All Things Sweet by OUR Mission

I had the pleasure of attending a special luncheon to learn about the amazing program that is All Things Sweet. I had no idea they existed and what a great service they offer to the local community.
All Things Sweet is located at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission close to Downtown Orlando. While the area may be offputting to most folks, hopefully their mission will convince the general public what a great thing they are doing for the local community. The program teaches homeless women and men the art and business of baking and cake decorating that way they have the skills for a career in the culinary arts. All desserts are made of the highest quality and freshest ingredients in the hopes of making life sweet again for the homeless in the community.
Desserts are created by the student chefs to be sold to the community. Some examples are cupcakes, brownies, cookies, moon pies and dessert bars. Prices range from 1.50 — 30.00 so definitely affordable.
They currently have a Valentine’s menu which includes:
Sweet Rose Cookies OR Cupcakes for $ 26.82/dz
Sweet Rose Bouquet for $ 40/​dz

We were also able to sample some fresh baked goods by the chefs which easily rival some of the more popular bakeries in town both in taste and presentation. I love that the profits from the goods go back to the community and, at the same time, individuals are learning skills to build a career. Win Win. :)
I will definitely keep this place in mind when I need to order for a special event and also spread the word!

Their mission is to help the homeless and make the best cupcakes on the planet — they do it. They kept the lines moving around the food truck and the flavors all looked awesome. Between the three of us: the salted caramel was the best, although the triple chocolate and Cookies and Cream cupcakes were darn tasty as well. The caramel core in the middle made me drool.
Nice boxes they keep the cupcakes pretty and moist and no matter how much I fidgeted, my cupcake still looked great. I will go out of my way to find this cupcake truck again.

We discovered All Things Sweet at the Tech & Truck event. Wow, what a find! We made one mistake and waited to buy dessert, so by the time we got to the truck they were OUT of the Salt Caramel Cupcakes. Argh. We shall return.
The Chocolate cupcake was perfect. Moist cake. Creamy chocolate and LOTs of it. AND, the filling was thick and creamy and tasty and very chocolate.
My husband shared a taste of his chocolate chip cookie which had bits Heath Bar too. It was perfect — moist and tasty and bursting with flavor.
After we happily stuffed ourselves we learned the wonderful fact that this truck has a mission! It’s the perfect feel good experience.
