This food is amazing. So fresh, flavorful, colorful,…just delicious. I have been 2 or 3 times and I have never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly and greets you when you enter. I will definitely be back!

Was here recently, did carryout. Thought $ 16 was high for Chicken schwarma dinner. You know what? I got three meals out of that thing! Chicken slightly dry but not inedible, hummus was great, pitas were real good. The yellow rice, plentiful was very moist and helped the schwarma. Veggies on side were very flavorful as well. Very pleased with what I got. Do recommend stopping here. The lentil soup was awesome!

The food here is so good it’s unreal! Meats are all very well seasoned and moist. Hummus, grape leaves and falafel are The BEST I’ve EVER had. Worth the drive!

Much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. Chicken shawarma was fantastic. Portions are enormous and a very good value for the money. The entrée items come with so many dishes along with it, it was a lot of food and all so good. The fatoush salad was delicious and a great accompaniment to the meal. Brought our son there, he is too young to eat any of the food but they have highchairs and didn’t bat an eyelash at a baby being present. Pitas were fine, none compare to Naf Naf.

Stopped in on a Sunday evening — clean, bright, tables well spaced. People were ordering me from the counter to go — we decided to stay and eat in and got service at the table. The young server was very pleasant but not terribly well trained(didn’t check to see if everything was okay after bringing the entrees until we were nearly finished). We ordered the falafel to share(4.20/doz — pretty reasonable), they came out hot and were clearly fresh. There wasn’t as much cumin as I typically like, they had most a fennel taste to them, but they were very good. I ordered the chx kabob dinner, hubby beef kabob dinner. The tasty lentil soup came out first, then the salad, hummus(exceptional) & hot fresh pita bread — mmmmmmmmm. Next the shish-kas w/2 different kinds of rice, one piece of grilled onion, bell pepper & tomato. We didn’t care for the red rice which we were told was traditional, the yellow rice is what the server called the Americanized rice — it was enjoyable. My chicken was very flavorful but slightly dry and I would’ve liked a bit more veg. Hubby said the beef was good. Would’ve loved a glass of wine with dinner but they don’t sell alcohol. I didn’t think to ask if we could byob next time — we’ll definitely be back. Whole meal was slightly over $ 30 not including tip & we have plenty leftover for tomorrow’s dinner

I never leave or write reviews, but I feel like if I didn’t, I would be doing humans everywhere a disservice. Just try either of the combo dinners, and you will be overwhelmed with your wise decision making, I promise!

When I walked in I was surprised there was no one else there and thought that might be a bad sign — but I’m glad I didn’t leave. This place is really, really good. Place is pretty attractive looking for a medium-priced semi-casual, semi-fancy spot. They were out of a couple things I wanted on the menu, but the customer service was very friendly and it was amazing how quick I got my food and how fresh everything tasted considering how fast I got it. The presentation was excellent too and they give you A LOT of food. Def two meals worth or you can share one plate for two. I was amazed at all the things you get with a dinner entrée — hummus, salad, soup in addition to soft, warm pita. Everything was very tasty — rice, meat(I got chicken shistawook) and sauces. I left very satisfied and would def recommend. They even have their own app you can use to order!

My husband and I came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago for lunch. It was such a great experience that I catered my Persepolis book club meal from here and again, total success. When we ate in we had the dinner which included lentil soup. I had sworn I would never eat lentil soup, the idea just didn’t appeal to me. At all! But there I was slurping it down. Delicious! I had lamb kabobs, rice, hummus and rice as my main plate and everything was flavorful and satisfying. Our server was young but quite earnest about pleasing us. We talked with a family at another table, it was just a very warm welcoming experience. Yesterday my book club consisted of 6 women and we couldn’t finish the feast we had ordered. We had bread, 3 kinds of hummus, salad, 2 kinds of rice and all kinds of meat. It was huge and delicious. After book club I took all the leftovers to my daughter’s house and 4 adults and one child had more than enough to eat. My SIL took some leftovers for his lunch. If you are a fan of Middle Eastern food you NEED to come here. You will love it!

This place was perfect for when my family and I were in the Orland Park area and were craving Mediterranean food. The flavors(to me at least) were true to the flavors of the Mediterranean. It took a while for our order to finish even though there were no sit ins and only one other carry out customer(that we could see). The food was a little pricey but this kind of food usually is. I would definitely still come here again! We got the kufta kabob, falafel, tabouleh salad, and another meat that I can’t remember the name of. All delicious!

Great food — we found it on Unilocal and it exceeded our expectations. Delicious! Our daughter, eats middle eastern food in DC all the time and she stated that it’s the best she has had.

In my opinion, you usually have to go to the city to get amazing quality food like this. You have to try it if you like this kind of food or if you’ve never tried it. You won’t be disappointed. Everyone that I have taken here has been surprised at how much they loved it!

Ordered some breakfast which we call(nawashif) Hummos, foul, falafel, kalaya, and potatoes/eggs. Everything tasted delicious and very fresh. The cook and server where very friendly and made sure we were happy. The mint tea was amazing and so minty. Just the way I like it. Oh yeah, the bread was fresh!

I’m afraid that I must revise my previous review. It turns out that Shish Kabob house is under new management, which makes my previous review incredibly inaccurate. Shish Kabob House no longer delivers. I can’t say anything about the food, but there’s no way it can be the same. It’s a shame that one of the only truly authentic middle eastern restaurants in the area couldn’t make it. Please don’t call yourself Shish Kabob House if you’re a totally different restaurant now. Looks like I’ll be taking my business to Naf Naf! At least I can count on them for consistency. My boyfriend and I get shish kabob house delivered about once a week. It’s by far our favorite food to get delivered in the area, even more than pizza! The chicken shwarma is the best I’ve ever had. It’s so tender and juicy and full of flavor. The steak Shawarma is also tasty but a bit more on the drier side. The rice can be really good or just okay, it depends on the day I guess. My boyfriend and I are big fans of the combination shwarma dinner with soup. We love how it comes with so many sides. The hummus is the best I’ve ever had. Honestly!!! It’s incredibly smooth with a spicy kick. Way better than anything from the grocery store. There are certain items like the lentil soup, rice, and picas that are far better at another Mediterranean restaurant in the area. But overall, it’s crazy good. I love how they deliver and I look forward to the next time I don’t want to cook!

I had a craving for some middle eastern fare on a Saturday night and wanted to try something that wasn’t Naf Naf. I went to the store and ordered a chicken & beef shawarma to go. I couldn’t help but notice they have fresh baked goods, exotic drinks and other assorted items in addition to the restaurant menu. The inside is nicely decorated with appropriate music playing in the background, I felt as if I had been transported off of 159th street and into Arabia. The woman working the counter was very pleasant, and my order was ready in a [very quick] ~10 minutes. Everything was delicious! I think I preferred the beef over the chicken shawarma. I thought the salad, rice, and soup that came with the entrée were also quite tasty. My only complaint would be the price, I believe my dinner(which made for 2 large meals, mind you) was around $ 14. A lot to shell out for a carry out dinner, but to be honest it’s really nice that The Shish Kabob House is serving up authentic, halal middle eastern food right in Orland Park. To get this similar quality and preparation, I find you usually have to go to Harlem ave. Great meal, highly recommend!

Great take on middle eastern food. Greeted by the owner right when I entered. The waitress was patient and soft spoken. The food was great. Shwarma sandwich came with big steak fries that where all made fresh to order. The falafel sandwich I thought was a bit expensive at $ 5 but when it came out i knew I was mistaken. This thing was filled with falafels and salad. Definitely recommend

Everything about this place is average. I’ve only ordered carry out, so I can’t comment on the in house dining experience. However, based on the lighting and what I’ve observed when I wait to pick up my order, I dont think I would want to dine here. The space is just not very inviting. The food and service are average. I’ve tried several menu items and everything tasted average. The only thing that stood out was one of the skewers in the combination platter– but I can’t even tell you what type of meat it was(since the other 3 skewers are all different). Their hummus is also good, but the hummus to pita ratio is way off. I actually like their sandwiches but the last few times I’ve ordered, the wraps have been so oily.

I was kinda nervous to try a new joint. Used to be the nile, we ordered the beef/chicken shwerma, falafel and kebbeh. Very good! They take pleasure in making good food! Thank you for that and I hope it stays that way when I’m in Orland will keep you on mind! Try this place out. Falafel is crispy to perfection.

I decided to stop here for lunch recently and I’m glad I did. I ordered the chicken shawarma and it was delicious. The lady working there was super friendly. The only drawback I see with this place is that it is kind of hidden making it hard to find. Once you do find it, it is definitely worth it. Plenty of seating options making it great for big groups if needed. If I’m in the area again, I will definitely stop by and try something different. Perhaps a beef shawarma!
