Love the strawberries here. You know the kind: they smell of perfume, they taste like candy and they melt in your mouth. You won’t find these in the supermarket as they don’t have the long shelf life like the generic, hard crunchy ones do. Located across the road from Pershing Ave, the stand is actually on Kenneth off of Madison Ave, just down the road from the Starbucks. As of April 2013, you can get a basket for $ 2, two baskets for $ 4, three baskets for $ 6 — I think for four baskets that’s when the discount kicks in at $ 7. Occasionally they sell other produce items and in late summer you might find blackberries. If I’m not too intimidated, I’m gonna make me some batches of strawberry jam! I want to keep the tastiness of summer going all year long.
