Let me tell you a tale of a crazy-angry man, and his laundry business. To be fair, I used Dixie’s many times until my most recent issue, which unfortunately was a big one. I had dropped off a comforter and fiber bed several weeks ago. I was told there would be a $X price because they had to be disinfected because I have pets — which is fine. I wanted it clean, which is why I brought it there. Because it’s a LAUNDRY place. And I like CLEAN things. Everyone’s following so far, right? Then like any normal half functional, scatter brained adult, I forgot to pick it up, then did pick it up and the comforter sat wrapped in storage until it got cold again(it’s thick and I have another one — no fear, I’m not a coverless cave dwelling heathen). When I opened the bag to use it, it still smelled heavily of dog and was covered in hair. I brought it back and was told the owner would contact me. I had barely finished saying hello when he called before the owner started screaming at me, accusing me of trying to deceive his business and get things for free. Clearly I was lying. They washed the other(white) fiber bed, so clearly they had also cleaned the(dark gray) comforter. Despite the fact that in general, when laundry is done, in 99.9% of cases, you would not wash 2 completely different color items together, nor would you wash two huge, fluffy pieces together for fear of breaking one very expensive machine and having to deal with two soggy messes. I digress. I asked him to look at/smell the comforter, which was still shrink wrapped in its original state — even if I tried to get it to look like that, I doubt I could. Thank you for your overconfidence in my domestic abilities, Mr. Sam. Let me assure you, I am not Betty Crocker, which is why I brought my difficult — and not so difficult laundry, to you. The ‘pros’ who have been in business 25 years — as you’ve mentioned so specifically during our ‘polite’ discussion. I can’t even fold a fitted sheet right(sorry Martha Stewart, I tried). Anyway, he yelled and yelled and told me I had to pay — again, and to take my business elsewhere. Why I would ever want to bring my business there after that behavior, I’m not sure. To be clear, I wasn’t accusing them of intentionally not cleaning the comforter, but it definitely wasn’t cleaned. Maybe they forgot. Maybe from a distance it looked clean so someone folded it up to be picked up. Who knows. He couldn’t tell me the original condition when I dropped it off for the second time because they had allegedly already re-washed it and decided to charge me for it(again). If it was so clean, why would they rewash it? And why in the world wouldn’t I try to scam them out of a way more expensive order — I mean, yeah comforter cleaning is a pain and can be pricey, but if *I* had used it/made it dirty again, I would have taken it to be cleaned — again — in the same shambled state I normally bring things in. Even if he had calmly offered to split the charge with me, because again, it had been awhile since I initially brought it in, that would have been fine. Instead, the irrational anger and absurd behavior have led me here, to share my fateful tale with all of you. I have yet to pick up the object of such disdain, that should be interesting. Had he just been polite and behaved like a normal adult, I would have had no issue. However, that was sadly not the case and I’ll use one of the other 400 dry cleaners/wash and fold locations in a 3 mile radius.

ZEROSTARS. This place is literally the worst. I brought some clothing in and was promptly greeted by the most incredibly rude staff I’ve ever seen in my life. Granted, I was in there taking my dirty boxers to be cleaned so I shouldn’t expect overly enthusiastic responses. After spending way too much money, and the staff initially losing my items, they brought them out to me about a half hour later. I was in disbelief of how UNCLEAN my items were after spending my hard earned cash to have Dixie’s clean them. In fact, the items smelled worse than when I brought them in. I trusted Dixie’s to clean my boxers and they failed miserably. If I were you, I would STAYAWAY from Dixies. The staff is mean and unprofessional, the place reeks of stale pizza and B.O., and to top it off… they can’t even get my boxers clean.

Average coin laundry place. They have several sizes of washing machines and big dryers. Staff has always been nice to me. It’s in the hood so it’s convenient for me. I have never had any problems with any of the machines. I am glad I only come here to do quilts and comforters. I don’t know of any landry place anyone looks forward to going to so I am not meaning for the startement before hand to be a slight.

$ 16 for a quilt — yikes. You can drop off or do your own laundry here and I decided to drop off my quilt so I could run some errands. It isn’t anything special like a down comforter, just a light weight quilt. The positive was that it was complete the same day, however, a $ 16 bill — just not loving that. It’s aok, because it was convenient but next time I will def do it myself. It’s a little confusing when you approach this place since it’s a self-serve and drop off spot. It is also located right next to a 7 – 11 so it’s not the best ambiance.
