(40⁄100) I had a great lunch at Arepera La Nueva this week. My boss and I went over during a break from visiting a nearby agency. I experienced friendly, quick service. I can’t find a current menu to know exactly what I ordered, so I’ll explain it. My arepa was stuffed with shrimp, octopus, guyana cheese, onions, and maybe tomatoes. It was delicious. I initially tried to order shrimp, chicken, and cheese-but was told I could only order shrimp, if I ordered the one I just explained. I like trying new things, so I did just that. It was delicious. Delicious. There was a garlic sauce on the table, which added to the magic. Funny story– I love spicy food and want hot sauce for everything. I don’t speak Spanish. My lovely boss who ordered for me forgot to ask for hot sauce. But, I’m a big girl so I went to ask for my own salsa picante… I got shy, so I asked in English. When the girl kind of understood me and asked«salsa?», I said yes. When she asked me which color,(because I do know colors) I told her rojo… Well, I should have repeated the«picante» part because I ended up with mayo ketchup. Lol. Your Spanish lesson for today is that«salsa» only means«sauce». It is essential to say«picante» when asking for hot sauce. This comical scenario only made my lunch hour more fun. I definitely want to go back to this spot next time I’m on that side of town.

4 stars because they didn’t have to whole menu available at dinner time and being my first time I would have chosen something different if available… still, loved what I had, the pabellón…the meat was so flavorful! Very filling though, so beware…

The most authentic Venezuelan arepas that I have ever taste. If you wanna go traditional go with«Arepa con todo» or «Reina pepiada» You won’t see it in the menu but they serve it. Tequeños are like Venezuelan cheese sticks and they always serve it fresh. You won’t be disappointed!

I came here because everyone is saying this is the best arepa with authentic ingredients and it lives up to its reputation. My favorite is the chicken arepa with garlic sauce. The cheese is truly unique, chicken is well seasoned, and the garlic sauce compliments it perfectly. The quick service and cleanliness adds to its appeal.

Arepas were really good. They come with potatoes in them as well as whatever else you order. Also, when I went in, they had lively music playing, which really set the scene. Oh, and it came out fast! Like instantly fast. Great if you’re in a rush.

Can’t speak about any other dish because all I order are the arepas. I love them… And they love me too, so I keep coming back to fill my belly with those little mother effers. I can’t give it 5 stars because I haven’t ordered anything else lol but the place is clean, the arepas are really good and the price isn’t too bad. The service is cool, never had a problem so a def two thumbs up from me! Nom Nom Nom Nom!

This place is packed after hours so I decided to try the food. Overall good food and everyone speaks Spanish. Cashier didn’t speak English but he understood I wanted sauces. Greasy food but fast with lots of sauce options.

Great arepas every time, this place has one of the best arepas in town. Spanish is the main language spoken but that isn’t a problem for me, having been raised in Florida. The arepas are about $ 5.50 each and they come stuffed. You can even get the combinacion and have 3 meats and a cheese. One of my favorites are their 4 house made sauces! And their restaurant has a pretty nice ambiance, well lit, with festive music playing. Many locals come here and they are open till late 3:30 am. Great place for late night munchies!

The first time I came here, I ordered a beef arepa with green garlic sauce and was very overwhelmed by the garlic. My boyfriend didn’t like it either, so I stayed away. I tried it again last weekend and fell in love. Arepas are very filling and all you need is one. I prefer shredded meat(beef) and the beef is delicious. I order mine with white cheese on top and white garlic sauce on the side. It delicious! I ordered an arepa one night, ate it before I got to my car, and ordered two more(I’m starting to sound like an addict now)! Unfortunately, they messed up my order and gave me a shrimp arepa when I ordered beef. What if I had an allergy to shellfish? I would’ve been super pissed. I ate it anyway. This is a great late night spot. Check it out!

Damn. This place is amazing! I will say this – stick to the arepas. Everything else is great, for sure, but the arepas… God damn!

The is a small little Colombian café with some great comfort food. My favorite dish is the filled arepas with chicken and white cheese. Make sure to ask for all four of their sauces. They give every bite a different taste you can’t go wrong with – but the«garlic-ajo» is my favorite. *Warning* The spicy sauce is super spicy!

Definitely check this place out! The arepas are killer! The outside is crispy, the inside is juicy, and the cheese adds another boost of flavor. The only critique I have is that I didn’t care for the verde sauce. Everything else was fantastic though and the service was fast!

Midnight had the munchies… rolled up, greeted by friendly staff and obviously it was a language barrier because I ordered 2 arepas, one with pork and cheese and the other with chicken salad and cheese. I recieved one combination of the two. I didn’t think this combination would of worked but it actually tasted very good. The chicken salad was very good, along with the pork. I never had a arepas before so I cant speak on the authenticity but the flavor was plentiful. Because I’m a hearty eater, I thought getting one wouldn’t fill me, but I was wrong. It was $ 6, by far, one of the best cheapest meals I ever had.

Damn this place is good! Amazing Arepas but just a note speaking Spanish is would really come in handy unless you’re good at finger pointing at the menu.

There are plenty of reviews, but simply put, this is a Venezuelan style arepa shop with a menu of other foods(that you should try too!). Most I know come here just for the stuffed arepa. What is that exactly you ask? It’s a corn flour bread slit open like a pita and then stuffed with their offerings. The arepa itself has a distinct flavor too, but that is in part because arepas are a daily staple to countries like Venezuela and Colombia. So why should you go here? Well, if you’re looking to try something new, this is something to try. It is not spicy(I hate spicy food, much of south american food isn’t spicy), its simple, and has enough variety/stuffing options for your taste buds to experience. Also, do try the sauces you can put in your stuffed arepa!
