Food and service were great. No problems there. Young staff which is good. Food was hot. They need to work on bacon cooking a little more. If you ask for burnt they should be burnt. My comments are on the building. The carpet looks like it hasn’t been changed since the early 90’s. It smells like that too. When you walk in the smell hits you. It really doesn’t leave you either. I actually wanted to ask if they could leave the door open. The blinds are old and usually in disarray. At least make a system where you open them or close them. We went during dusk and half were open and closed or in the middle. The bathrooms were horrible. Old sinks stalls and tiles give it a bad old feel. I felt dirtier after I left the bathroom. The lights were dim and the seat cushions were ripped and holy.

One of the worst transgressions a wait staff can do is pounce on you the minute you walk in the door. Barely cracked the menu open and they want to know exactly what we want to eat!?! Seriously?! … Give me a few minutes! Where’s the fire?! … On her head of course, her bright rusty red hair made her skin looker redder than it already was and her long fire engine red fingernails were ghastly… I was ready for her to breathe red flames of fire on us like a dragon! … Dreadful looking chick! Looked so RED! Dying to get us started! … Gave us the coffee pronto but when you needed a refill, she was no where in sight… A bust boy came to our aid! Food was OK but the table manners and service here was atrocious… Not the best experience!

It’s amazing how the Denny’s locations vary so much from one to the other. This location is NOT one I would return to. After going through 3 sets of silverware to find a fork without food stuck to it, I had almost had enough. The food was your typical Denny’s cuisine and the service was acceptable, however what really soured the whole experience was that nobody seemed to care that I had to «hunt» for a clean fork! The waitress and the person working the front end blamed the dishwasher. No ownership!

I forget her name, but the waitress we always try to get who works early in the day Monday and Tuesday is amazing! She bleeds energy and charisma and a joy to have as a waitress. Food is good too.

I just went to this Denny’s last night with my wife and our mutual friend. To sum it up, the service was horrible. Our original server was in the process of training a new server, but left him to handle the task by his self. When we were seated, there were 2 place mats instead of 3, no silverware, we received no napkins, the one of the 3 orders was terrible, it was loud, and overall horrible experience. The service isn’t that bad in the mornings, but late nights are horrible. I don’t suggest going to this Denny’s late at night. They should fire all of the late night staff and hire all new staff.

Dennys to go!?? i work late night shifts, and on my home from work if i wanna pick up a quick bite to eat I try calling here to place a to go order. 10% of the time it happens and they actually answer the phone. The other 90% of the time it just rings and rings and rings and rings. When i do not get an answer. I stop in and place my order. 35 minutes later im left with cold food. that has been sitting out. my food has been done for 20 minutes. This location should just stop do the Dennys to Go. its a absolute disgrace. just pathetic. corporate will be contacted. and hopefully this location will give the to go aspect up. just ridiculous. !!!

I came here around midnight on a Friday after seeing a concert. I understand it’s Denny ‘s and isn’t going to be the highest quality but I was disappointed even with my low expectations. There were people in there but it wasn’t crowded by any means. It took forever for us to get our food and when it showed up it was wrong. At that point I didn’t even correct them because it would of taken another hour. The waiter never came back to check on us. I wish we just would of gotten Mexican food!

It’s a DENNY’S. You don’t come here because it’s good food, you come here because it’s 2 am, you hate your life, you’re hungry, and want to shove your fat face with greasy food. The employees here are awesome. I’ve been going here for years. We’ve had Nigel, Tina, and Dion, all of them are cool. But seriously, it’s a Denny’s. Review the location, not the menu. For a Denny’s, this place has good service. The food sucks, but there aren’t many places that are open 24 hours.

I never in a million years though that I would ever give a Denny’s more than a two star rating but here I am breaking the rules again. The food — typical Denny’s taste and quality. The service — Through out my life, I have discovered that it is very hard to get attentive, fast and friendly service at Denny’s. I have been here a few times recently and i must say that everyone that has served us at this Denny’s has been remarkable. This is one of the few Denny’s that has earned my repeat business

Am I really reviewing a Denny’s? Yeahsurewhynot? This Denny’s is fine. I’ve eaten there 1.9 million times. Possibly 2.9. My mom and grandma used to take me here for lunch before I could see over the tops of the tables. This is where my wife asked me out for the very first time. You can’t really say anything bad about a Denny’s. You always know what the food is going to taste like, you always know what you’re going to get and it’s usually pretty satisfying. The main reason I’m reviewing this one is because we stopped in here this past Saturday and it was kind of a funny cluster. We walked up to the hostess stand(which sounds a little too fancy for Denny’s, but it is what it is) and the dead-inside girl standing there asked how many of us there were. She didn’t say hello, or actually welcome us, just asked how many of us there were. It was 3:30 on a Saturday. There were about 2 – 3 other tables filled in the whole place and the only people standing waiting for a table had a party of 3. We told her there were 3 of us, she grabbed 3 menus and walked away. We took that as a cue to follow her. She put the menus down on the table and left. Friendly girl, that one is. Immediately, and I mean IMMEDIATELY before we even opened our menus a waitress came to ask us what we wanted to drink. We didn’t know yet. She was friendly and said she’d come back. She didn’t. I fear something horrible happened to her because she NEVER came back. After 20 minutes of waiting(we actually timed it), the girl who seated us re-appeared and offered to take our drink orders. By that point I’d almost forgotten what I wanted because we were too busy discussing where else we could go. So she returned with two of the three drinks. In the time it took her to walk to the back and prepare two of them, she forgot what the third one was. She asked my friend what he’d ordered and he reminded her. I requested water for the table as well. She returned with his drink and one glass of water with three straws. Not quite what I was hoping for, but perhaps Denny’s is employing some sort of rationing system that I don’t quite understand. Finally, a third waitress appeared, apologized for her tardiness and tried to take our food order. I told her we weren’t interested in ordering anything else, and I think she misunderstood that to mean I was upset about how long it took her to come over to us. Sidebar: More than 30 minutes? Kinda. But it was irrelevant since we did finally get our drinks. She apologized up and down and comped our drinks. Which was nice, but unnecessary. I’m pretty sure she thought we were a whole lot more mad than we were. In actuality, we just wanted a break from the horrible horrible pre-Christmas mall traffic and were thirsty. But I got kind of a funny story out of it. Not really the best experience I’ve had at Denny’s, or even this Denny’s, but funny nonetheless.

Why is there no choice for zero stars! We waited 20 min for nothing!!! Great place if you need to waste time for no apparent reason! Took almost as long exiting the mall drive because of the massive stupidity focused from Denny’s!

Typical 2-star American diner franchise. Nothing special, but you get the greasy food you’re looking for here. Our server was super sweet and accommodating. She was very patient and nice about the mess my little toddler was making. Her service alone gives the place an extra star.

I took the kids here for breakfast. Kids had pancakes. They came strait from the microwave. Super rubbery. I had the light skillet. It was ok. They have the smallest coffee cups I have ever seen. The whole meal costs us 19.00, for 3 kids and myself. You get what you pay for. Service was good. The place seems a little dated and is not the cleanest around.

On 11−10−12 at 5:30pm, our family waited over one hour for breakfast food ordered which came cold and overcooked. Trying to make a complaint, the on duty manager, a young black man, started to snicker to the two men sitting behind our table. It was at that time I told the manager that he was inappropriate and not manager material. He then got on his cell and called the general manager yelling at the GM that she needed to come in right now that he cannot handle this. We left but before walking out the door, the acting manager stated that the GM was coming and wouldn’t I like to wait. I told him that we were leaving as we had grandchildren with us and it was already 7:30pm with no food. I told him I would contact corporate to complain and also the health department because of the cold food which is against regulations. He asked if I wanted the phone number which I replied I would get them myself. He then snipped to have a great evening. This location is despicable. Additionally, whoever this acting manager was as he refused to give his name to me should be fired! There is only one cook in the kitchen. This is my 3rd time in this Denny’s and I will never go back or to any Denny’s for that matter. It is a shame that there is no oversight also to the bathrooms. The baby changing table was filthy and needed to be disinfected by my daughter before changing my 3 month old granddaughter. The tables edges are filthy. This is a health hazard and I will be reporting this to the Orland Park Health Department! Denny’s should be ashamed of this establishment. I will be spreading the word on the bad service, horrible food, unclean restaurant, high chairs, booster seats, bathrooms and baby changing table.

Best Dennys around this area. Excellent service and compliments to the chef. The coffee is very good, not colored water with no flavor, like some places!

Once again, I do not like to rate chain restaurants but this one deserves a great rating. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was seated and within 5 minutes I had OJ and water and ice(which I didn’t ask for, just in case I wanted to put it in my OJ) and my order had been taken. Food arrived shortly after and well it was similar to all denny’s food.
I cannot speak more highly of the server that I had, I think she was the only one in the restaurant too, she may have been the cook too, i don’t know.

We were seated and our orders for beverages were placed. Everything was going swell. I get my coffee, and a little pitcher of cream comes along with it. I pour some into my coffee, and low and behold, I see little clumps of cream rising to the top. No worries, though, since we had what I believed to be a nice and capable server! I told her of the problem when she came back to take our food order. She brought me out a new cup of coffee right away, but no new creamer. I waited a bit before flagging her down for some new creamer. Somehow, she got a wee bit confused, because she took away my new coffee, brought me an empty cup, and still, had not replaced the creamer. When she brought our food, I waved the white flag on the situation, and just asked for a Cherry Coke instead. Besides that, nothing special to report.

So many great nights here. I mean, really, it’s a Denny’s so it’s not gourmet cuisine. But it’s good food at a good price, and they’re 24 hours. You really can’t ask for much more! (Plus you are almost guaranteed some funny people watching at this location!)

Ditto Brittany C.‘s comment of spending way too many late nights in high school here – guilty as charged. That being said, I waitressed at the now-extinct Oak Forest Denny’s and always came here when it was time to leave my «home turf», so to speak(read as: show up a little intoxicated with a loud-ass group. No real complaints. It’s your standard Denny’s, you know? They were a little less-than-happy to see my high school«group” – lots of emo, black-lipstick-wearing goth girls and heavy metal, long-haired boys. We were always pretty loud, rather obnoxious, and oftentimes inebriated, though, so I couldn’t really blame their disdain too, too much. Reasonable«diner» food for a decent price. I mean, really… aren’t *most* Denny’s always a safe bet? If you’re out late at night or just on the road and in need of a bite, isn’t Denny’s always a tried-and-true spot to nosh? Oui.
