Bright House Networks

I am currently still on hold with these people and it has been four hours of being on hold and I have spoken to about 7 different people this evening. My internet was shut off today because the person who is supposed to live in my apartment after me called and made an account for herself and decided to have them shut my internet off a week before I move without my knowledge. Why it has taken four hours to have this issue resolved is beyond me. I was forced to use bright house because it’s the only internet service provider where I live. I couldn’t stand them when I was forced to use them for my last apartment and after this I would almost rather go and sit and use the wifi at a McDonald’s than to pay for this horse dung! If I could give them 0 stars I would!

The worst internet provider I ever had, plus the worst experience I have ever had with any company as far as customer service was concerned.
I would give them 0 if I could.
First of all, the internet was very slow, but my price during my two years of use the same bad internet service was going up from $ 38 to $ 54.
When I had to move away, I terminated my service. The person on the phone instructed me that their modem will be retrieved from my house by their representative, and the rest of my balance will be returned me by check. However, he did not mentioned anything about the additional fee, if they will not get the modem back. Nobody showed up on the scheduled date… I could not longer wait for them because I had to move out of state. Three weeks later a representatives from a different company called me to return them rented Bright House equipment. When I called Bright house, they told me that they will charge me $ 70.00 fee for not returned modem. And they cannot take the modem from my apartment without my presence, because I have to sign a return check (which is impossible, since I’m no longer in the state).
I’m very disappointed with this company

I have been a Brighthouse customer for over 20 years and never had a problem with their service. I was given prompt and courteous service on all levels so it was very disturbing to me that when I called to reduce my bill I was told that since I would no longer be in a bundle that I would have to pay 96.00 a month for Internet service. When I told both the customer service rep and a supervisor that a co worker of mine just did the same thing and was offered $ 40/​month for 12 months because they valued her business I was essentially told too bad. I’ve been paying over $ 150/​month since I can remember so where is the value of my business? Shame on them for not wanting to keep a loyal customer just because I didn’t want all their services.

Internet service was just OK, paid for 16mb, I barely got between 13.5mb and 14mb. The modem they provided has Wi-​Fi locked out and if you want them to un-​lock it, you have to pay them a monthly fee to have them access the modem remotely to un-​lock wi-​fi!!! That is just insane!!! We actually had to hook up a wireless router to their modem for wi-​fi access at home. The other issue was their cable TV service and their DVR Boxes. These cable boxes are super slow and outdated, the menus are not very user friendly and the DVR software is very clumsy and can never organize recordings by priority as well as other services. Additionally the cable box would randomly shut off and reboot/​update at any given moment. The worst issue for us was the random lag times issues while using the cable box, there were times when we had a 10 – 15 seconds of wait time for every button press on the remote for anything between changing channels to FFF and Play, very annoying! We just finally got U-​verse Gigabit service installed and could not be happier, it cost less than BrightHouse and we get a faster internet connection and better, faster, more responsive cable boxes. Brighthouse needs to either lower their prices or simply re-​vamp their whole system infrastructure if they want to keep up with the competition. My recommendation for anyone looking for home services is to look elsewhere other than Brighthouse, I wish I could only give it ¹⁄₁₆ of a star!

They lie to you. they send you over mail a deal for $ 35 dollars 75 lightning internet, when you call they say oh yes no problem no problem you will pay that amount only .28 cents more for taxes and 4 dollars more for router. and, no installation fees for 12 months. I ask the guy are you sure? no more hidden charges… Guy: No! I promise no more hidden charges. ME: ok, not bad. fine go ahead make the appointment.. to then someone call me later that night and tell me that there was a installation fee for 49.95 and the only way they could wave that fee, it was if I was to take a higher plan for 54 dollars a month what a rip off. I hate bright house. Why cant they speak the true… $%#@&^%!‘ssssss

They suck so badly it’s absurd. Had an appt with them Monday to fix crappy internet service. Nobody showed up. Guy randomly calls today saying he’s scheduled for today so I tell him to come in. He looks at modem and says it should be closer to where I use the Internet the most. It’s 15 feet away from where I use my computer and watch Netflix. His solution was bring it closer. This company is a joke. I have a whole list of other complaints but I think you get the picture.

If I could give them a lower rating I would. I have been jumping through hoops to get my service that I was initially told i was going to have. To my suppress the only thing that they are doing is raising my bill for unknown reasons. Seriously I hate this company, and if I didn’t have to use them I wouldn’t. I don’t understand how you can treat you customers so poorly.

I would give no stars if I could ! Just moved to lakeland and I can’t believe this is the only provider ! They have a monopoly and I think if people get together and do a class action against them or call the attorney general and also if we all call other companies and they might run lines if there are enough customers.

Thanks for shutting everything off last night… by mistake! And than acting like nothing!
What the hell is going on with Brighthouse lately

This was the worst service I had ever had. Had it installed. It was working a couple hours and died. They claimed a storm three days later my appointment for them to fix It and he says he doesn’t need to come inside or change boxes like I was told on from them. Box doesn’t work and I have to wait another couple days to fix. Not happening. I cancelled service. Bought an antenna and watch basic TV. Don’t need to throw my money away on that kind of service.

My phone, net, and cable TV disappeared after a storm more than 24 hours ago. They promised a service technician would come between 6 – 8 PM last night. At 8:30 no tech. I called Brighthouse and was told that they work late and would still come by. At 9:30 I called them again. THIS TIME their auto system said my appointment was now 24 hours later. NO ONE FROM THE COMPANY EVER CALLED TO ASK IF THAT WAS ACCEPTABLE. The next day, today, I spoke to a rep who promised the tech would be here between 6 – 8 tonight. So far, at 8:10, no tech, no call from a tech. The reps keep saying they are sending messages to the tech regarding the service call. Well, maybe the tech has his gear turned off. Tech showed up 8:20. Repaired all that needed repair. Good work but it shouldn’t have been such an ordeal.

Terrible service! I just had service installed and live in Orlando Fl and dealt with Killy Candelaria (area rep) and he pulled a bait and switch on me. Basically I only received half of what ordered for the «advertised» price and when they sent someone out to fix it my bill doubled. Not to mention Killy Candelaria would not take my phone calls and even hung up on me. Do not use brighthouse and do not call Killy Candelaria he is s thief!!!

We lovingly call them BH… butt heads. We switched from Direct TV to BH due to area coverage. From day 1, my landlord told me don’t use them and we opted not to listen. The installer was rude and could not speak good English (Russian I think) and then we had to call them back but they could not come out for another week. Their automated phone system sucks too. You must YELL at it for it to respond. For basic cable and basic internet is about 139 a month with one TV with a DVR. Take your chances and go with Direct TV.

Bright House is great! I know people complain about pricing but they are trying to compete with streaming services so they have to make money. Customer service is awesome; especially communicating and getting help using social media. The only complaint I have is they don’t have «my perfect bundle», which would be Premier TV, and Lightening Internet @ 75 mbps. The digital adapter should be free but I’m being charged $ 2. I think I will Tweet them my idea!

I can’t believe bright house has monopolized Orlando Florida. They have figured out a way to make it impossible for dish network satellite network another dish companies to not allow them to put tripods on apartments.

I had a great experience today with Bright House. I had a cable man come to install my cable box and internet. I am new to Bright House, I had Dish before.
When he entered, he covered his shoes with shoe coverings because he saw my apartment is clean and I wear no shoes on my carpet. I was so relieved to see that.
Then he installed everything so fast and neat. He even helped me to set up my router and internet password! That made me want to give him 10 stars if i could. He was so polite and friendly, plus everything works absolutely fine. Btw, his name was Carlos.

Worst ever service. Slow as molasses, constant outages, terrible customer service. Rude installers, junk equipment and TOTAL MISREPRESENTATION OF INTERNET SPEEDS. You pay for high speed and get continental drift speeds… really.
To make matters worse — my card expired and they did NOT notify me by voicemail or email — despite insisting they did. I have been a customer for 5 years with no late or missed payments until this. I should have known I was paying with a card and that it expired, but I should also have been notified. As a result they cut my service in the middle of a business week.
Overall it’s a good thing since Brighthouse has been the worst ever service provider I have ever had to deal with — it amazes me they are in business.
I am already signed up with ATT U-​verse.
Stay away from Brighthouse and avoid stress.

The signal is crap, its super expensive and the internet is slow. I really wish I had other options in my area.

Update: Speed has consistently dropped to 5 – 6 Mbps down after they hiked my rates, measured randomly at peak and non-​peak times throughout the day.
If there is a horrible, soulless company in Orlando, its name is Bright House.

Got a new wifi installed by contractor named Daryl for Brighthouse. Showed up on time, did a pro job, made sure everything was compatible and functioning properly. I got everything encrypted and secure now. Im stoked on the service I got today.
