Looks like I waited too long to try this place — they apparently recenty changed owners and the new menu is MUCH smaller. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the burger, which were both fine. But my wife was looking forward to the ribs, which are no longer available, along with most of what they offered before. The menu now is literally one page, most of which is taken up by a description of their burger. Sorry I didn’t get here before…

Came in for lunch yesterday and didn’t know what to expect. The place itself is a decent size and has plenty of TVS to watch any sport you want. I don’t like eating at places I have never been to but I ordered a burger and it was delicious. The bread was awesome and they served me steak fries. The staff was friendly and prices were great! I had a burger, 4 bud lights and a fireball shot for under $ 30. Will come back if I’m around the area and suggest anyone who hasn’t been to give it a try!

Don’t waste your time or $, one of those places where you know will be closing within the next 6 months. Server was friendly and attentive but he did advise us the restaurant had no fish or chicken, NOFISH??? In an English pub???, not waiters fault at all but doesn’t look good for ownership. Will not be returning and still looking for a good reputable pub to go to.

Had a really friendly waitress(was it Tara?) from Wisconsin who waited on me as I watched a group stage match of the World Cup. Had a great fish and chips lunch for $ 9 and had any number of flatscreens I could have chosen from to watch the game. If I’m in the area and I want to watch soccer, this is an easy pick.

My girlfriend and I are always looking for that cool bar in our area to go to. Well, Cricketers truly matches many of the characteristics we are searching for. Cheap drinks, fast service and decent food are just a few. The only drawback that we see is that they focus on soccer games which brings in soccer freaks. You know what I mean… when it’s quiet and all of a sudden the whole bar erupts in blood curdling screams of passion and disgust and it scares you enough to spit out your beer. She and I are not huge sports fans but I guess when you go to a hole in the wall or sports bar you are entering the sports lion’s den eh? The menu has changed recently after im assuming the hiring of a new«chef» and the items we have had are tasty. If you live in the Orlando /Dr. Phillips area and are looking for a bar-bar, give this place a try.

Just drank there(twice) this week and really liked the vibe. Way more authentic and laid back than some of the other places in that area. Beer list was solid and they had a nice craft selection, too. I got the Ginnis & Inn last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Did a dark«smashed» blueberry beer from a Maine brewery the first time I was there and also was impressed. Bartenders were super nice, talkative– social. Crowd was«mixed» — but that’s Orlando. Definitely felt like a locals place and not a tourist destination, though– which was a refreshing change. Also super convenient to many of the hotels in the area, including the Orange County Convention Center. Would definitely recommend as a good«last pint of the evening» destination!

We ate there for the first and last time Friday night. When we walked in was told that the kitchen was backed up and will take an hour to get our food. Then told that they were out of half of the stuff on the menu. if I had not already purchased a Groupon we would of split… and to top it off the food was so so.

We sat down and the waitress didn’t come up to us right away. Also, the menu was not on their table we had to look at their online menu on our smart phone. When they finally gave us the menu we knew what we wanted to order already. My fiancé ordered the Steak and Guinness and they had run out. Our food took forever to be served. Maybe this place is only good for a great Guinness beer which we did enjoy. We probably won’t be going back there.

Authentic English food and great English beers. Full English Breakfasts are sublime. We always stop in after our 3-hour flight from up North… and when Jenny is doing her cooking magic, it just doesn’t get much better.

Friendly and cozy English Pub. Impressed by the hand pumped beer. A little pricy, but everything in that area is.

I was a little disappointed. I have been to the location back at Fesival Bay and the atmosphere was better and they had better stuff on their menu. There is pretty much nothing on the menu vegetarian friendly, and the delicious curry dish they had on the menu at the old location isn’t there anymore. The service was fine; not as good as a restaurant but better than most bars. I got fish and chips, and their portion is huge for what you pay for(two big pieces of fish and a generous serving of steak fries). I didn’t care for their onion rings, and my wife was really unhappy with her quesedilla, citing that it was very greasy. Also, I ordered a beer called Shipyard Pugsley which was described on the menu as «fruity and very drinkable» but when I drank it I nearly gagged. It tasted like rancid cough syrup. That’s not really Cricketer’s fault, it was just really nasty beer. It was really cold in there too. Not likely to go back.

I’ve only recently discovered Dr Phillips. I’ve always known it was there but I never really explored. What I discovered was a lot of restaurants out of my price range and Cricketers. We walked through two shopping plazas before we settled on this place and it was a great choice. Our waitress looked a bit like Zooey Deschannel(and I’ll refer to her as such). My friend and I split wings as an appetizer and sampled a couple beers. I wish I could remember what we settled on. I got the chicken avocado sandwich. I liked it. We really liked Zooey. But went she took the rest of my sandwich back to box it, she did not include the fries. I was little perturbed. I’ll remember to ask for them next time. How strange is that? I think I put this in my «Tip» but for those Friends fans out there, they have Boddington’s! High Five!

This is the third location for this long-time favorite, and the first time they haven’t been in a dying mall. Although the space is fairly new, the décor already looks a hundred year old, complete with dust and cobwebs. But for an English pub I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. The food and drink are quite authentic, and in fact the fish and chips are better than any I’ve ever gotten in London. A good choice for lunch, or for hanging out and doing those things one does in a pub.

Good little English pub This is the type of place that could easily become your ‘home bar’ if you are looking for one. Is fairly small, doesn’t get packed too often, plenty of TVs, the staff is extremely friendly, and they have good deals on food and beer. The bangers and mash is good, as are the vegetables that come with it. Aside from some traditional English fare they have burgers, mozz sticks, potato skins, etc. They also open up super early for different football(soccer) and cricket matches sometimes. BESTBANGFORYOURBUCK: $ 2 Jäger Shots, $ 4 Jäger Bombs(Used to be all day everyday but I think they switched it to 11PM-Close) FUNFACT: They participate in UPromise which is a program setup by Sallie Mae to help save for college(you can use the cash back for anything though). If you haven’t heard about it, look into it, you won’t be disappointed, I promise.

Love the beer selection. The fish and chips have been very good the three times I have tried them now at their current location. Did I mention the beer? Not a huge selection — but its all about the quality you have to choose from — like the hand drawn Fullers ESB and London Pride.

Oh… I hate to do this. I was *so* excited to be able to write a great review for this place after it reopened last year but not even a year on, and I’m sad to say, I’m updating my review and worse– changing my rating from a 5 to a 2! What Happened? I came here for lunch with my husband, the avid football(soccer) fan and my mother in law, who is visiting. She had such a nice time last time we brought her that we wanted to go back while the footie was on, for the atmosphere. Our waitress Jennifer was pleasant enough, but wow was she useless. I ordered the pub burger, medium, with pepper jack(since the menu offers three kinds of cheese: Swiss, cheddar, or pepper jack). She scrunched up her nose like this confused her but didn’t write anything down so I thought she was just trying to remember it. She came back a few minutes later and told me there was no pepper jack, like I had ordered something unusual and off-menu. Cheddar is fine, thanks. The burger came out over-done. It wasn’t even medium, it was well done bordering on over cooked. She never took our menus from us and we had to ask for silverware and napkins. She wasn’t very prompt with refills and never came to check on us after we had our food. The bar area was busy with the football watchers but the dining area wasn’t too bad, she was however, all on her own. Part of the booth I was sitting at was having an issue with the wall board coming away from the trim and things looked shabby, although clean, like money isn’t being reinvested for upkeep. I noticed that some items have been removed from the menu and the prices have been hiked up on other things since my last visit a few months back. This is disappointing to see, especially since we used to come a lot during football season, which is just starting up again. We sat with dirty plates in front of us for almost 15 minutes and then when she cleared them, brought the check back right away. There was still 30 minutes left in the game at this point but I felt that she was trying to rush us out the door. She did offer us to-go cups, but again, we were still sitting watching the match. It was a poor business decision to cash us out before the end of the game because my husband said he would have ordered a beer except it was too much work to track her down. There was also some issue a few tables away from us involving a meal and the chef in the kitchen which ended with her walking back into the kitchen and throwing up her hands in frustration. I have no idea whether we caught this place on a bad day or what, but it felt like the wheels were starting to come off the trolly and I’m worried about quality going down while price is going up. I hope that this was a once-of and that I can amend me review to say things at the Cricketer’s are back to great again soon.

I was pleased to see Cricketer’s Arms relocate from Festival Bay to Restaurant Row earlier this year. After the departure of Club House a year or two ago, Restaurant Row has been lacking a good public house. As a pub, Cricketer’s Arms succeeds on many levels. It has a great old world ambiance and a clientele that clearly is from the old world. I visited during Euro 2012 and I am fairly sure that there was not a better place in Central Florida to learn about soccer than from the crowd at Cricketer’s Arms. Our server was friendly and attentive. We did not have to wait for our order to be taken, as Alex F. reported he did in February. Orders were taken, drinks provided and refilled and food delivered in a very reasonable amount of time. Where Cricketer’s falls down is in the kitchen. I understand that pub food is neither fine dining nor particularly healthy cuisine. The heaviness of menu is to be expected. Nevertheless, there is a right way and a wrong way and I am not convinced that Cricketer’s has found the right path yet. My companion ordered a burger and fries. The burger was covered with cheddar cheese and topped with English bacon and mushrooms. I generally find that the quality of a burger is inversely proportional to the volume of other flavors heaped atop it. The burger served at Cricketer’s seems to prove that theory. My companion stopped eating half way through the burger and told me that he could not eat any more. When I asked why, he told me that the meat was«tasteless.» Indeed, he wanted to bring his remaining fries(quite good) home in a take-away bag but that the burger could stay behind. While I do not eat red meat, I suspect the problem was in the preparation of the burger as it appeared to have been cooked well beyond medium-well and seemed very dry. I ordered fish and chips. Again, the fries were very good but the fish was very greasy. Fried fish, at least in my opinion, should be crisp on the outside but not greasy on the inside. I know this is possible because my English mother prepared it that way very often while I was growing up and we often visited small restaurants in 1970’s New England where the preparation was similar. Based on recent experience, I wonder whether the collective order of American fry cooks has forgotten how to deep fry a piece of fish. The fish was tasty but just too heavy for my middle-aged constitution. We will likely try Cricketer’s again when a major soccer tourney is not ongoing. Perhaps with a less frenetic pace, the kitchen will prove our first visit to be an aberration.

My friends and I happened to stumble into Cricketers last week while on vacation in Orlando. And while it did fill the four of us ravenous girls when we were having more trouble than usual picking a place to eat… I wasn’t impressed with much about this place. Don’t get me wrong. Our experience here was by no means awful. But with so many restaurants in the area, I can’t help but assume this must be a fantastic bar because it isn’t much of a restaurant at all. Our server was friendly and for the most part, attentive. But after being told to seat ourselves, it took at least 15 minutes for her to come to get our drink order… Which was about 16 minutes longer than we were hoping since we were incredibly hungry when we walked in the door. That being said once she took our order, she had a plate of «chips» on our table within ten minutes, with our entrees not too far behind. I wasn’t thrilled with my fish and chips since I realized halfway through the meal that I was munching down the mediocre fries with more excitement than the main part of my $ 14.95 meal. While my fellow diners felt mostly the same as me, one who ordered the cheeseburger seemed pretty content. As for a bar, if you’re looking for a place to watch European football games, I’m sure Cricketers would be much more exciting than an overpriced chain restaurant in Orlando’s many downtown districts. But as for a place to go to have a night on the town, I wouldn’t recommend it. Our venture to Cricketers was on a Saturday night and by the time we left at 10, it still didn’t seen like it’d be a happening place. With tons of places for great meals and fantastic fun in Orlando, I know I wont be heading back to Cricketers anytime soon.

A new location for this English Pub in the Dr. Phillips area. Cricketer’s fills a gap that has been outstanding in this center of dining in Orlando. This deceptive large space is lLong and narrow. They have added some old world touches, like dark wood and leather. to give it a pub feel. Limited bar seating maybe 20 that is made up by a large number of booths and tables. A few large TV’s are present for sports with soccer always on one. Visited on a sat afternoon and it was a lively crowd. Fun for groups or just a meeting spot. They have a number of options for beer and liquor, but the hand drawn bitters and beers are the real highlight. I sampled the bitters that are medium amber colored with a nice bite with a creamy feeling on the finish. Another good choice is the freshly tapped Bombardier which is a darker amber almost mahogany that has a nice body bitter aftertaste. My meal consisted of the Pub burger(large and flavorful) and tasty steak fries.
