Mixed feelings about this place. There was no sense of urgency or much personality at the hostess station. Nice atmosphere in the dining room. The edamame with Hawaiian salt, bonito, garlic, and shallots was a great idea but seemed to missing the salt or it sat too long and the salt melted. My husband ordered the snapper special which was amazing. Perfectly seared, superb balance of flavors. I ordered the cioppino which was recommended by the server. I like spicy, but the sauce was so spicy that it overpowered the fish. The lobster tail on top however was perfectly cooked. It was one of the more expensive yet less memorable cioppinos I’ve had. The service was by no means terrible, but at that price point and with a sophisticated menu, I expect a server who has specific knowledge and opinions of the menu. He also did not try to «sell» anything and didn’t check on us in a timely manner. I feel many servers these days could be replaced by iPads like at the airport. He simply took my order and had brief answers to my questions as if he really didn’t know the menu at all. No management presence on the floor at all. Very very good for a hotel restaurant but to me service makes a huge difference and if we weren’t staying at the hotel I’m not sure if go out of my way to return.

On February 17, 2016 I made a 7:45pm reservation for 6 people. We arrived ten minutes early for check-in. The Hostess informed me they would notify and seat us when our table was ready. I waited until 8:10pm, before approached a different Hostess, she informed that they were over –booked and waiting for a 20 person party to leave. I was embarrassed, and angry that the staff and management handled my reservation so inattentive. I would have appreciated some notification of their service status and at least a round of complimentary drinks for the inconvenience. Disappointed and hungry, we left before available seating could be obtained. I suggest to anyone making reservations, make a second reservation and call ahead.

Friendly and helpful service. Started with Mexican sushi roll and had chicken and kale salad for main courses. Salad and chicken were good but roll was a total failure. Rolls are to be served chill but the roll had super warm rice and flavor was blend.

F*** this place they are not reliable we went for dinner and they were shut down for a private event. We have been walking all day long and we get home and then walk around the entire resort trying to find a place to eat and we get here and they are closed for private event. I will spend my money else where thanks for wasting my time.

Service was terrible. We saw our server once when she took our order. The«busser» took way more care of us and is getting paid less. He should be getting her tip. Fish quality was good but not worth the price at all which was pretty disappointing for the dollar amount. The manager was very nice and welcoming though and had also came over to our table more than the server had.

Excellent food… it tasted and felt like 5 star dining. Granted I was here for magical dining month($ 33) for 3 courses, so my bill was significantly less. It was more than worth the $ 33…the crab cake… cippino…and crème brûlée were all fantastic. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is inside the Hotel, which we chose from Hotwire, 4⁄5 stars. We didn’t know a thing about it, but we were very surprised. Mind blown. 5⁄5 Stars for the food and service. We will come here even if we don’t stay in the hotel!

We ate at Blu for my husbands birthday. They do not disappoint. We ate off the Magical Dining menu. I had the crab cake appetizers which is one of the best I have ever had. Main course was the Cioppino which was a seafood medley in this spicy tomato broth that you dipped your bead in. I was in heaven. For dessert we had the Chocolate Grand Manier bomb. To add to the experience, our server Kate was on point and very knowledgable. Thanks for a great night!!!

I have eaten a Deep Blu twice, and each time I’ve had a phenomenal experience. I am originally from Coastal Georgia, and I’m a stickler when it comes to fresh/delicious seafood– this place will not disappoint! FYI: You must try their crabcakes. They are definitely more crab than cake!

Outstanding experience. A hidden gem in Orlando. The seafood Cioppinni was DELICIOUS! The bread melted in your mouth. They had delicious crabcakes! Truffle coated asparagus, and great friendly, fast service. I will come back here just to eat at this restaurant!!!

We visited Deep Blu Seafood Grille on a whim. We were staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort and were tired and hungry after attending a conference and didn’t feel like going out so we decided to eat at the resort. Best decision of the trip. The entire experience was enjoyable. The wait staff were attentive to our needs, the environment was relaxing and the food was exceptional. I ordered the Cast Iron Seared Scallops with Florida stone ground grits, house cured country bacon, heirloom tomato and buttermilk whip. It was a delicious dish! Everything was cooked well and the dish was perfectly balanced. We also ordered the Blu Crab Mac ‘N Cheese thinking we would share it but we were so full we asked for it to be boxed up and enjoyed it in our suite the following night along with some cheese and crackers and a bottle of wine. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is a little pricey but it is fine dining with delicious seafood. We considered it money well spent and the best dining experience we had in Orlando.

The food was very good and excellent service. However the atmosphere is more for big groups or families. The restaurant looks very nice, the prices are kind of high but most of the people in the restaurant are wearing flip flops, short and shirts ;(. We ordered the crap cake which was phenomenal and a salad to start. My husband had the grouper and I ordered the golden tile, they were cooked to perfection. We also ordered a side blu crap Mac dish which was fantastic. Like I said the food was excellent, drinks are a little week. I would recommend this place.

Deep Blu is a fine dining restaurant with the usual prices for this type of establishment. The décor was beautiful and the servers are attentive and gracious. The menu has a strong emphasis on fish and seafood and features in season cuts of unusual fish. We enjoyed our visit even though I did not order a traditional meal. My husband had the ribeye and it was served over gourmet carrots and green beans. He got to choose the sauce and his huge steak was prepared perfectly. The family size side items intrigued me so I chose thee sides thinking my husband could also enjoy them. I selected the blue crab mac and cheese which was $ 18. I enjoyed the bowl of white cheese which featured large chunks of crab in spiral macaroni. I also chose the grilled asparagus which was nicely seared and also was a large portion. The disappointment was the Brussel sprouts with bacon. They were nicely browned but then then coated in a balsamic based sauce. With the overload of ingredients you could not taste the vegetable. The manager stopped by to see how we were enjoying our meal and offered several options for correcting the situation. Our meal ended with a chocolate torte and what was classified as key lime but really turned out to be more of a cheese cake. We enjoyed our meal and would return for a special occasion. The entrees start at about $ 40 and do not all include a side so the cost per person averages 60 – 75 dollars per person.

Tonight my wife and I had dinner at Deep Blu to celebrate my wife’s birthday and Mother’s Day, and I have to say that the entire experience was top notch. Beginning with our server Hicham who guided us through the menu and answered all of our questions(my wife is a pesca-vegetarian) about the menu, continuing through incredible appetizers and some of the freshest and delicious fish I’ve had in central Florida, and ending with a special birthday dessert and signed menu from the chef and staff, it was most certainly worth every penny and an experience We will be back to replicate again. Bravo to the team at the Wyndham for a great night!

On the same note as many other reviewers: snobby hostesses and inattentive waiters. There are far finer establishments for much less sass. The food fared only slightly better. For starters, we ordered the Jumbo Tiger Shrimp cocktail and Seared Scallop with Pork Belly. The shrimp were indeed jumbo and the favorite of the night. The latter dish is probably a creative spin on bacon wrapped scallops however disappointing as the pork belly ended up being way overpowering on the thin scallops that were already flavorful(read: salty) on their own. As they say, don’t fix what isn’t broken… Dinner was a smörgåsbord of sushi to balance out the heavier fares we’d been dining on in the week. While fresh and in large portions, not many of the rolls stuck out other than the Green Hornet and Spicy Tuna. Despite the beautiful décor and high price point, this place is definitely a miss.

My wife and I recently had dinner here while staying at the hotel for an anniversary night away. Being new to Orlando and still figuring out the food scene, we were excited to check this place out. The food was mostly great and we were excited there are so many gluten free options. However, the waitress wasn’t attentive and didn’t offer much in the way of suggestions, which kinda sucks when you spend $ 300 on a romantic dinner. Let’s get to the food rundown: — Oysters: East Coast rules here. Go with the Blue Points, which are outstanding and briny. Skip the sauces since all you need is some cocktail sauce and horseradish. We tried a variety and wish we hadn’t since these were clearly the best(with the Wiannos coming in a close second). — Sweet Corn and Crab Chowder: Pretty good, but not much crab. We enjoyed it nonetheless since my gluten free wife can rarely have soup. — Complimentary Bread: Good, but the cranberry butter(or whatever it was) was great. — Delmonico Ribeye: Pretty good steak, but not on par with the best steak houses(so in my opinion, not qualified as a $ 46 cut). I enjoyed the flavor but my wife prefers a tender filet so she was a little disappointed. — Scallops: These were great. Very flavorful but very small. It came on a small plate and had a very thin layer of grits with 4 tiny scallops on it. For the bacon, I doubt there was even half a slice here. — Roasted Foraged Mushrooms: Skip ‘em. We typically love mushrooms but we didn’t even put a dent in these. — blu Crab Mac N’ Cheese: I’m torn here. I’m from MD so it’s hard for me to not like anything crab. I also love mac and cheese but this dish was just bland. The muenster wasn’t that great and it didn’t go well with the Blue Crab(which did have large lumps in it). — Crème Brulee: Great flavor, but not worth the $ 10 for half a tea cup portion. This should be served in a wide and shallow ramekin, but it was seriously like a deep half tea cup. This meant a lot of cream, but not much of the crispy caramelized crust. The cocktails were good, just also expensive($ 15 for an old fashioned with run of the mill liquor). The wine list was good though. All in all, we were happy with the food, but the service took this down a notch. We definitely left full, but we also ordered a lot and took home a large doggy-bag.

Sooo. funny story. My friends and I have made several reservations this month to check out a few Magical Dining menus. I gave a list of ones I’d be interested and we decided on Deep Blu at the Wyndham Grand Hotel. Fast forward a few weeks and it’s my birthday. I always make Kory surprise me with where we’re going to dinner. And where did he pick this time? Deep Blu! Does the boy know me or what? When we sat down, the place was EMPTY! There was a small section in the back where I saw two tables filled. But in our main dining room, we were the only table until almost the end of our dinner! It was really pretty inside and random, but we both kept commenting on how comfy the chairs were! When the waitress put our menu down, I noticed a nice surprise at the top.(It said happy birthday!) We decided to stick to the Magical Dining Month menu. Although when I looked at the menu, I saw some oysters as appetizers. I asked our waitress, Shannon, if they could steam them and she said no. No biggie. Since I’d be coming back later in the month, I’d just wait until then and have some raw ones as an appetizer. We placed our drink orders. I got the St. Augustine. It was perfectly sweet. The bread was okay. It looked like it was garlic butter and there were cloves of garlic in the butter, but it wasn’t strong enough. I’m not a huge fan of bread unless it, or the butter is flavored, so I took a bite and passed. About this time, Shannon came back and said that she had gone ahead and asked the Chef about steaming the oysters. He said that since they were empty, he had time to go ahead and do that for me! Talk about great customer service on both Shannon and the Chef’s part! Shannon could have just said no and left it at that! But instead, she went out of her way since she knew I wanted them. And then the Chef could have said no too! So I was a very happy girl! While I love oysters, I’m not knowledgeable about them. There were four types offered and I just told Shannon to pick. I don’t remember which ones I got, but they were really good!(and I was enthralled with the different colored salt!) For the appetizer, I got the Butternut Squash Bisque which had Vanilla chantilly and crisp miniature greens. It came in this fun, tall bowl(you can’t tell in my awful-picture taking skills.) The bisque was very flavorful. And it was really thick – much thicker than other bisques I’ve had. Kory got the My Yard Farms Kale Salad which had goat cheese, pears, strawberries, carrots, candied pecans, pork belly & warm grain mustard vinaigrette. It was yummy too and I kept stealing his cheese pieces! For the main entrée, I ordered the Blu Crab Risotto which was creamy risotto with lump blu crab, asparagus purée & topped with miniature local greens. It was delicious! The presentation was unusual, instead of being in a bowl or regular plate, and I enjoyed that! Kory had the Seared Florida Red Snapper which was Florida gulf coast red snapper served with a whipped Yukon gold potato, tropical fruit relish of pineapple, honeydew, cantaloupe & cilantro. I tried a bite but liked mine much more. Kory disagreed and devoured his! For dessert, we both ordered the Florida Citrus Crème Brulee but Shannon came back with a surprise – a fun birthday dessert! There was banana cheesecake, espresso crème brûlée and a deconstructed s’mores dessert with flourless chocolate cake, toasted marshmallows and graham cracker crumbs. OHMY! This dessert was so right up my alley! I would have ordered each one separately if I had seen it on a menu. If I see anything banana-y or crème brûlée, that’s what I make a beeline for. And then I love inventive desserts which is what the s’mores dessert was. My favorite was the s’mores dessert. The chocolate was just decadent and the marshmallows complemented it so well. The banana cheesecake was quite tasty too! The espresso crème brûlée was good but reaallllly heavy on the coffee taste. I love Magical Dining month! You get to venture out to restaurants and try foods you might normally get to try. And honestly, before we ate, I wasn’t sure if I was going to go back with my friends later in the month or skip it now that I had done it. But after my meal there, I’ll be going back! There’s other items on the menu that I can’t wait to try!

There was some mixed reviews about this place, but we decided to give it a try anyway. We ordered a rainbow roll and a spicy tuna roll to start and we were very impressed with the freshness of the fish and the large size of the rolls. Next, we had their crab cake. It was $ 14 and pretty small(maybe 3 inches in diameter and less than an inch in thickness), but it’s almost completely crab meat. Their crab cake is apparently rated #2 in Florida and it’s made of 98% crab meat, with only a bit of filler. I think it’s absolutely delicious and worth the money! For entrée I ordered a 14oz ribeye. The meat only tasted OK. I asked for medium, but it was a bit more rare than I liked. My fiancée ordered a platter with a lobster tail, scallop, shrimps, and some other seafood. It was very delicious. I think the price of the food is well justified for their seafood, but it’s overpriced for their land alternatives. Go here for seafood!
