewood is about 3 things. Seasoned wood, pricing, and receiving the correct amount of wood you are paying for. I got 1 out of 3. After 2 fires, the wood appears properly seasoned. I did not drill to test it, but burning has been fine. Pricing is higher than other places, but it was close to home and a friend was handy with a pickup. The amount of wood however, was wrong. A 3rd of a cord should be 16″ wide(the proclaimed cut size), 4′ high and 8′ long. More than half of the wood was10 inches or less which boosted the hight, but missed on the correct width. After stacking it, the overall size did not make the grade. Will purchase elsewhere next time.
