Had an 8pm reservation, but didn’t get seated until 8:40. The delicious food made up for the minor annoyance. The bread and oil was a perfect start. Good Caesar dressing on the salad. There was a 20 minute lag between salad and main course, but once we got our meals the lobster ravioli were outstanding and the chicken Parm(two pieces of chicken) was very tasty. All in all, it was a great meal and we will be back!

I don’t know how anyone could give this restaurant more than 1 star. We waited over 40 min. for our table to be ready. Over an hour for food to be served. When we asked to speak to the manager, he took almost 20 min. to get to our table and was rude when he got there. The food was borderline between good and awful. 2 meals were sent back to the kitchen because they were cold. Not one person at our table of 16 was happy or satisfied. Will never go back.

Excellent food, stiff drinks and good service. The lobster ravioli is very good, but comes in a smaller portion than expected. Servers are polite and prompt, though on busy nights(like most places) they tend to be missing most of the time.

This was a nice restaurant with great service and wonderful food. The chicken piccata was perfect and the rice ball appetizer was one of the best. The acoustics are not good and make it difficult to have a conversation not wanting to out yell the other tables.

We’ve been regulars at Mangia for several years and have recommended it many times to family and friends — always excellent food and service. We met family for dinner last evening and were very disappointed with our meals. We’ve not been there in awhile, but managed to find our favorite dishes from past visits. Salads were nothing special with skimpy dressing. Both of our dinners arrived just barely warm with much reduced portions. Hopefully it was an off night and not a sign of complacency with past quality lagging!!!

Well this was a totally expected slam dunk. I had heard alot of good things about Mangia and I was NOT disappointed. I had the seafood alfredo and while the seafood was just a little lacking, it was still delicious. The real star was the calamari which was probably the best I’ve ever had. Don’t miss it, seriously… don’t. I’m not kidding, did you order it? No… stop filling up on the delicious bread and oil, you NEED the calamari. Oh and just as a side note(which you totally don’t need to pay attention to because you should already be on your way to order the calamari) the place is gorgeous and if you get seated in any of the faux-outdoors seating, it’s awesome because the location is on a decently busy street corner and people watching is the best.

We went here for local restaurant week. I had the lobster ravioli and it was just too delicious for words. Their bread starter was amazing. The cannoli was one of the best cannoli I have ever had. I will surely be visiting this again!

Very nicely decorated with an Italian décor. This restaurant has expanded to take the whole corner of East Quaker & Buffalo St. and beyond. It’s that successful. Really great food from pizza and sandwiches that you order at the counter for lunch. Or more upscale dishes for dinner with waiter staff. A bar that you can order wine, beer or a specialty coffee. It now has banquet facilities and a night club on the 2nd floor. My favorite pasta dish offered for lunch on a regular basis is Penne Gorgonzola– with chicken and sundried tomatoes. It is sometimes offered for dinner at double the price. I asked for a lunch size version(which is a big enough portion) at dinner time and they happily obliged. Pollo artichoke grilled chicken sandwich was very good. All sandwiches are specialty and always made with fresh bread. Take out is also available. I referred this restaurant to my daughter and boyfriend who are both very finicky and particular about where they dine and they were very impressed. Mangia is a treat for dinner with a bit higher prices. Be sure to visit their website. Definitely a classy place.

I’m going to go with a solid 4 star review from this place — at least at lunch time. I will need to return to check out dinner — business casual they say. Let’s talk about lunch at Mangia’s! All during my years growing up, my grandmother would say, «Mangia Lorda», which some might think means«Eat Gross», but it really meant to eat a lot! At Mangia’s you could surely eat a lot because the food was excellent. The salad was fresh and my mini Italian Sausage sub was the perfect size paired with a nice salad. The glass of wine my wife had was to her liking as was the chicken and pear salad she had! Service is at a counter for lunch. So there is no service provided at your table, though they DO deliver what you ordered, but the rest is up to you. They also clear the table — unless that’s something you must do! Therefore, tipping at lunch time would be a bit crazy if you ask me. Selecting and time is great, pricing was good and there is a lot more parking behind the building. Next stop — dinner!

We attended a surprise birthday party of about 30 people in the banquet rooms. Loved everything about our experience –the service was great, the bar was well-stocked, space was far from cramped. You could probably comfortably fit 50+ people. The food was slightly mediocre… salmon and beef sliders, beef shishkabobs, cocktail shrimp, cheese & veggie platter. The space seemed very new. This was my first time here so I don’t know what it was before, but with this newly renovated space, they will have tons of luck with hosting large parties. Parking is a hassle. We were lucky to find street parking out front and they offer valet parking, but if you try to park off of the side street in the parking lot, better bring a pair of sneakers or comfortable walking shoes –it’s a bit of a trek! I look forward to coming here for dinner and drinks sometime –the restaurant seems very romantic! I will also recommend this as a great venue for big party or shower!

One of mine and my fiancé’s favorites! The specials are always delicious and the servers are so wonderful. The addition of the lounge was also such a nice touch. I live within walking distance, so this is a regular hangout for me and my friends. cocktails are always made perfectly, no overpouring. Quality service is also very important to me. The servers and bartenders there are always so great. Definitely one of my favorites. Try the braciole when it’s on special, they make it so well!

My girlfriend and I went there this past Saturday. For appetizers we ha Arugula with fresh roasted red beets and I had the caprese salad. That was great. My girlfriend had sea bass with a pumpkin purée and I had the penne pasta with chicken and gorgonzola. The dinners were amazing. The service was outstanding. She had a blueberry martini and I had a Guinness. I Can’t wait to go back again. Will let all my family and friends know.

The moment we arrived last Saturday we were made to feel so welcome. The restaurant was bustling with lots of staff, the thing noticed right off the bat was that everyone working looked happy to be there! The five of us sat down to dine and we were instantly greeted by our wonderful server. The menu is vast with all sorts of choices. I had it in my head that I needed lasagna from the moment I woke up that day and was almost swayed with other delicious choices but thank heavens I stuck to my guns. The serving was most generous filled with not too much pasta and just enough cheese and sausage with an obviously homemade sauce crafted to perfection, simply superb. Hubby had the homemade ravioli, and our other guests had the beef tenderloin, veal with a mushroom glaze, and the shrimp scampi. We all ooohhed and ahhhed over our plates and had to share a bite from each. The ambiance, service and great food made the evening a success. Well done Mangia!

I wanted an Italian restaurant that wasn’t too upscale, but not too casual, had quality food and reasonable prices. Original reservation was at 8 but called at 6 that evening hoping to move our reservation earlier. They couldn’t find my first reservation for 8. Luckily, they could accommodate us at 7:30 anyways. Arrived at 7, valeted the car, headed inside to a large restaurant, multiple rooms with rustic Italian décor, really enjoyed the feel. Checked in with a hostess who said our table wouldn’t be ready until 7:30 then headed to the bar to wait. Bar was full and the two bartenders did not notice me waiting for a drink, so much so that a couple at the bar who saw me patiently waiting said, «What would you like, I’ll order it for you!» I was given a wine list, separated by light, medium and full-bodied wines. List was OK, but I enjoy a list of wines you can’t buy everywhere, I always like trying something new, oh well. Once I got the glass the bill was $ 10.88. The tax is supposed to be built into the price behind the bar so I was surprised to see that. At 7:30, the hostess came over and said our table was ready, escorted us to another room and unfortunately there was no open table to where she was bringing us. After standing awkwardly in the dining room for a few moments, she realized there must have been some confusion and brought us back to the host station. A different woman then told us she thought a table was getting up but they didn’t so we were going to have to wait longer. There was little space to stand in front of the restaurant and servers were walking in and out of the kitchen causing traffic so we felt in the way standing near the service bar. 25 minutes went by and we were starving, finally our table was ready. We were brought to a table in an enclosed patio-esque room and it was the perfect table. A bit secluded from the other dining room so the noise level was perfect for conversation. There was a great view from the big windows in the room. Tons of menu options, little to no healthy choices though, however, I would imagine a dish could be tailored if I had asked and I really can’t expect healthy choices at an Italian restaurant. Our server took a while to come to our table and that pattern continued throughout the night, he wasn’t around much, but when he did come by, he was professional and knowledgable about the menu. We started with a margherita pizza and an eggplant neapolitan. The pizza was extremely thin, six slices, very little cheese but was so delicious. My family enjoyed the eggplant appetizer, but I did not, the eggplant was too thick, it didn’t wow me. Bread came out with the appetizers, wish it came out earlier, contained rolls and flat pieces with sauce and cheese. While the flavor was good, the flat pieces were just cooler than luke warm, bread should come out piping hot. The olive oil accompanying the bread was delicious, lots of seasoning, a bit spicy with garlic. Empty appetizer plates sat on our table a little longer than we wanted, but other than that the bussers were attentive with re-filling waters and removing unnecessary silverware, etc. Our server came over and removed our food menus before we had placed our dinner order, odd, so we were glad we remembered what we were ordering when he came back around. I put in for a Caesar salad, had a with or without anchovy option, it was tasty, but took longer than I expected to come out. The menu did state the food took time, I can appreciate that because there’s nothing better than quality fresh food. Between the four of us there was a spinach and lobster ravioli, chicken piccata, chicken parmesan and vegetable lasagna. The ravioli was a hit, chicken piccata enjoyable, but portion very small, was part of a restaurant week so the size wasn’t surprising. The chicken parm was good and large. Veggie lasagna for me, had a choice between house red sauce, hot pepper marinara(SOSPICY, BEWARE) or tomato cream. The portion was insane, enough to feed the entire table and still have leftovers. It was pasta-less and stacked with sun dried tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, spinach, italian cheeses and topped with mushrooms. All four of us received a cannoli at the end of our meal. They were okay, not crunchy like I think a cannoli should be but the others at the table thought they were good. We waited forever to get our check and even longer to swipe a card after a check was delivered. Overall price of the meal was reasonable for the portions and quality for the most part. Our leftovers were leaking sauce all over the place upon leaving, a server noticed, took the box into the back, repackaged everything and sealed it with saran wrap to make sure it wouldn’t leak anymore. So helpful! The valet gentlemen outside concluded our night on a very good note. They had such wonderful manners, held the door open for all the ladies, so chivalrous!

Actually, never ate here, so maybe this is not fair. The hostess was not very welcoming. We were seated in the bar area at a high top table. Waiter seemed miffed that we didn’t want to order drinks before we saw the menu. He brought the menus but never came back. He was tending bar instead and ignored us. It was 5 pm so not the height of business! We sipped our water, and waited, waited, and finally walked out. Kind of a loud place too.

I went here last Winter for a quick glass of wine with a friend and I really liked the atmosphere. It was lively. I wasn’t fond of the bartenders. They seemed confused and slow to tend to the customers. I’m sure they’re okay now(I’d assume). I would love to come back and taste their food at some point.

Mangia! If you love Italian food, this place is for you. We started with a special meatball in Sunday sauce app, which was perfection. We also tried the stuffed banana peppers, a dish which I’m obsessed with. If it’s on the menu, I have to order it! These were disappointing. Bland, not spicy, and actually kind of cold. For entrees, my dinner companions had the veal Parmesan(good), a lemon caper chicken(excellent), and lasagna(perfection!) I had a hot pepper Parmesan with meatball. Now THESE peppers were spicy! It was everything I love in a meal, namely cheese and hot peppers. I have to say, the lasagna was probably the big winner at the table. It was an enormous brick of deliciousness swimming in a lake of red sauce. The wine was great and the service was good too. We checked out the roof top bar afterwards, which is very cool but so ridiculously crowded that we didn’t stay for a drink.

We came here a couple of years ago with a couple of friends for dinner — it was quite busy for a weeknight. I don’t remember if they had a parking lot but we just found street parking. It wasn’t easy but we got lucky and caught someone leaving. They had a nice big bar area with some tables where we got some drinks before heading to the table on the other side of the building(we made a reservation). Since it’s been a while, I cannot recall exactly what we all ordered. I know we all got appetizer — either soups or salads, and they were all delicious. I do remember that I showed up starving, but after a soup and my entrée(some kind of seafood linguine, I believe, since that’s typically what I order when I go to Italian restaurants), I was seriously stuffed. I did not leave anything for leftovers! Perhaps I should have, so I could have tried some of their desserts. All four of us were extremely happy with everything that entire night. Too bad it’s a bit of a drive from where we live(Elmwood village), and there are so many options close to home!

My boyfriend and I went here on a double date and it was very nice! It is a great place to go if you want an upscale Italian meal and have it be romantic as well. They have so many options for pasta dishes I had a hard time choosing. We started with the 10oz meatball to share and it was huge enough for 4 people! It was so tender and one of the best meatballs I have had. I decided on the Hot Pepper Marinara and boy was there a kick to it! It was so hot, but so delicious I couldn’t stop eating it. The tortellini my boyfriend got looked delicious as well he really enjoyed it. It was a Friday night a little crowded, but we mad reservations so we didn’t have a problem getting seated. The service was great and the waitress always made sure we had enough to drink and everything else we needed. We didn’t have room for dessert so we will have to go back for that and also there are a few other dishes I would like to try since I had a hard time picking just one. Great atmosphere, service, food and will be back for more!

Another great experience from Mangia! This time, my boyfriend and I weren’t feeling like going out for a meal, so we opted for takeout. The food was still hot by the time we got it home, the portions were perfect, and we were delighted to discover we still got the delicious bread and oil that we would have gotten if we ate at the restaurant. This time I got the Penne Siciliane and my boyfriend went for the Pasta Broccoli. We loved the food. The eggplant was cooked perfectly in my dish, and the sauce was light yet flavorful. My boyfriend went crazy for the garlic in his dish. Absolutely will be back again soon.

This is a much over do review, but better late than never. Family friends took my family here on a Saturday in November while staying in Orchard Park and wow– as an Italian family of 6 who loves to eat, we were pleasantly impressed. I checked Unilocal reviews before hand and don’t think some of the older reviews gave it justice. First, the 8 of us went upstairs to the lounge to have a drink before dinner. The atmosphere was great. A semi– dark, and intimate room with sections of couches and seating around little tables definitely catered to separate parties and allowed them to have their own space and conversations. While the bar area had regular seating and TVs for those who are looking for a more casual experience. I had a pear martini which was strong, and delicious. Others liked their drink choices as well and had no complaints. The only sub par part of our pre-dinner drinks was the fact that our cocktail waitress seemed like she was on another planet. Before our drinks were finished our table was ready, so we moved downstairs and were able to transfer our bar tab to our dinner bill. Everything about our dinner was fantastic! Our waitress was great– very personable and had answers to all of our questions about the menu. She also wasn’t afraid to make suggestions or tell us if she preferred one dish over another. For appetizers we shared a couple of the meatball special and the fried goat cheese special. The meatball was literally bigger than a softball and definitely had enough to go around. The fried goat cheese dish also a decent portion and was accompanied by mixed salad greens and a yummy dressing. I personally love goat cheese and thought I died and went to heaven with this starter. In addition, our waitress was happy to supply us with an endless supply of their bread and oil — YUM. For my main course I ordered the lobster ravioli — its hard for me to say no to these, and I am really glad I didn’t. The portion was big enough for me to take half home. Everyone else in our party loved their meals and also felt the portions were huge. At this point we were beyond full and went home happy. I would love to return to Mangia to try more of their delicious menu.

I love this place. One of my favorite Italian restaurants in western New York. The service is good and the food is incredible. The bread and oil is tasty and the focaccia is great. 3 out of the 4 times I’ve been here I’ve had the penne ala Gorgonzola and oh my god is it delicious. It’s perfectly balanced and rich and creamy. It’s just amazing. My girlfriend loves the lobster ravioli’s which I’ve tried and are just as delicious. My buddy got the hot pepper marinara which was spicy but not to spicy and was also balanced quite well. I’ve also had the braciole which was a special but it was amazing, they made it with their meatball mix which is a personal take which I enjoyed. They also have great drinks and an awesome wine list. They have a cocktail bar upstairs as well called M Lounge but it is completely different from the restaurant. It’s a little more hip and modern. Not really my kinda thing but if it’s yours it is pretty nice. The one complaint I have is the noise level. It is very very loud in there. If you can get in the room behind the bar definitely try to, it’s still kinda loud but nothing like the main dining room. I highly recommend Mangia to everyone.

Ate dinner here for the first time on a Tuesday and found the food and service pretty good although the server was bit frosty or hasty, and especially impatient with the senior member of our table, even though the place wasn’t that crowded. We got our drinks fast and our food came in good time so the kitchen was working right. The food was quite good, although a tad overcooked, which is not something I mind although others might dislike fish that’s a bit dry. It just seems like the front of the house isn’t very friendly, although they seem quite professional.

We started with a cocktail in the upstairs lounge which was well decorated, very chic. For dinner we started with a 10oz meatball, so yummy. I have been here at least 3 – 4 times over the past couple of years, and I always enjoy coming here. In the summer, it is a wonderful place to come and enjoy a lovely dinner on the patio while soaking up the last bit of sunshine. Most assume patio, and think casual. However, at Mangia it is still very classy and the service is impeccable. My family came here in late August to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and everyone loved their meals. I also love coming here in the winter. You can walk inside from a snowy ‘polar vortex’(the word of the month), and immediately be wrapped up in the warmth of the interior. The dim lighting, fireplace, and candles on the tables, immediately warms my toes. Snuggle up to a glass of Cab, and just sit back and relax. You really can’t go wrong with the food. I have had a lot, from Caesar salads, to stuffed banana peppers, to the shrimp and crab pasta. Everything is exquisite. I will note, on my last trip(late November) the service was a little slow. The place was pretty busy, but I still wish my waitress came by more often. There were a couple of times my wine and water glasses were empty and waiting. However, during my other experiences, this never occurred.

After walking for my masters degree, I came here with another grad and our families for lunch. I was unimpressed. Tonight I came with my family for dinner and I’m so glad I didn’t sign off on this place after lunch. Dinner is where Mangia excels! The restaurant was packed tonight but the service was great, beginning with calling in the reservation and throughout the meal. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Now, on to the food. Can you say giant portions? The lasagna was the size of my face. The shrimp and crab alfredo, the pollo marsala and the ravioli rosa were also generously sized. Everyone took home leftovers. We also split calamari and the gourmet meatball for appetizers. The calamari was cooked nicely.(One thing I dislike is overcooked calamari.) The meatball was huge and tasty. I could see myself going back just to have a meatball and a drink at the bar. I was really pleased with our meal and with the overall experience tonight at Mangia. I will definitely be back!(I might even be willing to try lunch again. Maybe.) Note: They have also opened a Lounge upstairs for patrons 21 and up. I look forward to visiting again to have drinks upstairs in this upscale but cozy looking lounge.
