What can I say? It’s an ice rink. There is frozen water here to slide on if you are so inclined, and the accommodations are fair. Compared to other rinks I’ve visited, this one seems well used(read: worn). Many of the floor pads are showing through to concrete in places. The ice tends to be quite rough and even gets mushy in the summer as though the AC can’t quite keep up. The boards seem to have trouble connecting with the ice surface in some places, and the benches are always sticky/grimy. That said, the staff is friendly, and there is always something happening here, so maybe if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it? Except for the holes in the flooring. Those need to be fixed.

The ice is decent here — not great, but not the worst either. Both rinks have really low ceilings, which is unusual. These may be some of the lowest ceilings(over the actual ice surface) that I have ever seen and it results in a lot of stoppages in play because the puck hits the ceiling. The locker rooms are of decent size and you can lock them up to protect your valuables, which is essential. The bathrooms in the locker room area are gross, but I feel like that is pretty much par for the course when you’re talking about ice rinks. The showers have hot water, which is nice and surprisingly not guaranteed when you go to an ice rink. I can’t comment on the pro shop, concessions, etc. My experience with Leisure is simply playing on the ice surface there weekly…
