Another great meal at the Freeway. Had the Reuben and the corn beef was very tender. Try it with the red french! Soups are hot and tasty, salad bar fresh and crisp. One of the best values in Oregon. Always great service.

ok i have been goin to this place since i was a kid. i now take my kids. just b really careful if u go to this place on 1st shift bcuz All the servers r older & make mistakes due to not hearing right & the owner WILLTAKEITOUTON U!!! i orderd the ½ order of roast beef n gravy & my daughter WHITETOAST. well she brings me the full order & wheat toast. ok no biggi on toast but i take 1 bite of my food & notice mistake do i ask & she says no «i only heard roast beef n gravy» which why would she not ask! &2nd as i take another bite she comes up to me w/another plate & grabs my plate & says im gona take half of ur order off!!! so while im eating this is not right. honestly i was only goin to eat only half & keep the rest for her to take. so i tell her while she has my plate to jus keep it!!! i dont care for othr ppl to grab my plate of food while im eating!!! thn she takes my plate away thn brings it back a few min later & says ok we will just charge u for half! im like im ok just forget it. she thn states well wer still gona charge u for it! ok yea i took a few bites & how many times does it take for her to pull my plate to get it right!!! si the owner stands at register & argues w me bcuz i refuse to pay my order which it wasnt wat i orderd. i payed for other orders… he states tht im probly lying bcuz hes sure his server was right!!! WTF man ok yea i really went there to not eat! i had to work n was starving! thn the owner continues by sayin hes calling THECOPS! ok go abead im sure the cops have waaay more important community issues to deal w/thn making a report over ur senior server messing 2 meals up!!! which really would of been no biggi if she didnt grab my plate while im eating thn tske it away & bring it back twice!!! thn the owner follows me out yelling dont come back! really i dont plan on it! NEVEREVERAGAIN!!!

Middle of the night there is no better place to get some Decent good old American artery clogging food when you’ve been out drinking or a late night at work. Friendly staff, Humorous drunks entertained the entire resturant for a good 45 minutes during our last visit.

Few buddies and myself always go here when we get off of our 3rd shift week. The wait staff is always in a great mood. We tend to get loud and rowdy and they have fun right along with us. The booths are pretty beat up and most of them are ripped and taped, but the food is amazing. So ignore the look and go for the food and I assure you that you will not be disappointed.

Best coffee in town, hands down, every time; never, ever unfresh, weak, to strong, nor burnt. Éclair pancake is better than any other«stuffed» pancake or crêpe available anywhere. Best steak & eggs value that I have ever found… just order your steak one level rarer than you normally would as they tend to lean toward well-done. Longest I’ve ever had to wait for a table was 15 minutes(Sunday, after church brunching rush), but tables are usually readily available. Even better is the local, small-business history still living there; my family has been frequenting Free-Way for four generations & we see no end in sight to that tradition. Old-school includes no credit/debit card acceptance, so bring your cash; you won’t need much & it is more than worth it.

The free-way Drive-in has been around for well over 50 years, and serves up classic american diner cuisine, twenty four hours a day. The atmosphere is pretty incredible, with wood on wood on wood panels and time capsule details everywhere. The place hasn’t been updated in decades, and that’s a good thing if you ask me.

My first Freeway experience, pretty mediocre. I ordered a pretty bland meal though so wasn’t expecting anything fabulous(grilled cheese and fries) The fries were tasty but the meal was a bit cold, but I’m blaming that on my co-diner who ordered a more complicated meal. The pancakes looked quite tempting, definitely want to go back to try the éclair pancakes. I like the restaurant and can see how its a popular 24⁄7 breakfast place.

I used to have a routine in the morning after work. Get in my car and go find breakfast. The Freeway became my place of choice. I used to live on the east side of Toledo, not too far from Oregon. I lived on the last street in Toledo before you got to Oregon. So this place was on the way home. The breakfast crowd isnt too heavy meaning that there are just enough people to keep them busy, but not too busy to forget you ordered coffee. In all the time I went there for breakfast, I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup. That is a good reason to return. Its even better when they memorize your order and know your name. The food is good solid American fare, you wont be doing any 5 star dining here. But you will leave full. That is something they do well. Another thing they do well is pie. They always have at least 10 different pies available at any given time, and yes, they are homemade. You can drop a sawbuck in here, and if you do, you’ll have had one great meal. Working the east side in my cab took me to the docks a lot. Sailors looking for a bar, then afterwards a good meal. I knew where, and sometimes was invited in to have a nosh with my passenger. That always netted me a great tip, and usually them asking for my personal phone number for the next time they were in port. One has to cultivate business if you’re going to have a leg up on the competition. Bottom line here: Go, eat, enjoy.; and if you happen to lock your keys in your car, the friendly Oregon police will open it for you, and you won’t have to look far. They eat here too.

It’s 3 A.M. on Sunday morning. You’ve been home from the bar long enough to realize that you only have cigarettes, pickle juice and ketchup in your apartment. RESIST the urge to make a run for the border and head to Free-Way. They’re not actually a drive-in, but they ARE the best 24-hour joint in the Toledo area. Their breakfast portions are so crazy big that you’re glad they’re right across from the hospital, because you might just need an emergency angioplasty after wolfing down a stupendous plate of stuffed crepes.

Whoa — we were a LOUD party of 11. There was only one other table in the place and we scared them off I believe. The waitresses were patient with us because my family seems to come here so often. I cant believe how cheap this place was for some large portioned food. My plate was good and the french toast my friend had next to me looked super yummy. I don’t know what everyone else got but the table got quiet and usually that“s a sign of good food!
