Anytime Fitness

This is my home club so I’m a little biased. It’s got most everything you would need to get a decent workout in. If you’re familiar with the setup of Anytime Fitness, then you would know what to expect. It’s small. That would be the only real downfall. I like the fact that the gym is set up that you can come and go as you please. No jumping thru hoops or having to talk to anyone when you come and go. Sounds kinda anti-​social but when you’re in the workout zone you dont necessarily want to hear anyone. The staff could do a little better job with cleaning the equipment. The ellipticals and treadmills do tend to be dirty on the base but hey, who’s really worried about the base? Overall, great little club. I think the same owne has 2 others or so. I’ve been to the other one of University and it’s pretty good as well.

Overall, this is a good gym for the price. ²⁴⁄₇ access can’t be beaten, and there’s a decent amount of equipment here. This particular location also has a fairly large aerobics/​exercise class room that’s a nice touch.
Your membership isn’t paying for frills and extra features. I paid an entire year upfront and they waived the processing fees and club enhancement fee — it came out to just under $ 450 for the entire year.
The only issue here is that, being near UCF, some hours are really jam-​packed with lots of people. Not as bad as, say, UCF’s gym, but still really hard to get a work out in. And this is around 10 PM or so on weeknights.

I’ve gone to several gyms in this area and I have been lifting regularly for over 20 years. I have to say this gym is excellent. I love the no hassle, no nonsense gimmicky or sales pressure. Here is how it works; This is pretty much and independent come and go as YOU please type establishment. This gym is not staffed very often. So you need to call and make an appointment. The joining process takes about 10mins and they give you a key FOB for access. After 30 days you have access to all of the anytime gyms. The prices range between $ 39-​$ 49 per month and that gives you 24 hour access to the gym. The gyms are small relative to other establishments but the crowds are not that big given that the gym is open ²⁴⁄₇ and they have every piece of equipment you really need. Free weights up to 100lbs, bench press, squat racks, power stations, and cable pulley’s besides machines. There is a lot of gym that’s well laid out in the shop.

I tried a seven day trial before deciding I didn’t want a membership. It seemed like a pain in the ass just to request a trial. Meathead Barry was not very welcoming nor does he have any interpersonal skills. You would think that working at a gym someone would have high energy and seem motivated, neither of these pertain to Meathead Barry. He didn’t shake my hand or introduce himself. He only gave me a hard time for getting a seven day trial. I asked what the difference was between this gym and Snap Fitness, he couldn’t even answer that question. Every day after that, I would come in and all he would do is give me the stink eye. On the other hand, the gym is nice but a bit small. The equipment is up to date and enough to get a full workout.
