The staff is nice and professional, the food was good wish they had offered me a fried rice upgrade. The food gets done real quick which means it’s not freshly cooked but it wasn’t too old.

Pretty solid burger. Nothing special but it was quick and well priced. I don’t really care about the décor. I don’t go to a burger joint for the atmosphere. Will eat there again.

It was my best intention to give this place a great review. The portions were large… The burger was indeed overcooked and onion rings too. While the burger was, well, reasonably beefy, it also lacked a solid flavor. Although it had bacon and avacado, it still didn’t have a flavor that I would call, good… Wife liked her burger but she checked in also, we’ll see what she says. Lastly, my Ma-In-La got a chicken salad, she also said her chicken tasted like chicken jerkey… Sorry Unca Chew… Sounds like you still need some TLC to get the solid reviews. O

Uncle Chong Best Burger opened recently in Orland, and tonight was the first time my wife and I has been here. As you walk in, you see the place is an interesting mix of Asian, American, and Mexican(and a bit of Mediterranean). We was directed to seat ourselves by the person behind the counter, and sat in one of the very roomy booths. Our waitress came over and placed chips and salsa on the table for us to snack on while we read the menu. Neither us us liked the runny(watery) salsa. The bulk of the menu was American fare: Hamburgers, fries, hotdogs, salads, and soups, but there were also some Mexican choices like burritos to choose from. I got the jalapeño burger and fries and my wife got the cheeseburger with onion rings(for an extra 50 cents). The menu stated all burgers were cooked medium well. It only took a few minutes to get our food. The burgers were quite large and the sides were hot from the fryer. My fries were done and tasted good. The onion rings were tasty as well. Our burgers patties were cook very, very well done, with crunch-around-the-edges doneness. 15 more seconds on the grill and they would have been inedible. Definitely over-cooked. I tired to explain to the waitress that the meat was too overdone, but she didn’t understand. The décor is an odd mix… Mediterranean photos on the wall, Mexican snacks like chips and salsa, tapitio sauce on the tables, and display of Mexican ice creams near the door, a Chinese display above the grill, barns and farm scenes painted on the walls, and a primarily American menu. There was a radio going for the customers(pop-country) which was competing with the Mexican music coming from the cooks station. The combo of the two was somewhat annoying. The men’s bathroom was huge and very clean… a rarity these days. The prices were fare with both meals(no drinks, water only) coming in at just under $ 15. Pros: Big burgers, good portions. yummy sides, clean restaurant and bathrooms, inexpensive. Cons: Over-cooked burgers, lack of identity(Chinesse/American/Mexican/Mediterranean?), competing musics. Overall: Worth the trip. I would eat there again. Just be sure to ask them not o overcook your burger
