Clarion Inn & Suites

The rooms were nice for the price, but they were pretty stuffy, our AC didn’t work very well. But the reason I’m only giving one star is because they failed to inform us when we booked our stay that a huge birthday party with loud music would going on until 11 pm… the music was so loud I could hear it in my room and it made it impossible to relax, let alone sleep. I went to the front desk but they wouldn’t do anything about the noise or anything. When you pay for a decent hotel you expect to be able to relax and get a good nights sleep… I mean that’s sort of the point of a hotel. needless to say I will not be back. The whole situation just really pissed me off, mostly because the staff wouldn’t even make them turn the music down. Very unprofessional. But if that wouldn’t bother you, then by all means stay here, it is conveniently located by Universal Studios. But I would strongly recommend that you stay in one of the many hotels that are right by this one, you’ll probably have a better experience.

Crazy nice rooms! It is in the process of being renovated, but the finished rooms are top notch! The only down side are the trucks constantly parked for the construction and the proximity to the highway! But definitely a great hotel for the price÷!

Clean and recently renovated hotel. The staff is welcoming and helpful. I’ve arrived at 1 am and was promptly checked in by lovely gentleman. He also gave me information on the park shuttle and explained how to get to my room.
Room is amazing. New furniture, nice design. Bathroom was clean and all supplies like shampoo was there. Rooms have hairdryer (decent ones), iron and board, safe box, TV, alarm clock. There were more than enough towels, even the pool ones.
The shuttle service is very convenient. Even though the hotel located like 10 min walk away from the Universal Studio, the shuttle comes in handy. The shuttle bus is modern and drivers are punctual. The schedule is also convenient. The earliest shuttle depart at 8 – 20 am so you can arrive to the park before the major crowds.
There is also café and Indian restaurant at the hotel. The café has decent prices like $ 4 for panini sandwich. The café staff is very neat and friendly.
I didn’t have a chance to test the pool but it was very inviting. Renovated ares with multiple sun beds and decent sized pool.
All in all it is a wonderful place. I highly recomend to choose it above the chain ones. The chain hotels we stopped before are much older and cost much higher.

I can’t really complain since it’s one of the cheaper hotels in the area, and the rooms and amenities are good. However most of my issues are with the actual room (2204). We had an ant infestation. They were super tiny ants you can barely see but you can definitely feel when they crawl on your skin. They were all over the bathroom and floor. My sheets/​blankets had stains, some of them large and it was very gross. :/​There is very little sound-​proofing so when the caretakers go by in the morning to clean rooms it sounds like an earthquake… there were also two stray cats on the premises and by their obnoxious noises in the middle of the night they either REALLY liked each other or REALLY hated each other. Ear plugs are a must.
However the internet is fast, the pool is nice as well. Also the service was outstanding, one woman in particular who worked the front desk who was unfailingly friendly.
In short it gets the job done for a couple days trip to the resorts in the area.

This is a great bargain. It might look a little shady from the outside, but the inside lobby is great and the rooms are even better! It’s exactly a 17 min walk from your room to the entrance to universal. You can also take a free shuttle to and from Universal, but you are bound by the 3 pickup and 3 drop off times. You can even see the Universal Fireworks from the front lobby. I would stay here again without a second guess, it’s perfect in terms of price, location and cleanliness.

We stayed here for 4 nights when we were in town to go to Universal Studios and this place was perfect for that! It’s directly across from the park entrance and is totally walkable. If you’re not up for walking the hotel provides a free shuttle to/​from at multiple times throughout the day. The room itself was clean and updated. The pool area looked super nice but we didn’t swim or use the hot tub during this stay. Some nights were slightly noisy but we played a white noise app from our phone and couldn’t hear a thing afterward. Last year we had a bad experience at a different hotel in Orlando and were so happy that this one was nothing like that. There’s a little café where you can grab a quick breakfast or a bottle of water before you head to the parks and the bartender and front desk staff were super friendly. We were also happy to have the free wifi. We never tried the attached restaurant, so can’t say either way how that is. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Wow, I agree with the other reviews — don’t judge this hotel by its outside appearance. We booked a room for 1 night due to its Unilocal reviews and cheap rates (69/​night). When we pulled up I started thinking I had made a mistake but once I stepped inside it all changed! Lobby is super swanky and has an Indian restaurant and café inside. The room was really nice we were so impressed. Bathroom was huge. Sheets were clean; everything was clean. Only reason why it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that the fan would reset after an hour to its baseline temp and it wasn’t the quietest stay but not a big deal. Oh also the sheets are kinda rough and not soft but who cares, it’s so cheap and the quality of the room is worth it!

This is not the prettiest hotel on the outside, pretty bland and cheap-​looking. but you probably weren’t expecting all that much curb appeal based on the nightly rate anyway. The lobby is much like the curb appeal, lackluster. but the staff is very pleasant and efficient, so you won’t be in there long.
The pool area is quite nice and well-​sized, with new furniture, and music playing. There were a decent amount of people enjoying the pool while soaking up the sun.
The hotel looks more like a motel, with multiple buildings, walk-​ups, and all outside-​entry rooms. Upon entering your room is when you say «wow. this is really nice; looks just like the room photo online».
Everything in the rooms is new, contemporary, stylish, and clean. From the paint, to the drapery, carpet, tile, furniture, bedding, lighting and accessories. everything is done well to give the space an upscale look and feel.
The rooms include a small closet with safe, a mini-​fridge, and a blow dryer. The hotel, surprisingly has a restaurant that serves Indian food with an Asian twist; I did not try it on this trip but was told it’s award-​winning.
The only difficult here can be parking. They ran out of parking spots since they were booked up, but the security guy helped people by advising them where they could park, so it wasn’t an issue.
Fantastic for the price. The room, amenities, and service exceeded expectations, and I will remember it for future visits to the area.
This is a great hotel to stay at if you plan to go to Universal, the Fun Spot, or the Outlets, because it’s just a few minutes away. There are a lot of things to do in this area, and restaurants surrounding. Friday’s is also in walking distance.

This place has just been remodeled, In fact, it’s still being renovated, but it’s almost done. The rooms are great with modern fixtures, and flat screens.
The location is very near Universal, so it’s great for that. The pool area is nice, but it needs more shade. The tiki bar guy plays music way too loud, so you can’t relax. There’s no one even using it, but the music blares. We should have told him to shut it down.
Otherwise, this a great deal of a place. They don’t have breakfst, but there’s a small snack bar, and they do have a Thai/​Chinese restaurant, which we did not sample. They are building a luxurious new lobby.
I’m sure the rates will rise when it’s all done. But for $ 66/​night, this was bargain and I would definitely return.
