Tan Republic

If I could give 0 stars I would. Signed up with them. Got pregnant so I went in and asked to cancel. They agreed and told me to comeback in a year … Not even a year yet and they sent me to collections. No call or anything. Terrible company.

I’ve been going to tan Republic for about 3 years and it keeps going downhill. the inside of the building is nice somewhat clean but the outside needs landscaping it looks like an abandoned parking lot. it must be nice also to just be able to kick your feet up when you’re working up on the counter so when your customers come in you just look relaxed, I would have to say more and more lately the staff has been unprofessional in a business you shouldn’t be able to watch employees eat at the front counter have their feet on the front counter or be texting weather trying to give you customer service help

Im not sure where to start. i guess this is more of a warning /​rant than a review… please excuse lack of grammar and punctuation. I am on my phone.
I have been a member for over 5 years with this company, started out simple, then got talked into the MEGA everything package.250 + month years ago and figured ok why not i could afford it. then noticed days that i would go in became very routine… i went in on a random day and they told me i tanned already… UMM NO. Someone at the company must have been letting others use my VIP everything services because they thought i had a routine and wouldn’t find out about it. Asked them to ID me from now on… NEVER DID… asked if the note was put in my account NO. then days they said i tanned and i didn’t, they told me that its impossible to reset the bed for the day so i would have to come back… um no. Months later i decided UV tanning wasn’t for me and started Spray tanning 2 – 3 times a week instead to maintain color. That was fine and all… i only use 2 locations… West Linn, and OC because absolutely hate the blue mystic tan beds that 90% of the other locations use. Since the beginning of 2015 8 out of 10 times i go in. BEDS DOWN… BEDS BROKEN… go over to this location…“um no. are you paying for my gas to drive 35 mins to use the other bed”? I always use level 3 and get uncharged 5 bucks a pop every time. lately i go in and they want to charge me different amounts each time? are you pocketing the cash or what? its 5 bucks check my account ! so i leave and go down to the other location. BAM ! BEDS BROKEN ! wtf ppl credit my account or I’m going elsewhere… they say we will take care of you… never do. I am literally done with TR. I swore by them for years but if your new employees are to damn lazy to clean the bed and claim its broken or for the slight chance it is down. its been 8 months all the $ your charging you should have a army of techs in there… common sense right? Also… last week went in and some guy that was working the front counter asked why my face was swollen, i explained i had a wisdom tooth pulled that morning and he DEMANDED i let him see it. GROSS dude… then tried selling me UV tanning again when my account says dont ask or I’m done with company… due to the person who let others use my acct. i told him i just drove 45 mins in rush hour bc west Linn was down… he called them like i was a liar or something then told me after pretending to do some stuff on the computer to have a seat for a second. a man walks in with his wife and he gets them both into their beds tells me to come up and again tries to get his quota with me and then when i told him i am in a hurry, you’ve taken 25 mins to check me in… he says the network is all of a sudden down and can’t get me in. come back in the morning… QUIT HIRING MORONS. account is being deactivated as soon as corporate calls me back. … ill be interested how long it takes them to cancel me.

I have been going to this tan republic for a couple years now and sadly it just keeps going down hill. Not only do they never open on time, but the staff turn around is horrible. Every time I go in there is a new person at the desk and usually not with the best attitude.

I have had nothing but problems since I signed up a here. Not only was I double charged on a monthly draft, they could not fix it until I cancelled. I had to even change my banking account numbers so I wouldn’t get charged even there after. I was also promised free tans for all of the banking troubles and they never noted my account. I will never go back, nor recommend. Nothing but headache

Funny to see 2 hours ago someone posted saying the same way I felt when I went in today. I’m on a time crunch, I keep saying no not interested in all the extra s**t they wanna sell me. I tan to relax. Sure color is nice but that’s not why I go. Once a very nice gal asked me what I was looking for in going there. I told her to relax. We downgraded my bed and I added the red light therapy and was paying less. That I consider good customer service, she asked me the right questions to figure out my needs. Today the guy in there kept throwing out, do I want to mystic? No. Do I need cream for my scars for the red light? No. Do I need lotion (I’m sure you can see I just bought some not long ago on my acct) NO I do not. Do I need stuff for my tattoo. nO. So damn annoying every single time I spend more time talking then tanning. I know when they are staring at the computer they aren’t putting me in for tanning they are quickly trying to come up with a «deal» to offer. Then they have to ask me what my name is again? Ugh annoying. The one location I do like is on McLoughlin. Gals there are very nice and good customer service. It’s funny because the Oregon city location always talks down about that location, nice to say about a place that shares the same name. That just doesn’t look good to me. Tanning isn’t such a relaxing experience anymore here. Everyone seems so desperate for a sale it’s sad, and seeing how frustrated they get when you keep saying no. Going to ask if we can get a note on my account to stop asking me every damn time.

I used to love coming here, but lately I’ve had a different experience. Every time I come in, I have to hear the same sales pitch about upgrading my package. It takes about five minutes of my time every single time I come in here to listen to the sales pitch about upgrading my package. Honestly, it’s really getting on my nerves. I’m thinking about switching to a different tanning company. The people here used to be a lot more friendlier; I’m not sure what happened. The employee’s attitudes here are just getting really annoying.

I love this location! I had originally signed up at west linn and hated the broken down beds there, so I tried this location since it’s so close to my work! And LOVED it!!! The silver bed I have is very nice, bulbs always work, the staff is friendly, and the store even has a hair straightener for when you get out of the bed! I will never go back to west linn– you’ve won my heart!

Ok, yes, I’ll probably regret all of the years of tanning, but seriously, i really do tan in moderation. I like having some tint to my translucent skin! If I get real sun without having a base tan already, I’ll burn to a crisp and I think that must be more harmful than my tanning bed. So anyway, over the years I’ve used about 5 different tanning salons. i usually buy a yearly membership. I’ve used places that were cute with theme rooms to places that felt like a damn morgue in winter and Hell in summer. My latest salon is perfect. i just bought my 2^nd years package there. It’s stylish, upscale, has a variety of beds and package levels to choose from, friendly staff, large rooms with nice furnishings and a bathroom that I’d die to have in my own home. It’s gorgeous. I go to the Tan Republic at Hilltop oregon City Fred meyer shopping Center. The same owners have one in West Linn and Beaverton so i can use any of the 3. I usually only go maybe 1 time a week or so to keep a slight color, but the biggest benefit is the 20 minute power nap that i get. Also, i used to suffer a lot from winter blues due to lack of sunshine, so this helps keep me happy also. With a base tan I’ve gone to Maui, Oahu, Caribbean and Mexico and never got sunburned because I wasn’t pasty white. I love my tanning salon.
