I hurt my back in July and dealt with the pain until I started experiencing nerve pain. After trying conservative approaches I ended up in the hospital prior to Christmas. When the Neurosurgeon looked at my MRI and tested my for strength he wanted to do surgery the following day. My husband and I chose to get a second opinion. I was referred to Dr. Lim by an coworker of my aunts. While it took a month to get in to see him I’m glad I went to him. He was very personable with myself and included my husband in the conversation. He agreed with the initial doctors recommendation so I made the choice to have the microdisectomy done by him. I’m a week out from hanging the surgery and, while I still am experiencing nerve pain, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. My only complaint that doesn’t pertain to only Dr. Lim, is being told that I would be ready to resume normal activity right away. I’ve had to take the week of work and am still limited in my movements. But I was also told the same thing by the surgeon I saw while in the hospital. So my advice is to not get caught up if your recovery takes longer than a couple days. In the future if I have issues(which he thinks I will from the damage to my disc) I will not hesitate to return to Dr. Lim.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lim’s for more than 8 years after a serious accident(I was physically struck by a truck!). I am truly confident that without his help, and the staff at his office, I would not be walking. I have had 8 surgeries over the years, and not once was I ever treated with anything but respect as both a patient and a person. Dr. Lim’s bedside manner and personal attention to my concerns fars exceeds rating him 5 stars … I give him a 10! I hope never to have to see any other Orthopedic Surgeon other than Dr. Lim!

Dr. Lim is a spine surgeon at Midwest Orthopaedics in Orland Park. I saw him for pain in my neck, shoulder, and arm and numbness in my hand. Dr. Lim ordered an MRI and we learned that I had a herniated disk. He performed my surgery a couple of days later, and the pain was gone the next day; the numbness was gone within a couple of days, and I never needed pain medication following the surgery. Dr. Lim is an excellent surgeon and, despite his office being very busy at times, he is always very professional and kind, and has an excellent bedside manner. I knew I was in good hands with him and never second-guessed my choice. I would highly recommend him.
