The soup salad and bread sticks are decent but everything else I’ve had off the menu wasn’t very impressive. Fries are average and always seem to come out cold for me and the bread used for sandwiches seems like the same cheap stuff you buy off the shelf at the supermarket. The tuna melt is kinda small and each time I’ve had the Buffalo chicken wrap the chicken wasn’t very crispy. I really don’t get the fascination with this place. Food seems thrown together and pushed out of the kitchen as quick as possible. They call it «Buffalo cuisine» but honestly it’s bar food and not very good bar food at that.

I used to come here years ago! They have great winds and salads. It’s a buns because they’re located tight outside of the Ralph Wilson Stadium. Last time I went here the floor was painted like a football field and they had tons of classic signed memorabilia on the walls. Buffalo Bills players are in here often!!! Stop in for a good bite to eat!

Love the soup & salad bar! I had a chicken finger wrap, it was great! Our server was excellent(don’t remember the name but she was British)! We had 25 of us and she did it all herself, and did a great job! Very nice and on top of the refills! She did wonderful! :)

Can’t beat the daily lunch special! $ 8.59 gets you unlimited, self-serve soup, salad and breadsticks. It’s the perfect lunch. It includes their Buffalo chicken soup which is delicious. Add another dollar, and you get ½ a sandwhich on top of the soup & salad bar. $ 9.99 and you get a mini beef-on-weck! Danny’s is the ultimate lunch spot around Orchard Park. It’s fast, delicious, and cheap.

I stopped here on Friday. They had a great soup & salad bar with four different homemade soups and a salad that consists of various kinds of lettuce. The service could not have been better. I ordered the fish fry with German potatoes. The fish was good. But the German potatoes need lots of help. First of all they were somewhat burnt. They also had a strong sweet, sugary taste and apparently were missing a main ingredient… vinegar! I never heard of German potatoes made without vinegar and neither did the server. If I had chosen French fries, I would of been served frozen crinkle cut fries. Next time I return it will be for soup & salad bar only.

Had the lunch soup and salad bar. Buffalo chicken soup was awesome, as well as the beef barely. Salad bar was salad bar. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.

Went for prime rib tonight, and give them another try after a really crappy experience last time there. Staff was excellent, prime rib was good ‘bit undercooked for med well’ but well prepared, and a very good portion. But the weird thing is everytime I order food they always forget one item. I totally did not notice the mistake, but again was charged for something I didn’t get.

Visited for a large family brunch(group of 12 people) and we were all impressed. They offer a Sunday brunch buffet with the classics: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage. Then added in some bonuses: Apple filled pancakes, French toast sticks!, cajun fish/chicken, an omelette bar, and fruity pebble pancakes. The service was very pleasant and available– it was not busy(10 am Sunday morning). We will be going back as a group!

Love this place! I always go for the chicken wing soup — it is AMAZING! Best I’ve ever had. Their salad bar is always good too. I like the meals on the menu and they sometimes have great specials. Downside is that the place can get very busy with a long wait depending on when you go. Dannys is also good for parties!

Not only a perfect place for sports gatherings(yes i mean perfect) but they also have some of the most delicious foods you could ask for! Chicken wing soup? Not much needs to be said other than it truly is a WNY staple and no one can come close to duplicating it. The wings are a hidden gem, really. Perfect balance of crisp and tender, sauce is one of my favorites in buffalo! Burgers are so juicy and delicious, I have never had a bad experience here at all!

Has always been my favorite restaurant! Unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks! Buffalo chicken wing soup is fantastic! Bills/sports memorabilia is a plus as well! Has a very homey vibe to it! Price is very affordable as well! Can’t go wrong with this place!

We have been here before and it is just«OK». This year we decided to try it for Mother’s Day brunch. I would not recommend at all. We were seated right away, but the atmosphere was terrible — overcrowded. The buffet is in the bar area, which is quite a walk for any elderly person. The bar is dim and dirty — you could barely see the food you were choosing(is that bacon or sausage?!) The food was below average, and items were not being replenished fast enough. There were 2 noodles left for my vegetarian daughter. The chicken wing soup was the only good thing. The desserts looked like they were baked by some 100 year old woman who cant see straight and the fruit bowl was a soggy sloppy mess. Probably from a can. This was an expensive day, not worth the money. Unless you don’t care what you eat.

I’m not one to write a review but this was such a horrible experience I’m compelled to want to warn anyone who’s thinking of eating at Danny’s South. This place is FILTHY! My water glass was sticky, the salad bar looked like they never clean it and the dining area had food all over the floor. We went to Danny’s for a simple Friday fish fry and couldn’t have been more grossed out by the conditions. My French fries were tough — which made me think they were reheated. My fears were later confirmed when I found a half eaten shrimp mixed in with my curly fries. In addition to my wine glass being dirty, there was literally dirt in the bottom of the glass. The waitress tried to sell it as «sediment» from the wine but where did the«sediment» come from? I wasn’t drinking a ’67 Port. We’re talking about an $ 8 bottle of California red. It’s important to note that our server was very nice. As for the others, it would’ve been nice if they weren’t sweeping the floor around and underneath us while we’re eating. The fact that a manager never tried to address the half-eaten shrimp on my plate is an indication of their very poor standards.

Brunch for $ 13.04 was pretty worth it. They need more waitstaff and they need help with cooking their meats– the ham and roast beef were as dry as a shoe sole. Southtowns doesnt have a lot to offer so choices are slim to run out and get a quick bite to eat for breakfast.

Went here for a lunch on Saturday and I would say as a family restaurant this place is great. Would bring my kids back here to eat anytime. Reasons for that are 1) the place is decorated with all sorts of crazy things to keep their eyes busy and entertained. Planes hanging from the ceiling, trains running around walls, Mickey Mouse memorabilia, fish tanks… You get the point. We played a bit of eye spy and it was fun. Then 2) The soup and salad bar come with the price of kids meal. This is great as you can get them eating right away instead of acting crazy or complaining«When is the food is going to get here.» The kids got Dino Nuggets and their meal was $ 5.49 I think, but that also included a drink and some french fries. So with the soup and salad bar its a pretty good deal for them. My wife got a burger and I got the Taste of Buffalo, which included a Beef on Weck with four wings. The wings were OK I ordered them hot but they were not. How they were cooked and size were fine. The Beef on Weck was good. Though I was tempted to ordered double meat for $ 2 more but was glad I did not as it was a decent size already. Couldn’t imagine it doubled what I had. My wife only ate half her burger as she stuffed herself on Soup. They had four soups and all were actually very good and homemade style. The four soups we had were Buffalo Chicken, which was a cheese based with tiny bit of Buffalo wing spice, it was delicious. Then they had a Turkey Noodle and Minestrone which were both excellent versions of their styles. Last they had a Beef on Weck which kind of some a cross of french onion and gravy. It was good but a bit salty for me. Wife loved it though. All this above plus some good beer on tap,(an Edmund Fitzgerald Porter is what I had) has me thinking I would bring the kids back here anytime to eat.

My husband and I go here when we’re in the area and don’t know what to eat. They have solid staples that make this a solid stand by. Good: –Salad and soup bar(very affordable, and its fresh if you don’t come on a Sunday night LOL) –the soups are always varied and definitely are homemade –the salad toppings are not just your standard fare, they’re more high end with items such as mushrooms, sprouts, chickpeas, broccoli –liver and onions(delicious!!!) –dinner entrees –comfy, super casual décor(for when you feel like being a bum) Bad: –beef on weck(wec)(wek) sorry! my husband did not think this was even OK –potato sides are always half asked(definitely can tell they made it hours ago and its slapped on plates) –service is inconsistent Overall: This is a good standby place, not the type of place you’d run out of town to go to but if you’re in the area, the food is very good for a very fair price.

I added a star. Hubby and I visited Danny’s South last evening and we were surprised. Not that this place has ever been bad, it just seemed better than before. I tried their new dish — Caribbean Chicken over Rice. Very tasty! The salad bar is nicely pulled together with a variety of greens and things. Also very yummy breadsticks! Hubby had the fish fry which was huge and served with fries. I thought it odd that no other salad came with the fish fry but then I realized that salad bar came with the dinner and cole slaw was a part of the salad bar. Soups were, and always are yummy. The were rich with depth, unlike the colored water you will sometimes find at soup bars. These were definately made in house. And of course I had to grab a bowl of Buffalo Chicken Wing soup to go. The salad and soup bar can be purchased for $ 8.49 and it certainly is filling enough to make a meal. It is also included in any dinner purchase. I see myself going back.
