I would normally give a much higher rating of this place. In the past I have gotten nothing but great service & food here. Here’s where my last experience was different… I ordered over $ 50.00 in food togo. The 1st person that was helping me was doing a great job. Halfway through the order a young Latina lady showed up for work and took over. She was very friendly and helpful, BUT open-mouthed smacking her chewing-gum like nobody’s business. She was chewing away as she dished up my sides. Sun was beaming in on her open mouth chewing and talking. I saw spit fly out & down in front of her where my mashed potatoes were. She was so nice I felt awkward saying anything. I just threw the potatoes away when I got home. I really should have said something at the time. If a health inspector sees something like that the place might get in trouble.

I wanted to write a review about the wonderful experience my family and I had tonight at the Dickeys location on Chickasaw Tr. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the food was better than we could have expected. Maurice asked me if I wanted to try a sample of the two kinds of sausage since this was our first time at Dickeys. Then when I was ordering my sides, I ordered the Brunswick stew. There wasn’t any available at the time, and I happily ordered another side as they all seemed really good. The manager, Bithja, insisted on making the Brunswick stew anyway and had it ready before we left, free of charge so we could try it. This kind of exceptional service is both rare and extremely appreciated. They have a wonderful team, and even though it’s a half hour drive(We live by Sea World), we will absolutely be back. Maurice even put on cartons for my kids to keep them happy while we were eating. This location is a top notch establishment and has an outstanding team.

If you like BBQ this place is worth trying. Their menu has a wide variety to choose from. I had the brisket which was good. My favorite part of the menu is the sides. The Mac and cheese is great! Instead of regular French fries they offer waffle fries which are fantastic. Regular BBQ sauce, spicy and sweet are also available as a self serve option. My favorite part was the free soft serve ice cream!

Mediocre BBQ joint at best. Service was great, staff was very friendly and more than willing to answer my questions. I will admit it is very hard to impress me regarding BBQ joints, so I will try my best to make a fair review. I had a 3 meat combination plate which included pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. The ribs were by far the best out of the three as they were quite tender and juicy. The pulled pork although tender was a bit dry and lacked the ever important smokiness that I covet so much for BBQ restaurants. The brisket was the same story as the pork. There was no smoke ring visible on the brisket that to me is evident of either not a lot of smoke time or lack of a decent dry rub. The sides were basic but overall an ok experience. I would have given the place 2 stars had it not been for the free soft serve ice cream that they provide. I would definitely visit again if I’m craving ribs and pressed for time.

Always wanted to try this as its right across the street from work. Discovered that it’s tasty and quick and $ 5 combo didn’t break the bank. The server remembered my name and was polite but efficient. I’ll be back!

Not 1 star bad and not 3 star good. The only thing I liked was the mac&cheese. I tried both the chicken and the sausage and the flavors were… interesting. I don’t know how else to describe it other than a «fast food Sonnys». It was actually a little nauseating. I would have to be starving to eat there again, but then I would just walk 50 more feet to Pita Pit.

Tried this place on a holiday Sunday. Relatively busy and the service was a little slow. However, it was worth the wait! Counter service — assembly line and not a bad price. I paid 9 dollars for the pulled pork and two sides. I chose the Mac n cheese and BBQ baked beans. Mac and cheese wasn’t the best but the beans were great. The sandwich? Awesome. Juicy and tender on good bun. Three choices of sauces. I chose the sweet but did like their signature sauce as well. My friend got the same combo but had the waffle fries– they are excellent! Décor inside was quaint country styled with vintage country music on the radio, nice touch! Drink dispenser, self serve BBQ sauce and complimentary ice cream. Not many tables but fortunately we got one! Can’t wait to try this place again! And to end this review on a sweet note– the have pecan pie!(;

Everything about this place was bad. I had the beef brisket it was like chewing on a dried out piece of stew meat. My mother couldn’t even eat her meal. I will never eat there again. They don’t even deserve one star.

The BBQ is the best in Orlando. The service is awful. The staff seem they don’t like their job and all have attitudes. I have been here three times and it is the same each time. They need to work on customer service experience and do a little cleaning. The store was dirty and needs to be inspected by the health department. While making my order the girl dropped the spoon into the sauce and she just dug it out. This in my opinion contaminated the whole batch. This would not be an acceptable practice by health department standards. One employ while wearing gloves kept wiping his face then made food without changing gloves or washing his hands. Another pushed down the trash then did not use soap when washing his hands. There is huge sanitary issues at this store. With all that said, if you get sick when eating here. I warned you!!!

I wasn’t super excited about this place when it first opened. I had been to the Oviedo location once and didn’t care for it at all. But I’ve been to this one several times now, and I’ve really been happy with it. Everything I’ve had has been tender and juicy, and the bread used in the sandwiches is delicious. The sides are a little uninteresting, for example the fried okra(which admittedly I do like anyway) is frozen in a bag and thrown into the fryer right in front of you. The onion straws are more grease than onion, and I just plain don’t care for the green beans. But when it comes down to it, if the main part of the meal is impressive enough, I can overlook the sides. One last thing — the air conditioning clearly can’t keep up with the demands put on it. It’s always sweltering in there every time I come in. Really should do something about that.

This is a brand-new location for Dickies. I have already dined here twice. They have some great specials. On the day that I went, they had a pulled pork, smoked cheddar sausage, two sides and a drink for $ 8.99. I was very pleased with the portion. After lunch we enjoyed some of their complementary ice cream. They have a nice selection of the bridges to choose from, different sodas, sweet tea, unsweet tea, and water if you wish. I took my father wants to Dickies. Now he is a diehard Sonny’s BBQ fan. I think I converted him over to Dickies. He really likes the fact that you get ice cream after the meal. All the employees I encountered on both visits, was very kind, very sweet, and very helpful. I recommend this location for either lunch or dinner. And children under 12 eat for free.

Nice to have a good BBQ place in the neighborhood. Friendly and fast service. The waffle fries in particular are excellent.

I came in with my family on a Sunday for a late afternoon/early dinner and this place was packed! There were only 7(or so) tables but we were able to find a four-top table available. The service was amazing! We were greeted warmly upon entering. It took us a while before we ordered. We couldn’t decide what to get. The staff was very patient with us and answered all of our questions. We ended up with the family dinner with 3 meats and 4 sides plus dinner rolls. We took our seats and they served our food to our table. To the side, there is a soda fountain, an ice cream machine(which is free!) and variety of bbq sauces. The original sauce was spicy enough for me, so I didn’t dare to try the spicy one. The food? Excellent! The meat was juicy and cooked to perfection. Waffle fries and the onion tanglers are a must! I didn’t try the fried okra, but my family devoured them. The downside? The food portions. The family dinner that we got was about $ 60 and the menu said that it was enough for 6 – 8 people. My family of four nearly finished it all, so I’d say the XL dinner is good for up to 5 people. Or maybe we just nearly ate it all because we loved it so much! Haha! We will be back!

Although this establishment has only been open a couple of weeks, it’s set in a busy neighborhood that badly needed a good, clean bbq place. They have several different types of meat to chose from with a list of sides and all the sweet tea and vanilla ice cream you can eat. Did I mention that Sunday’s kids eat FREE and they also cater? This place whips Sonny’s tail and gives a fast and friendly perspective on traditional bbq. The staff is helpful and courteous always greeting you when you walk in and thanking you when you leave. I thoroughly enjoy eating here(as well as my kids) and I am glad they’re here in our neighborhood. VIVADICKEYS!

I was very excited to experience our new E. Orlando Rio Pinar Dickey’s BBQ restaurant this past weekend. Regrettably, we were disappointed during our«first» visit. Staff were gracious, but unfamiliar with menu and when asked for any«recommendations» suggested they had not eaten at Dickey’s. After server noted ribs could be dry. I learned my order of brisket was equally tough! Following these evident«growing pains» associated with restaurant Grand Opening with a lack of managerial oversight, I look forward to a future review. Good luck Dickey’s!

We have gone four times since they opened and it’s usually been the same crew or part of the same crew working. We went tonight and picked up two rib dinners as we have done previously. It was a whole new crew. I was wondering how it would turn out when the guy cutting the meat had to ask someone how to cut the ribs. We were both disappointed in how the ribs turned out. They were chewy and tough. Not fall off the bone as we have experienced before. I’ll give them a little slack because they’re new but management needs to strive on consistency, including how to cut and cook the food. Hopefully they will get it together. From our previous trips we know they can do a great job.

The family and I attended the grand opening of the Dickey’s Barbecue Pit at Chickasaw and Lake Underhill. The small shop was bustling and every seat was taken. If you know it’s a busy time of day, definitely call ahead and order to pick up and go. The hubs was sent a coupon for buy one get one brisket sandwiches. He really enjoyed the chunky brisket. The sandwiches come plain with a few slices of onion and pickle on the side. The sweet barbecue sauce is quite tasty. I ordered the smokehouse salad. Brisket over romaine, shredded cheese, onion tanglers, and ranch dressing. Very good, I’d order it again. The tot enjoyed her chicken nuggets with a side of macaroni and cheese, and especially enjoyed the free soft serve ice cream after her meal. They are working out the kinks, but service was good and the staff was very helpful. Definitely look forward to returning and trying a baked potato with brisket. They also cater, so if you’re looking for some good bbq for a nearby event, give them a call! We’ll be back!
