The lamb gyro is the best gyro that I’ve ever had, and the lamb shawarma is amazing as well!

Loved it, lost it. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner earlier this week. Returned last night to introduce friends to a great meal. The restaurant was closed with a notification of lost lease on the door. What a shame :(

It’s nice to have a middle eastern restaurant in Oregon City. It’s a very nice little place, nice atmosphere. I thought the portions were a little small for the price. The food tasted good but was not like most lebanese foods I’ve had in many restaurants. I think they’re trying to make it more chic/upscale. The falafel was a little dry for my liking. Overall, we liked it and will probably go back.

We have been coming here since it began! Since Kay has been gone we have not frequented it as much, but spending more time there with John, I must say… it is why we always loved it before… He introduced me to his new«Trio» Humas plater… OMG…fantastic! Many new things and fantastic people… Thank you…

We have eaten here a couple of time, usually because Mi Famiglia(down the street) has botched our«reservations», but we have always had a great experience here. They have a lovely and large room downstairs which can accommodate a fairly good-sized group, although it is a bit dark. And as a bonus, the chairs are very comfortable. They have a diverse Greek menu with plenty of delicious and flavorful vegetarian options. I loved the hummus and spanakopita. I wasn’t wild about the falafel; it seemed kind of dry and bland, but I’ve never had falafel before, so maybe that was how it was supposed to taste. The red lentil soup is divine! The greeter and waiters are very professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend you try this place.

Fantastic! The lamb shank just fell off the bone and the fresh pita was almost a meal in itself. Try the seafood chowder. Very tasty with a hint of citrus. The basmati rice was cooked perfectly and very fragrant. The service was great. We were early enough to miss the rush so we had the place to ourselves at first but it soon filled up. We will definitely return.

The Lamb Shank was awesome! I will definitely come back to try other dishes. It’s wonderful Oregon City has Cypress since there aren’t that many great restaurant in the area.

This place has a variety of very good drinks. If I come again, I’ll just hang out at the bar and maybe have an appetizer. We were seated in a large, dark, empty room where we were the only people. Husband ordered chicken, got lamb, decided to eat it anyway so it wouldn’t go to waste. It was fine. Vegetarians who come here in search of Greek and Lebanese food will be directed to a couple of curries at the back of the menu. The one I had wasn’t bad or anything(I felt like the lady from Goodness Gracious Me who is sitting in a restaurant talking about how she«could have made this at home for free,»), but it wasn’t what I came for.

This is a Greek, Lebanese and Indian cuisine type restaurant. This was my first visit and was not sure of what most of the menu items consisted of, not a very informative description on the menu, but the very friendly and knoweldgeable waitress was happy to help me pick out a selection. This was also the first time I have tried these menu items from these countries so it was all something new to me. I had the KAFTAKEBAB which is lean ground beef prepared with herbs and spices, onions, parsley char broiled. It was very good. In my opinion the lunch prices were a little on the steep side but portion was good sized, probably would be better for dinner. I will return soon to try other menu selections.

The short version: For the price and quality, you can’t beat it in Oregon City. My parents live there and each time we try to scrounge to find somewhere affordable and decent to eat. Our choices are usually fast food or $ 15 plates. Cypress is a nice change from those trends. I haven’t eaten at the physical location but my dad brought home takeout for the family to enjoy. We shared a pair of vegetarian mezzas as appetizers. My mom had the chicken alfredo pizza. My dad and husband each had a chicken shwarma. I had a lamb gyro. The mezza: the hummus, pita bread and dolmas were good. The baba ganoj and tzazkiki sauce were all right. The falafel was a bit too crispy.(I always prefer Lebanese vegetarian mezzas over Greek, though, so this may be a taste preference.) Everyone enjoyed their food. No one had had shwarma before so we can’t compare it accurately. I didn’t try the pizza but both my mom and husband enjoyed it. I thought my gyro was really good, made just the way I like it with a lot of tzazkiki and spicy lamb. It doesn’t compare to food in Portland, but if in Oregon City this is one of the best food options available.

I love Mediterranean food and was excited to have a Greek restaurant in Oregon City. I have been here once on Valentine’s Day, even though it was very busy, we were seated without a reservation right away and our server was attentive and pleasant. We shared the Appetizer Mezza, which included hummus, baba ganooj, tzazkiki sauce, dolmas, falafel and pita bread. While none of these may have been the very best I’ve ever had, they were very enjoyable and far from bad. The atmosphere is pleasant and our food was served in a timely manner. I also ordered the lamb Gyro and Dolmas for take out once, the Dolmas were good and so was the Gyro, but not the best Gyro I’ve ever had. I would definitely be willing to go here again and would like to try more items from their menu before I can truly pass judgment on their overall caliber of food.

I was really looking forward to a Greek restaurant in OC and thought this might be the spot reading other reviews, but this place missed the mark. The décor was nice and our server was attentitive up until we ordered our food. After that, we were left hungry and very thirsty! The appetizers were lack luster and the entrees were bland. I had the falafel pita and the falafel was very dried out. there wasn’t much else to the wrap. the tziki sauce was thin and bland. The chicken and prawn skewers were tasteless as well as the rice. It came with a tomato sauce on the side that tasted canned. We waited a long time for the server to take our plates, get the check, and get change. We won’t be back… :(

Greek food? No freaking way. I despise kalamata olives. Blue cheese gives me chills — and not the good kind. I have never been one to venture into unfamiliar ethnic cuisine. Suggested by a friend for a quick bite and drinks, I felt obligated to say yes — boy was I surprised. Hummus and pita bread — duh. How can you go wrong? But the chicken coco and tzatziki feta dip was better than I could have ever possibly fathomed. If you’re looking for a new place to spice it up, without the dreaded anticipation leading to disappointment — I would highly recommend. Great food and great prices.

Bland food, $ 5 pints, meager portioned Lamb Vindaloo rice bowl(think tomato soup with a dash of indian spice over decent lamb in a bowl little bigger the cup of soup the sauce came from) and a too sweet, uninspiring Mango martini with pepper infused vodka that could barely bill itself with a warning that it might dare zip your tongue, could not even begin to damper the flame of disappointment ignited by that first sip. $ 35 for a Friday night better spent in any of the surrounding OC phở pot, burger bars, pizza oven and dive bars. The lamb pita wrap was the best option on our table $ 7.95 for diced, tender lamb with average fixings lettuce, cuke, toms, onions on a pita. Basic but tasted somewhat familiar. Following that was the $ 5 Ninkasi, then their $ 4 steak cut frozen fries seasoned with generic indian spice(however about 10x more than in the so called Vindaloo) that is accompanied by a trio of dipping sauces – tzatziki, sricha mayo, and ketchup. The most outrageous Vindaloo in the unflattering and non-spicy way, as described above, would even make Campbell’s frown. Cypress need not venture too far out of OC to play a little Cricket in the Bombay Club kind of way(SE Hawthorne not SE Asia) to venture into the field of spice and Indian food to discover what a curry should be. One star for one okay lamb wrap, nice caring servers and trying to up the ante off Main Street. However, Med Fusion or not, hands down pass for next time, for flavor void, sorry.

We went here on short notice last Friday with a couple friends(thanks for the suggestion, fellow Unilocalers). The food was awesome as was the service. This was supposed to be a «hold us over until Toro Bravo,» but me being who I am turned it into a full-on meal. The falafel was a little dry, but very good. The pita was delicious. The humus was awesome. The Greek salad was very good. The drinks were also quite tasty — be warned, however; the mango martini is quite spicy so unless you have quite a hot tongue, go elsewhere. Happy Hour was very reasonably priced — if you stuck just to that, you could get a shit-ton of food for very little moolah. I would happily go here again(and hope to soon).

Can’t beat a place where the hostess greets you with«Two for food and Tequila?» Great, GREAT happy hour menu. Stopped here to «hold us over until dinner.» Left completely stuffed. Their happy hour portions are HUGE! And so affordable! Hummus was smooth, creamy, and very yummy, as was my lentil soup. Their Greek salad is just beautiful to look at and even more enjoyable to eat. I got the mango martini to drink. The server tried to warn me about the spice, but I chose to ignore him as I am wont to do. Don’t ask. Dear lord… hot water burn baby! My mouth was en fuego, and I ended up passing the drink over to my dear husband, who always drinks my leftovers. My mistake. The server very nicely gave me my next drink on the house. What a guy! Would love to try the lunch/dinner portions sometime. And of course, the tequila.

Cypress has returned — and this time I think they’ve nailed it! What was good is now easily fantastic. I can recommend anything on the menu(everybody has their own favs and at $ 5 a steal) and the $ 4 martinis are a MUST. One huge new addition is(for lack of a name) the«Back room». Warm, inviting, comfortable place to hang out and enjoy the people you’re with. Perfect for a business meeting or a special occasion — the Back Room rocks! Service is always great — such a great addition to the Oregon City area. I’ll be frequenting Cypress often.

There aren’t a lot of nice places in Oregon City, so I give this place props for trying to be more high end. It wasn’t a great meal or great drinks, but the wait staff were really pleasant and helpful, the environment is classy although very loud, and the drinks are strong. Went for dinner, and can’t say the food was great. Rather small portions(five small chunks of lamb on a kebob? I mean, SMALL chunks), the sauces are hit or miss, and the pita was stale. The mezza add on for 4 dollars is a lot of food, get one mezza add on for every 2 diners. The tabouli, hummus, etc. were all fine. Dinner runs about 13 – 15 bucks per entrée. They have a few beers on tap. I had the cosmo something or other, with raspberry vodka and champagne, and something else in it, and my husband said it tasted like red jello mix. It really was sickly sweet and syrupy. Next drink was a dirty martini and it was much better, and very strong. I got a little soused. But just a little. When the place fills up it is loud, and the bartender was also the waitress and busperson, so tables sat dirty for a long time. She never was slow on bringing food or drinks, she did a great job. She offered to split the bill between the couples without us asking, and did it efficiently and cheerfully. I don’t know that I would go back again for a planned meal, but if I was in Oregon City and needed a drink and a snack, I’d go for the mezza platter and a martini.
