This review is primarily regarding the swim lessons and the pool: We paid $ 120 for three kids to have nine half-hour group(5 – 6 kids) lessons each(they were in different levels). The staff arrived late and left early every time. One of the instructors looked like she would rather be anywhere but helping kids learn to swim. The others seemed pleasant enough. Furthermore, there was no separate area for swim lessons, so the kids had to try and learn with other kids and adults swimming and playing through their lessons. On a couple of occasions our kids got bumped from the regular pool to the«leisure pool»(i.e. even more kids splashing through the lessons) when there were swim meets. In addition to making parking nearly impossible, swim meets filled the leisure pool with additional non-paying patrons. To top things off, the life guards(one in particular) enforce rules arbitrarily. This really sucks the fun out of the experience, especially if your family is on his naughty list. One rule requires someone over 14 to accompany anyone under 9 in the pool. Makes sense. We didn’t know the rule and got a warning when we let our kids play in the shallow area while we sat poolside. There were at least four lifeguards in the area, and we were close enough to reach our kids quicker than the lifeguards. Our bad. We have been warned nearly every visit since for some similar infraction. Today I counted over forty kids who looked younger than nine, and only 6 teenagers or adults(including myself). A particular lifeguard, who harasses us nearly every visit, beelined past multiple parents sitting poolside watching their underage kids swim to give my wife another warning about our kids swimming without immediate supervision(guess he didn’t know I was in the water with the kids). In any case, my wife has felt singled out and embarrassed by this particular lifeguard’s unwanted attention. After swim lessons, we won’t be back. Ultimately, we really wanted to like our experience. The new leisure pool seems excellent; however, the swim lessons weren’t worth the cost for us, and some of the staff have ruined visiting for pleasure.

We have had a pass to the rec center for years and have really enjoyed it. Great for our family and my wife and I enjoy working out and participating in some of the programs they offer.
