I hear that they are going to be opening in the old Toninos spot on John Humphrey Drive. The corner of the strip mall with Café Gaston. Not sure when they are going to reopen.

Great spot. Fat Sams is a good location near the theater and mall and other major landmarks in OP. It’s divey but it’s fun. Usable bathroom. Open on Christmas. It was one of only a handful of bars open on Christmas. It’s a cozy place on a cold Christmas night. It was pretty crowded for a Christmas night. Great bubble hockey. I don’t know what it’s called; arcade hockey? Either way it’s a difficult game and made even more difficult by factors two: 1. One of the speakers was blaring into the top of my head as I’m trying to setup my shots. It’s hard to score a goal with TSwift scream-singing at me to shake it off. 2. The board ejects the puck towards one goal so be aware and man that goalie appropriately to compensate. The Bulls game was on. We chilled and watched the game. They have probably 10 or so screens; staggered programming too, some were playing the game others weren’t. Super chill bartenders. Granted I just bought a coke and didn’t drink; it was a one-and-done Christmas night.

Great times, great food, great drinks, Hawk games, will come back again. Service could be a little better/friendlier but it may have been because it was a busy night. Parking situation could be better but never had a bad experience.

A good dive bar for drink specials. A younger crowd. Good in the summer with their outdoor patio. Also have corn hole to keep you entertained.

Fats is cool for drinks and also a smoke factory. The Bears crew is pre 25 and can’t handle their liquor. Better order less and break in your liver with some Milorts before displaying rookieness. The men’s rooms smelled like an abattoir(look it up) and needs deconstruction. All in all fun dump.

Love the staff, the owner and the out door seating! Great selection on drinks and the bands are really good! All in all I get the hype on this place

This place rocks! The owners are cool as well as the workers! They remember who you are, and what you like which adds an extreme amount of value to their high level of customer service. Their Beer garden is pretty cool(you can play bags, or listen to live bands that play). If you are looking for a place to meet people and have a few drinks I highly recommend fat SAMs.

Its a dive-bar. Pretty decent drink specials but I’m not sure about the food. we didn’t eat there. Its very dark inside and kind of smells musty.

I haven’t been here in a few years. I used to actually kinda hate this place. But i happened here on a gorgeous spring day and played some bags and fell in love. With a bar… then after a few drinks a waitress… and after a few more drinks a chair… and then tacos I really love tacos. I digress. Fat Sam’s has redeemed itself in my eyes as a viable watering hole. There is enough room for three sets of bags and the people to play them. You aren’t ridiculously on top of each other, but your still making friends whether you want to or not. But its a bar and the buckets of beer are average price and there are girls here. They even have some craft/local breweries on tap. I was happy that I came back here and will definitely be back again.

I met up at Fat Sams with a group of people on a Saturday night to see a friend’s band. We’ve been to this place for this reason multiple times. There is a $ 5 cover whenever there is a band, which I don’t mind paying. If I was just there for a few drinks, then I would mind. Fat Sams is great for groups of people. There are plenty of tables, and lots of room. I’ve never actually had any food from here, but I have seen the typical fried appetizer plate a few times. We just come here for the booze and band. The service was surprisingly good at our table. The waitress was really on top of the beers, and that turned out to not be so good for me! They have tall drafts with a pretty good selection including Shock Top and 312. The one thing that never changes about this place is that the music is too loud for being indoors. I generally listen to music/movies pretty loud, but my ears were ringing the next morning. But I’ll be back for the beer and music, maybe with some earplugs next time.

If you are looking for a chill neighborhood bar Fat Sam’s is excellent. The owners of the place are really friendly and nice, and I have never had a problem with getting prompt, service. I guess that seems really generalized, but I have never been to a bar where it really seemed like they went out of their way to make everyone feel like a valued customer.

Oh, Fat Sam’s. It seems like in the past few years Fat Sam’s has become a more viable option for my age group to go to on the weekends. I am not exactly sure why that is. Fat Sam’s is conveniently on the corner of Lagrange and 159th. It does have that going for it. It is a dark, cozy place with various areas that remain memorable. For example, they have a fenced-in outdoor area, that is actually pretty nice. Smokers unite, cornhole tossers toss their bead-sacks into the cornhole out there, and everyone is having a good time. Inside, there is one of those oldschool hockey gaming machines, where the players move on rails and you spin them around to score goals. Nostalgic and fun. There are dart boards(although they are very close to tables and on a packed weekend night you are bound to piss off a table by being too close to them.) There is also a little corner dance floor area, which is hilarious. Out of the twenty-ish times I’ve been here, I have never seen anyone dance on the dancefloor. That is, until last night, where a couple drunken girls from the Halloween costume contest were doing their thing, letting everyone not-so-subtley know that they were down to clown. I’ve never eaten here. The pricing is fair, beers are cheap. I’m only here on weekends but I believe they have good daily specials. I will say that the server we had last night — the schoolgirl who slightly resembled Katy Perry — was extremely pushy. Every three minutes she would ask us if we were ready for more shots. I asked her if she was a DUI lawyer on the side. She didn’t find it funny. So we bought more shots. My favorite all-time memory of this place was over the summer of 2011. I was outside in the back with some friends, it was a nice warm night. This girl we all knew from high school… we’ll call her Laura D, was absolutely hammered. She proceeded to fall over our table(breaking everyone’s beer bottle but mine, which I saved) and was rolling all over the concrete on top of the sudsy spilled beer and shattered glass. She then got kicked out, and walked east across the LaGrange Rd(from the front entrance) and promptly plopped herself on the grass in between the sidewalk and LaGrange Road. As we got into our cars and left, she was still there, laying in the grass, legs dangling out onto LaGrange Road. Classic. Fat Sam’s charges a cover about every weekend, for some terrible DJ whose music is cookiecutter and superloud. Nobody’s dancing, why blast 80’s metal deafeningly loud, or B96 nonsense for that matter. Play the music, yes, just not so loud. And don’t charge me 3 damn dollars for it. Fat Sam’s is best when you’re with good company. I typically don’t expect crazy things to happen here, but it’s a nice spot to throw some beers back, get forced into more shots than you probably want, and if you’re lucky, find a couple dirty girls who are down to clown.

This place is what a bar should be. It is totally Cheers. The girls are cute and the guys are friendly. It has a great vibe. This is definitely the best beer garden in Orland and probably the only true sports bar. If you are out for a good time with friends this is the place to be. I was sitting at the bar doing shots and the owner was buying random people drinks and making everyone feel inlcuded.

I went here awhile back to with my husband and his friend to watch a football game that was only being carried on the NFL network. We tried to go to a few Buffalo Wild Wings in the area, but they were all crowded, so we came here. It’s kind of small, but has lots of TVs, full bar and standard bar food. A very no-frills place. Good for what it is, but don’t expect anything else. I didn’t think a place like this could exist in Orland Park, mainly because it’s not a chain and not some hip non-chain restaurant. It’s a dive bar, nothing more.

I love this place because although I had been there many times, this was the place where the lovely lady I now call mine, gave me my first kiss, and it was a life changing moment! Bringing her into my life was nothing shy of a gift from God, and so our reverence for this place is very special. Love the energy of the crowd, staff is very hard working and they are busting their booty to make you happy. Have a few cold ones, toss back a shot or two, catch a college or pro game on one of the many tv’s or sample some of their bar grub and shoot a game of darts. They also have a DJ and dance floor on weekends. Sometimes is it the perfect place to people watch. Always worth a chuckle.
