Came here for lunch today. Had the grilled octopus. Couldn’t believe how delicious it was! Perfect place for an awesome lunch post major shopping excursion. Not the most obvious location but pleasant ambiance, very nice service and excellent food.

Best Português food in Florida next to the food my Portuguese mother makes. Clean excellent service and highly recommended. Traditional cod fish dishes and octopus. Give it a try and I promise you will be back.

I love this place. A hidden gem near universal studios. The best Portuguese food in Orlando. The staff is always great and the food is always fresh. Had the octopus and it was amazing. My wife had the bacalhau com natas and she loved it. My daughter gets the kids steak and we add an egg and get her the sauce on the side. They also have a house steak that is served on a hot plate with gravy and an egg and it is out of this world. We stop by here every time we are in Orlando. Great deserts also to end your meal.

Don’t let the outside appearance fool you, the inside is like visiting a small café in Portugal. Conveniently located off of international drive in Orlando, this Portuguese restaurant is in the heart of the tourist area. The atmosphere is welcoming, with Portuguese music playing. We were greeted by a friendly woman who sat us at our table. We got the pastais bacalho to start, which were YUMMY. I usually start with soup, but they only offered one soup option(fejiao) — first disappointment. I ordered the beef bistoque(which is equivalent to prego no Prato), and husband got a grilled chicken sandwich. Beef and rice were tasty, but served with a side of previously frozen fries. I’m originally from Massachusetts, where Portuguese restaurants serve fresh cut, circle fries, so this was disappointing. Grilled chicken sandwich was well liked by the hubby, but he too was disappointed by the side of fries. We waited about 35min for our food, which was quite a long time. We were never visited by the wait staff during the wait. My husband had an empty beverage glass for 15min until we finally asked for a refill. We were greeted by a gentleman who appeared to be the owner, which was a nice surprise. He was very attentive and we wished he had been our waiter. Our waitress never asked if we wanted dessert while clearing our plates. Gentleman finally came and asked. I had a queijada and galao. Queijada was best I’ve had in Florida!!! After we finished, we waited another 15min for our check. End result, food was great, service not so much.

Today we went to the restaurant for a lunch. It is not the first time we went to Adega. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. We ordered the Bacalhao na Nata and Bacalhau Gomes de Sá. This place is not a fast food. It is a place to relax and while the food is not ready, taste the excellent pasteis de bacallao. I also would like to mention the service that was noteworthy. We were served by Patricia Alvim. She was very gentle, polite, friendly and efficient. I recommend the restaurant to all my friends. We will definitely return to Adega not only for food but to have a service as good as we had today, by Patricia.

How do I begin? The food is the only thing that earned any stars. My party and I felt like we were held hostage for 4HOURS from the minute we sat down until we begged to pay for our checks. The food was always«almost ready» and we couldn’t do anything about it. No meal should ever take 4 hours. The manager/owner never attempted to apologize for the time the food took to be prepared and we were even told that«Americans don’t appreciate real food» by the server. I have no words for the anxiety this place caused me and the outrageously slow service/food. I will NEVER go back, and the 20+ families I have sent that way will hear that I no longer endorse this establishment. I am embarrassed to have put my friends and family through the pain of 4 hours in that restaurant. This is not how you do business!!! Such a shame, because the food was good.

Their Pasteis de bacalhao were fresh and fried perfectly — the best ones I ever tried in the U.S. We ordered Bacalhao a Gomes Sá and Bacalhao na Nata(sorry, no pictures of those) both were great and the second was our favorite. I ordered Sangria, which was made fresh and was delicious. This is a hidden gem for those looking for authentic Portuguese food or if you simple want to experience the true flavors of the Portuguese cuisine. I definitely recommend and would go back once in Orlando. The only downside here is the location. This place is located inside a run down mall, which is closed during the night– except for this place. At first sight we thought the entire mall was closed and we were about to leave when we saw the open sign. The place was empty on a spring break night, which made me question the validity of other Unilocal reviews and almost go somewhere else. I just stayed because I really wanted to eat Portuguese food that night and I’m glad I did– this place did not let me down. I would recommend owner to move the business to a nicer area, such as Sand Lake Rd — where the nicer restaurants and most tourists usually go. Orlando tourists looking for culinary experiences and foodies would appreciate this great Portuguese food much better than the ones near the run down Brazilian area where they are located.

Take a trip over to Portugal by experiencing great dinning at the Adega Grille! While visiting Orlando my family of 6 adventurous eaters wanted to try something new and exciting, and this place was the chosen destination. Where to start… We were warmly greeted immediately with Olá! The room is set with Portuguese music, the famous Portugal blue tiles, and you get the overall feeling that you are actually in Portugal. Our waitress was very nice, and even played with our children who tried to speak some Portuguese with her. She made the dinning experience superb with her friendliness and food and drink recommendations. We were also warmly greeted by other service attendances who wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. On to the food… OMGosh! First we were given warm bread, as we looked over the menus. Our kids seemed to eat three basket worth. Our children ordered some soda from Portugal named Sumol and they loved it. The wife and I had Vinho Verde wine. We started the night with two appetizers 1. Chourico a Bombeiro: This is a flaming plate of sausage goodness that I could have eaten all night. 2. Pasteis de Bacalhau: Are you kidding me? I had this at another restaurant before and there is no comparison. This was Amazing! Again both of these I could of ate as a meal. They were that good. For the main courses we ordered several plates and shared them as a family: 1: Bife a Portuguesa: I must confess I love eggs and streak in general. But, this was sooooo good. It’s served with a steak cooked to your liking with a fried egg on top, and placed in a brandy beef broth. If I was at my home I probably would have cleaned up every bit of that sauce… In public I try to act civilized. Since we were trying new things my wife ate half my plate. 2. Bacalhau com Natas: This may have been my favorite of the night. This looked like a cheesy plate of heavenly goodness. I love anything that screams cheese and cream sauce, and this fits the bill. Now add perfectly prepared bacalhau with 3 olives finely placed on top and you have a winner. In my opinion this is a must! 3. Bacalhau Na Telha: Bacalhau cooked in clay tile with chourico, onions, and garlic. First off this was presented with style. This was really good, and the sauce it was placed in was excellent. This plate again was right up my alley as far as taste, cooked properly, and wanting to thoroughly clean my plate factor is concerned. 4: Peito de Frango grelhado: I’m not going to lie I didn’t have a chance to try this, before my wife and kids devoured it. The only thing I can post about it is that one of my son’s said«Portuguese food taste like heaven». For dessert all I’ve been hearing about when eating food from Portugal was«you must try«Pasteis de Natas». So we did, and we did not regret this decision. These things are like a cross between a croissant and crème brulee. All I can say is they are fantastic! We bought alot of food, everything was cooked to perfection, and the overall bill was good bang for our $$$$. So if you are looking to experience a great dinner, excellent atmosphere, and great service this is the place to eat!

The Adega Grille is a hidden gem. We found ourselves craving Portuguese food and after consulting Unilocal,we gave it a try. It’s tucked away in an unassuming part of mostly-Brazilian strip mall on International Drive. The décor and setting are quite simple, but upon entering you are greeted warmly by the staff and enveloped in the scents of a real Portuguese kitchen. Our server, Mai, provided useful input and we chose the bolinhas de bacalhau and the garlic shrimp as starters. We also chose a Casal Garcia vinho verde from their small but quality wine list. The codfish balls were perfectly done — crispy on the outside and fluffy and well seasoned within. The shrimp were also a hit and my family soaked up the sauce with lovely dinner rolls. The real reason to recommend Adega is the octopus(polpo a lagareiro). Probably the best octopus we’ve ever eaten, anywhere. Tender without being mushy, superbly seasoned and beautifully presented. Of equal quality was the bacalhau na telha — broiled cod with a light crunchy crust — not too salty and cooked to perfect texture. Also notable were the shrimp dish(head on btw) and the side dishes — black eyed peas, fries, etc. The desserts were also outstanding. The pasteis de nata are worth the trip alone — flakey crust and creamy filling; somehow light and rich at the same time. The flan was superb — eggier than Brazilian pudim. My daughter ordered the third dessert on the menu — a creamy sort of mousse with a crunchy bottom — also delicious. This place is a keeper. We’ll be back with our Brazilian friends and family for sure.

Outstanding food and service. Being Portuguese, I can tell you that this is the real deal. It’s been tough to find decent Portuguese food in Florida and this place hit the spot. Wife and kids loved it as well. Everything was delicious! The octopus and Calde Verde in particular were amazing. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and plan to come back when we come back to Orlando.

Ummmm… I am not a huge fan of Portuguese food but am willing to eat or try anything… so when my boss’s boss, who is from Portugal, asked to meet here, we decided to attend… Overall… The place is pretty dingy… back in a small shopping plaza and not a great feeling area… also, tons of flies flying around our table… Server was pleasant enough, though she mostly spoke directly to the people who could speak to her in Portuguese. Food– the sausage and cod fritters were yummy apps… the cod dinner was so heavy and SO salty(and yes, I know this is how it is prepared… just not my thing)… I didn’t like it but I know my boss’s boss, from the area, thought the food was very good… so please take my review as someone who isn’t a fan of the type of food… as i think it might be good for those wanting this kind of food.

Walked by here by accident when looking for a restroom. Located in a tiny place in a not great looking plaza, this one of my proudest findings as a foodie. The people were fantastic. The waiter was attentive and very eager to help. We ordered pasteis de bacalhau for appetizer. It was very good, perfectly fried and had the right hint of bacalhau so it wouldn’t be overwhelming. Our main dish was the bacalhau na telha. This is where the genius came to surface. Easily the best bacalhau I have had, and the portions were plenty. Came still hot dipped in olive oil. The sides of beans and potatoes were excellent to accompany the bacalhau. For dessert we had the traditional pastel de nata, which was also amazing, firmer and more flavorful than others I tried before. Thus place is a gem that in California I would have easily paid 30 – 40 dollars, for an entrée but was surprised to see it only costing 20. Will come again!

The food was correct, but not outstanding. The«bolinho de bacalhau» was cooked to perfection, not greasy. I ordered«bacalhau assado com batata a murro» which was good, but not excellent. Vinho verde(wine) selection is limited — but this is not their fault, as vinho verde is not easy to find in the US(you can find, but not the premium ones, such as Alvarinho ou Muralhas de Monção). Service was great, but understaffed the day I visited.

It did not live up to the hype and/or expectations. I’ve gone to many Portuguese restaurants over the past 20+ years so part of the low rating reflects the comparisons. Our table had a variety of dishes which I sampled and it just didn’t hit the mark as was echoed by others. The décor and ambiance was really nice. Service was friendly, albeit slow. What kind of irked me is that one waiter was in charge of 15 tables including taking orders, running food, busing/setting tables, etc. — all while the host at the front played on his phone all night and took smoke breaks outside in the alcove. Considering the plethora of other options in Orlando, I just can’t recommend this restaurant as being anywhere in the top 25.
